---------------------------------------------------

Vaish was all hyped up. Tomorrow was the meeting and she and Abhay were going over the presentation, looking for any mistakes or loop holes.

"What do you think? Will she like it?" Vaish asked for the hundredth time and Abhay just smiled.

"She will, definitely." He said.

Vaish sat on one of the chairs and closed her eyes trying to relax herself.

Abhay was lost in his thoughts too. He knew tomorrow was a big day for them. He will face his aunt after three months. Last time he saw her didn't end well.

She was angry with him for not attending that meeting. He never realised why that meeting was so important, in fact he never realised why people get hyped up for a meeting, not until he himself felt it.

This was the first time he was that much involved in any presentation. He has worked hard for it and hoped that his aunt will forgive him after seeing that he was being serious in his life; but more than that he was worried about his Fireball.

She worked twice harder than him. She has shared her story about coming out of her father's wings and her decision about working independently and he has seen her striving hard for this project.

The project was important for him to get forgiveness of his aunt but she was working as passionately as him.

He was never interested in business; he still is not interested. He never paid attention to see how it works and how hard people have to work just to get one deal, he thought it was easy for them but seeing his love working like that opened his eyes.

He hasn't spent much time with Pooja Aunty while she was working so he didn't know her working style but if that's how hard she has to work then he could understand her anger.

But that was not the only thing that was keeping him on edge. He was really nervous about tomorrow. For tomorrow will also decide the future of his love story.

He was going to come out clear tomorrow. He will share every single thing that he was hiding from so many days. He will tell his Fireball about the truth that he was hiding and her reaction to the truth; well that scared the hell out of him.

He knew he had made mistakes. He knew he was guilty that he should have come clear of everything the moment it all started but he was a fool then.

Being with her just for three months changed him so much. He understood that he could work sincerely and still enjoy the life; that relationships and commitments aren't scary and that love exists.

He didn't know how to define love but he knew one thing that for him Vaishali Khanna was the definition of love.

She was what he needed in her life. Before her he was living the life of young and somewhat spoiled brat but she changed him for good. She didn't stop him from doing his childish dramas in fact she was bigger drama queen then him but still when she entered her cabin and started working then it means no nuisance.

She worked passionately and enjoyed contently. His own lifestyle has changed because of her, a good change. Earlier he used to work whenever he wanted and then party whenever he felt like but now he is on schedule and it gave him a good feeling. He felt worthy.

And all of this was because of this woman who has made him fall for her without any efforts.

He thought about the last one week where they both were busy but still they made time to ice cream dates and sometimes just sit on marine drive and share their childhood stories. It was his first time opening up to someone about his past. He never talked to anyone about his parents but with her it all seemed so easy; so natural. She was right, he should smile while remembering them and not feel guilty, that is what they would have wanted if they were alive.

He has become habituated to her presence in his life that he was worried what will happen tomorrow when his business contract with her end. He can't imagine a single day when he can't see her face.

He was terrified of her reaction to the truth. Will she accept him and his love after knowing what all he has been hiding? Will she forgive him?

He didn't know; but one thing he knew for sure that he loves her and he hoped that she trusts him enough to at least listen his point of view.

Sometimes he was confused about her ignorance; but then again he reminded that for these three months her focus was on this presentation and she has blocked out everything else. Yet they met and fell in love.

He was almost sure that she loves him though they have not said the words but their actions are enough.

He looked at her; sitting on her face with her eyes closed. He could feel her tension and he wanted to help her out of it; so he asked, "Are we done for the day, Fireball?"

Vaish opened her eyes coming out of her memory trip, and smiled tiredly, "Yes. It's all done. We have tried our best; let's hope that it all ends well."

"It will. She will like our presentation. Don't be too stressed. I know these words sound repetitive but trust yourself, Fireball. You started this company independently leaving the comfortable position in your father's company. You came to Mumbai and survived the city. You had an amazing staff here that will always support you. You have successfully managed to seal twelve out of fifteen deals in past three months. If that is not the definition of success then I don't know what is. Realise it Vaishali, with or without this project you have made your point and have successfully established yourself in the business world and that's what that really matters."

Abhay said and Vaish stood up and walked towards him.

"You forgot the part where I met one of the most dramatic but best software developer and worked with him." She said and Abhay smiled and stood up matching her.

"Yes, you met the most dramatic software developer and changed him for good." Abhay said.

"I don't want to change you. You are best." Vaish simply shrugged.

"I know I am the best but I was lacking sincerity. You changed my opinion about so many things in professional as well as personal life. I was an idiot earlier for being scared of commitments. I used to run away from relationships thinking that they bound a person."

"And now?" Vaish dared asking.

"And now I know that relationships don't bind you, in fact they liberate you. They free you from the fear of being alone; they give you the confidence that no matter what you do someone is always there for you. I want you with me always because you make it all right. With you everything makes sense." Abhay said it sincerely and Vaish's heart melted.

How can she not love this man, when he says these beautiful things? She wanted to confess her love to him then and there and tell him everything.

"Abhay... I..." She tried to say something but was stopped by him.

"Ssh.. Don't say anything Fireball. Just feel it. I don't want you to give me an answer right now; even though I'm sure I know what your answer will be. I can feel it just like you do. This thing between us is real, never question it. Promise me that you will trust me on this, always?"

"I will trust you Abhay, always but I need to tell you something about myself." Vaish said and Abhay's eyes widened.

"Don't say anything right now. It's not the right time. We will talk after the presentation gets over. I have something to confess as well but let's not worry about that." He said and Vaish nodded realising that he was right.

This was not the time but it will come soon.

"I just want you to know that I trust you, Fireball and whatever be the result tomorrow I'll be by your side. Saying that I'm sure you will succeed." He said sincerely.

"We will succeed." She corrected him and hugged him.

Tomorrow I will tell him the truth. She thought.

Tomorrow I will tell her everything. He promised himself and hugged her tightly.

But they didn't know that things have their own way of coming around and how much they plan; some things are ought to happen in unimaginable ways.

***

Next day both Vaish and Abhay came early to look at the preparations. Abhay's heart skipped a bit to see her dressed in all professional attire. Well she always dress to kill but today she was looking so elegant, so sophisticated that he can't help but admire beauty.

They checked everything and were satisfied with the arrangements.

"Fireball." Abhay called her and she looked at him questioningly.

"Everything is done here, I'm going out now. I can't come in front of her before presentation." Vaish tried to cut him but he shook his head. "I know what you will say that I need to face her and I will but after your presentation is over. Right now if she sees me here then it will start another argument and it will shift our focus from the presentation itself. We can't let our hard work go into drain. So, I need to go."

"But I need you Abhay. I need you here for my confidence." Vaish pleaded and it shocked her because Vaishali Khanna never does that. Abhay went near her and placed his hands on her shoulders.

"Who are you and what had you done to my Fireball? My Fireball doesn't need anyone to raise her confidence, she knows herself well enough to doubt her capabilities. She is fierce, independent and confident."

He slowly went away from her and started taking a step backwards while still maintaining their eye contact.

"You are very well capable of handling any situation, Vaishali; with or without me. I'll be standing with you always and in every situation, good or bad but the decision is always yours. I may not be able to stop you from committing mistakes but I'll be with you when we will face consequences, of our mistake."

"All the Best, Spitfire!" He said and left.

Vaish was shocked. He has so much trust in her more than herself. He was what she wanted no needed in her life partner. He has this aura around him that made her feel relaxed just the way she felt with Mr. Stranger.

His charcoal black eyes were always saying so many things to her amber brown ones.

Her eyes widened at the thought. All the time she was feeling so relaxed around him was because a small part of her subconscious was thinking, more like wanting him to be Mr. Stranger. That is the reason she felt comfortable with him all the time; that is the reason why she never felt guilty around him.

His charcoal black eyes, his physique and his calm demeanor all were similar to Mr. Stranger. Just like his way of talking. He called her fireball and now he called her Spitfire, just like Mr. Stranger.

This was so messed up. She was mixing two different people in her head, just because they looked somewhat similar, just because she happened to fall in love with one; she wanted him to be other; for her convenience. Because whatever games her mind was playing was just not possible.

There was no chance in hell that it could happen because if it was even a bit true then he would have asked her till now. What she felt right now; if he felt a bit like that ever then he would have come to her and talked to her clearly.

Hell! She would have run behind him right now and ask the answer to all the questions that were rising in her mind, about his charcoal black eyes, his words that confused her and his promises about asking her to trust him, always.

But she can't for two reasons; One the meeting was starting in ten minutes, the representatives of Jindal group were on their way and Second, he asked her to trust him and so she will. He will never hide anything like that from her.

Besides it was all just a silly misconception of her mind. May be her mind was playing silly tricks on her to distract her from the issue in hand.

She got a message from Sheena about the arrival of delegates.

She replayed his words of encouragement in her mind again and smiled feeling all the tension leaving her body. He is right.

She is Vaishali Khanna, daughter of Vishal and Smita Khanna. The lover of Abhay Singh and she can do this.

With a deep intake of air, she raised her chin high and stood along with her staff to welcome them.

***

She noticed Mr. Satyajit first. He was the marketing director of JP Group of companies and was the one who has informed Vaish about the success of her last presentation in Vegas. He was followed by the other high ranking people of JP group.

Vaish welcomed him with a smile. "Good Morning Mr. Satyajit. Welcome to our office."

"Good Morning Ms. Khanna. It's a pleasure seeing you again. I liked you last presentation and I'm looking forward to see how this one goes."

"Thanks for your appreciation Mr. Satyajit. I hope you like today's presentation as well." She said and he nodded at her with a smile.

"I'm sure that you will do something good because I've seen our work earlier but before that let me introduce you to our the foundation pillar of our company, our MD Miss. Pooja Jindal." Vaish looked from him to see her.

She was struck by the fact that how beautiful and graceful Pooja looked. She has an aura around her which automatically earned respect from others. She could see her professionalism from her personality. She was assessing the surroundings with her charcoal black eyes. She now realised that Abhay inherited his mother's eyes. His aunt has similar eyes.

Their eyes finally met and she hoped to see arrogance or may be proud in her eyes but instead she saw relief and... happiness? Vaish was now confused but then looked at her face which was neutral. May be she is wrong in her judgement, maybe it's because she has got the same eyes as Abhay that she made an error of judgement .

So Vaish just shook her head and went ahead to greet her.

"Good Morning Ma'am. It's an honour to have you here." She greeted her respectfully.

She knew she must remain professional and address her by her last name like others but she can't bring herself to do it. She can't call Abhay's aunt by her name. She hoped that Pooja didn't mind her.

She noticed Pooja's lip twitched up in a smile and a look of somewhat victory as well as adoration crossed her face for brief seconds.

"Good Morning Miss. Vaishali. It's a pleasure meeting you finally." Pooja said and Vaish felt as if she has heard the voice somewhere before, but then quickly dismissed the thought.

"Shall we all proceed to the conference room?" Vaish's assistant asked and everyone agreed.

As everyone started moving towards the conference room, Pooja asked Vaish to stop.

"Miss Vaishali, I hope it won't be a problem for you but one of our major shareholders is stuck somewhere and can't attend the meeting right now. He will join us at the end." Pooja said in a professional tone.

"Shall we wait before starting the presentation ma'am?" Vaish asked.

"No need for that. He needs not to be present here for that. He will be needed in the end to complete some formalities." Pooja dismissed her concern.

"Okay ma'am, then we should proceed." Vaish said and Pooja just nodded and entered the room.

Vaish looked around for a second as if trying to see Abhay. She can't see him but she felt his presence. She received a text and her mouth twitched in a smile.

"That was great start, Fireball. Now go inside and impress them all. All the best.

~Mr. Developer."

So with a smile on her face she entered the room and started explaining the project.

***

Vaish was giving her presentation flawlessly. The room was dark so she can't see their faces but she could feel that they were impressed by 3d presentation.

She was towards the end of her presentation carefully explaining the profits of the deal when she felt the door opened and someone entered. She didn't see the face of the person as she was busy with her presentation.

May be the shareholder they were talking about earlier.

Vaish finally completed her presentation and there was silence in the room for a second. She felt someone standing up from the chair and walking towards her.

The light finally turned on and she saw Pooja walking towards her with a look of respect and admiration in her eyes. She stopped near her and clapped her hand finally showing her approval and all the other members of JP Group stood up and joined her.

"The presentation was very good Vaishali, but what I liked more was the way you delivered it. It takes lots of courage and confidence to stand in front of people almost twice your age and deliver your thoughts so confidently. Congratulation, Miss Vaishali Khanna; you have successfully impressed us with your presentation. JP group of Companies would like to work with you."

"Thanks a lot ma'am for your appreciation. It means a lot but I'm not alone in this. It's the efforts of my entire staff and one more person without whom this won't be possible. I would like to introduce you the software designer of this project." Vaish said with a smile on her face but inside she was jumping. All the hard work of three months was finally showing its result.

The tension that was there has suddenly evaporated and she felt so lighter. She was happier for Abhay, now he could finally meet his aunt and they can make up.

"Sure, Vaishali but first I want you to meet out major shareholder. He wants to congratulate you personally." Pooja said and Vaish nodded at her happily.

"Miss Vaishali, meet our major shareholder, Mr. Arjun Singh Shekhawat, the heir of Shekhawati group of Industries." Pooja introduced and all colour left Vaish's face to see Arjun standing in front of her smirking at her.

"Mr. Arjun, she is Vaishali..." Arjun cut Pooja in between.

"We know each other very well. Don't we Vaish?" Pooja looked at him in confusion whereas Vaish's eyes widened knowing what was coming next.

She knew what Arjun was going to do now.

The entire room went silent to see the interaction between them.

"Vaish? You know Miss Vaishali personally?" Pooja asked once again and Arjun just smirked, while Vaish found everything coming back in full circles. The trip to Vegas and his arrival as Mr. Stranger, how he found her because he was there in the last presentation as well and then his promise to meet her again in a week.

Karma is really a Bitch.

"She is my wi..." Arjun was about to say something but stopped when the door opened frantically and now everyone gasped to see Abhay coming inside in full strides and standing protectively in front of Vaish.

"Abhay?" His aunt and Vaish both whispered in shock to see him standing there but he didn't answer any of them but just looked at Arjun.

"What are you doing here Abhay?" His aunt asked once again.

"Abhay you came." Vaish said feeling somewhat relieved.

"Abhay you too know Vaishali?" Pooja asked in confusion but Abhay just looked at Arjun who once again smirked.

"Yes, Abhay tell them how do you know Vaishali? Can you tell them? Can you tell your aunt? Can you tell Vaishali? Can you speak the truth about how do you know Vaishali?" Arjun finally asked the questions and Abhay gave him a deadly glare.

"Can't speak Abhay? Cat got your tongue? Well if you can't then I'll tell everyone how I know Vaishali." Arjun provoked him once again and Abhay lost it then. He punched Arjun in face and everyone gasped.

Before anyone could react or say anything, he grabbed Vaish's hand and turned to face his aunt and all others.

"Aunty, She is Vaishali Khanna Singh. My wife." Abhay finally declared.
