FAITH

"Oh my God, Mason. No, no! We can't do that! What if he wakes up! We both have to leave, anyway. Another time, okay?" I pushed him and planted a soft kiss on his cheek. I was nervous as it was. I don't even know what we were. Ugh, okay, time to focus. I speed walked out of Mason's house and called an uber.

"Hey, girls. You two got home pretty early today." I greeted my sister and best friend as I walked in.

"Hey. Yeah, we both got a text from mom. Apparently, we're leaving for New Jersey tomorrow...?" Hope explained.

"Tomorrow?!"

"Yeah, didn't she tell you?" asked Jocelyn.

"No, she told me she would book us tickets for the next available flight but I didn't think it'd be tomorrow. Damn. Well, do you guys know what time? Oh my God, we still have to pack."

"The flight's at 4 a.m." Hope complained.

"What?! Ugh..!!" I groaned.

"I don't think we have to pack that much. It's only for a week. Huh... That's strange. Faith, your ticket is just a one-way flight. Hope and I come back next week. Are you staying longer?"

"It's probably a mistake. Dad'll fix it. Don't worry about it." I waved it off.

"Well, I'm going to pack, take a shower, and sleep."

"Me, too." Hope chimed in.

"Did you two eat?" I questioned.

The two girls nodded. I hadn't eaten, but I was too lazy to.

We all distributed to our respective rooms and started packing. I decided to pack light since I had stuff back home. I took a shower and laid out my outfit for tomorrow.

As I laid in bed, I thought about back home. Mom's voice sounded urgent, demanding, and rough. Was it something I did? Was it about Mason? No way, how does anything have to do with him? I guess we'll see tomorrow.

And soon, I was drifted off to a nice sleep.
