FAITH
"Before that, there's something else I need to tell you. Going back all the way to high school, I didn't mean the way I acted towards you. Um, I didn't mean to call you a slut." he stated.
"Seriously? What the hell? First of all, why are you bringing back high school? We're here for business. Second, I don't have time for your made up excuses. Just do me a favor and skip the sorry because it's way overdue. I don't care about that, anyways." I responded.
"No. Listen to me. I'm not even sorry for what I did. I just want to explain why I did the things I did because I don't want you to think of me differently. I knew you had a crush on Jackson. Did you know how disgusting Jackson was?"
"Yes." I cut him off.
"Yet, you still fell for him. You might have thought you knew him well but you really didn't. He wouldn't talk about girls to you. He would to us. The things he said about you guys was...I can't even put it in words. At first, I thought you were a funny girl. Then, I noticed your interest in him. I didn't want you getting used, alright? I guess you reminded me of my sister. I teased you so you would slowly drift apart from us. However, you became even closer to us because you thought we were funny and the guys thought the same about you. Not to mention other nasty thoughts. One day, I saw you and Jackson closer than you really should. When you came up to me that day and we argued, I called you a slut. Yes, because I was mad, okay? And it finally worked. You stood away."
Aw. He is cute. No. Why does he even care if I get used? Stop. Stop being stubborn. He was just trying to help!
"Uh. Thanks. I understand, now. It's all good, either way. I already forgot about it. Let's just continue."
"Ready for the story?" he asked, his lips turning into a sexy smirk.
"Been ready since day 1." I replied with a matching smirk.
"Olivia Gaine has been kicked out of our company, that much you know. But why? Olivia was a wild girl. She was spoiled. Very spoiled. She was supposed to get married but the guy dumped her, for all the right reasons, of course. After this, Olivia started acting extremely impulsive. So much that, she married another guy without getting anyone's blessings. Olivia was extremely rude to her father, Mr. Lane, after the marriage. So, Mr. Lane removed her from the estate's inheritance. Olivia went crazy. Everyday, she would come to the company and yell for her 'rights.' She was finally forbidden from entering our grounds. Olivia's husband, Daniel Gaine, hates me. He would do anything to get me out of the way of his 'success.' Take a look at these files." he explained, handing me a folder.
"Why exactly does Daniel hate you?" I asked, looking through the files.
"As childish as this sounds, he's just jealous."
I burst into laughter, "He's j-jealous? Of y-you?"
"It's not that hard to believe. Many people are jealous of me."
I wiped away my tears and fixed myself.
"Yeah, sure. Anyhow, here it says Gabriel holds 34% of the inheritance." I stated.
"That is because of his parents. Once he becomes of legal age, he will completely own 34% of the company. This is exactly why Olivia and Daniel want Gabriel. To enter our company. We need to prevent this. Daniel is no good."
"Thank you. I will get working right away."
"We're trusting you." he replied.
I felt heavy. Would I be able to do this? God, I sure hope so. I didn't want Gabriel in the hands of people like that, assuming that Mason is right about his opinions.
"I think I should leave, now." I shook hands with him as he nodded and smiled at me.
When I got home, Hope and Jocelyn were getting ready as if they had prom in an hour.
"What's happening?" I asked.
"I became friends with this rich-ass girl from the clinic and she invited us over for this party celebrating her friend's success. Something about music, I don't really know. Don't worry she's not spoiled. She's actually pretty funny! Come on, get ready!" Jocelyn babbled.
I laughed as I rushed into my room. I wore the dress that the girls had already picked out for me and braided the front of my hair. The back was left loose. I applied light makeup and wore my shoes. Then, I grabbed my bag and walked back to the living room.
"I'm ready!" I announced.
Hope and Jocelyn were standing in front of me. They were looking beautiful. Hope was wearing a floral sundress, while Joc was wearing a red satin strappy skater dress.
"Let's do this shit!" yelled Joc while Hope laughed along.
Let's do it...
