                  it wasn't something Ginny Lopez wanted. Heck, she never thought things would get this far.

         VIRGINIA LOPEZ, or simply Ginny, as everyone called her, had always dreamed of a villa in the heart of Figure Eight. Until she finally found a way to get there.

          Ginny was someone who didn't want to be recognized around the island, and yet almost everyone knew about the pogue princess walking down the Cut with her pink Birkenstocks on, and cherry gloss on her lips. Unfortunately, almost everyone knew about her family problems too.

          Augustus Clark left his daughters and wife when Ginny was only ten years old. Growing up, she saw her mother slowly roll down the hill toward drugs, alcohol, and men for one night. She never thought about working, so the whole house became the responsibility of her older daughter, Selina.

          Selina Lopez was truly a sweetheart, she always thought about others first, but she fell in love with the wrong guy — Asher Barlowe. He was a very wealthy and recognized kook on the island who had Selina wrapped around his finger, telling her how much he loved her and was happy to have met someone so special. Until she became pregnant, and Asher disappeared from her life as quickly, as he appeared. So when Ginny was old enough, she started working in local bars or surf shops. She would do anything to provide money for her household, because Maria was not a big fan of working, heck, she didn't even think about it. 

          But Ginny realized she had to buy her way into Figure Eight, so she began hiding every penny her mother couldn't see. It's possible that she simply stole some of her savings from older men who, enchanted by her beauty, didn't notice the young Lopez reaching into their wallets. But did it matter to her? Of course, it didn't. All that mattered was that she was now able to guarantee herself a place in Figure Eight.

          Unfortunately, not everything went her way. People didn't believe in her fake relationship, especially with a person who hated pogues. Her friends turned away from her, not understanding her actions, and her mother became furious. She even wanted to throw her out of the house, but after all, she couldn't get rid of her source of income, right?
