FAITH

He hadn't tried to stop me. Neither did he come after me. I mean, realistically, why would he? I was just his lawyer. I was hired. Sure, we had a little moment; but, it was stupid for me to make a meaning out of that. We weren't together.

I walked around not knowing where to go. I couldn't go back home. I could've slept at the bench in the park but Mason was there. I'll just go to another park.

"Hey, lady. What are you doing out here at this time?" I heard a gruff voice call out behind me.

"What's wrong with the time? Now, leave me alone before I call the police."

"Ooh, sarcastic. I like that. The police won't be necessary. Just hand me your wallet and I'll allow you to continue your little stroll."

"Who the fuck are you to have a say in my 'little stroll'?" I asked, annoyed. He could take my life here right now and I don't think I'd care.

"Listen, bitch. I don't have time for this. I tried the nice way, but I guess you like it hard, huh?" The man started tugging my bag.

"Help!" I screamed, pulling my bag and hitting the man.

Suddenly, my eyes were blinded by a car's headlights.

I knew it! I knew he'd come after me!

The car pulled up by me and the windows lowered to reveal a little, old lady, "Jump in!"

What the hell? And here I thought Mason would be my hero. I'm so stupid.

I kicked the guy where the sun doesn't shine and jumped into her car.

"Oh my God, thank you so much! You saved me! Thank you! Thank you!" I thanked the old lady a thousand times.

"Little girl, what are you doing out here so late? You're so lucky I happen to have a habit of driving around late at night. Hey, don't give me that look. I saved your ass, remember? Anyways, it's just an old habit I picked up from my son. Where do you live? Should I drop you home, Miss..?"

"My name is Faith and I can't go home." I stated as I began to explain to her the whole story.

I found myself rambling as the old lady, whose name was Becky, took me to her house.

Becky made me tea and listened to me as I cried and complained. She set up a place for me to sleep. I couldn't thank her enough.

48 missed calls?!

The sun was shining bright and disturbing my sleep but when I saw my phone exploded with missed calls, I fell off my bed.

I looked at who had called me:

Hope 12

Jocelyn 11

Mom 3

Dad 2

Dylan 2

Mason 18

I texted Hope and Jocelyn a reassuring message and ignored the rest.

"Becky, good morning. Mhm... It smells delicious."

"Faith, good morning to you, too. Come, sit down."

I sat down and she took a seat next to me.

"Faith, dear. You're welcome to stay here. However, I believe you should head home. I get you're angry. You have the right to be. But got home. If anything, you know your way here."

"I don't know, Becky. Like you said, I'm very angry and upset. But in one day, you've accepted me as if I was your own daughter. Thank you for that. I will heed your advice. Here are my card and number. Call me if you ever need anything. Okay?"

She nodded and we continued our breakfast. Afterward, I hugged her and gathered my belongings. Becky dropped me home.

"FAITH!" My two best friends squealed seeing me in front of the door. They hugged me tightly and took my bag.

"Take a shower and tell us everything!! You're okay, right? Not hurt or anything? Just in case..." The two girls questioned me.

"I'm fine. Where are my so-called parents?" I asked.

"Um..." Jocelyn mumbled.

"They're getting ready. Josh and his family are coming over in an hour or something."

"Cool." I shrugged. I didn't care. I wasn't going to get married. There was no way they could force me.

I took a shower and told the girls about my adventures. There wasn't much to tell but the girls acted like toddlers listening to a scary, action-filled story.

"Are you two dressed up?" My mom entered the room, "Oh, Faith! I was so worried! I can't believe you came back home. Thank you, my little daughter. I knew we could trust you to not let us down. Do you need anything? You girls better start getting ready."

"Yeah, right. Worried. I don't need anything from you." I stated.

"Oh, wait. There is one thing. Leave and close the door. Please." I continued.

In normal circumstances, I would've gotten my ass beat for this. But I guess I'm too old for that since these two maniacs think I'm ready for marriage.

"Well, what are we waiting for? C'mon, girls, let's get ready." I told the two girls in front of me.

Quickly, their eyes widened double its size.

"You... want to get ready..?" Hope asked, slowly.

I nodded and got up.

"So, you're accepting the marriage?" asked Jocelyn.

"I didn't say that." I smiled, mischievously.

Once my best friends got the memo, they went to their rooms to get ready.

"Girls, our guests have arrived." My mom called us.

Let the show begin.
