FAITH

"Damn, girl. You are fine." I heard someone call to me, as I walked down the hall.

I gave a quick glance to the guy and noticed that he was shamelessly checking me out. Rolling my eyes, I ignored and continued walking.

"Faith?" An all-too-familiar voice called behind me.

"Gabe?" I turned around.

The little boy ran to me and gave me a hug.

"How've you been, babe?" I asked him, ruffling his hair.

"Uncle Mason said I was going to spend the whole day with him! That means I can be with you, too!" the adorable little kid shouted in joy.

"Of course! But, we need to be a little quieter in here, okay? Where's Mason?" I asked.

"Right here. You  need to come to my office now." Mason ordered, harshly.

Gabe and I followed him, running to catch up on his big steps.

"Gabe. You wait in Faith's room. We'll be right with you, okay? Faith, go to my room." Mason commanded.

Jeez, this guy knows nothing more than ordering people around, even 7-year-olds.

Gabe and I followed his commands. Mason shut his door and walked closer to me, anger clearly visible on his face.

"Uh.. Mason, I don't understand what's happening. We were on good terms the last time we talked." I stuttered.

"You don't understand?" Mason mocked me.

"You're so fucking confusing, Mason. Tell me why you're mad."

"Faith. What are you wearing? Did you not see the guy? He was literally stripping you with his eyes!" Mason raged.

I suddenly felt insecure. I have no clue why, but I didn't know I had that much attention on me.

"Faith, grab your stuff. We're going shopping. You can't walk around like that."

Okay, he's becoming a little extra. We're literally just new friends. He has to calm his tits.

"Woah. Mason. Hold up, calm down. What I'm wearing doesn't concern you. I'll just wear a long cardigan over."

"Faith..."

"I think I should start working on the case." I left the room but walked to the bathroom, instead.

Unbelievable. Sure, he was protective and, yes, it was cute. But, he crossed the line there a little bit.

I looked at myself in the mirror. I understood what he meant. The tight pencil skirt showed off my curves, dangerously. I buttoned my top 2 buttons of my blouse to cover my cleavage and pulled down my skirt. I wore my cardigan and walked to my room.

"Faith? Why is Uncle Mace mad?" Gabe asked.

"He's not mad, baby. He was just a little worried about me." I answered.

"Why?"

Before I could even try to find an excuse, I was interrupted.

"Gabriel. Your uncle is calling you to his room." Linda, the secretary, informed.

I gave him a smile as he left my room.

I immediately got started on work. I didn't even take a lunch break.

Maybe it was because I had a lot on my plate already (ha, you see what I did there lol),  or it was the fact that I didn't want to face Mason, but no matter the reason, I spent the whole day in my room.

And when my shift was over, I sneaked out like a little child stealing cookies without getting caught by his parents.

What can I say, Mason really gets to me.

It really is unhealthy.
