FAITH

"They know about the baby, right?" Hailey asked.

"Yeah, of course." I answered.

"Great. I was thinking of having a little celebration for the little baby tonight between the two families. What do you two think? And what about the wedding?! It has to be before the birth, right? Oh my God, I'm really excited now.  I have to start planning!" Hailey exclaimed, sprinting out of the kitchen.

I looked at Mason with disappointment, "What are we going to do?"

"Come on, let's go to our room." Mason held my hand, leading me back to our room.

"So, what are we going to do?" I repeated my question.

"We're going to get you pregnant."

"WHAT?! ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND, MASON?!" I yelled.

"Relax, I was just kidding."

"That was a terrible joke."

"We need a plan. I didn't take it to go this far."

"Does this plan include getting me pregnant because oh God, I don't know how I feel about that."

"Maybe."

Okay, honestly, ever since this lie started I keep feeling as if I was actually pregnant. I mean there is no way I can be because I didn't do the nasty-nasty anytime soon but I really just want a baby and to settle down. I don't know are these just hormones or just some feelings I'm developing at the spur of the moment. I just feel like if Mason said, "I'm going to get you preggo," I'd probably let it all happen. But the question is: Would I regret it? Ughhh....! I'm so overthinking this. Obviously, I have to say no.

"Hello?" Mason waved his hands in front of me.

"Huh? Yeah. I'm here."

"You dozed off for a while there."

"Sorry, what were you saying?"

"Faith, we have to get married."

"Okay."

"Okay?"

"Okay? Wait, what? No! I mean, no! God, what am I thinking?"

"Faith, I know we don't love each other, but will you marry me? Do this for our families. We will make an excuse and divorce after a few months, anyway." Mason explained it, casually. 

He made it sound so normal as if he does this at least twice a day.
