16. Mariah
I can't live, if living is without you
I can't live, I can't give anymore
Someone was belting out Mariah Carey in an attempt to scare away the birds, or perhaps kill them. At least, that's how it sounded to others who were within earshot.
But the man didn't care. So what if he was slightly tipsy and off-key? Many people cannot even sing half as good as him when sober.
"I think you've had enough, Taehyung," Bang Si-Hyuk admonished. "I will get one of your friends to take you home."
"But I don't want to!" The intoxicated male said, following his whine with a stomp of his foot.
"You are in no state to be staying here," the CEO of BigHit Entertainment insisted. "Besides, I have some business to attend."
"Oh, there you are, Tae!"
Both men looked up at the tall, gangly figure who approached their table, his hair barely combed and his clothes seemed hurriedly put on.
"Thank goodness you're here!" Bang PD exclaimed, more relieved than excited to see Park Bo-Gum squinting at Taehyung, who couldn't even register his friend's presence.
"Sorry, I came here as fast as I can," Bo-Gum said. "But what the hell happened?"
"Beats me, he's your friend so I will leave him up to you." Bang PD stood up and patted the boy's shoulders.
"But wait!" Bo-Gum interjected as he scanned the area. "Where's the rest of the gang?"
"They're traitors! I tell you, traitors!" Taehyung's head suddenly fell back and then forwards, as both men became confused at the sudden outburst.
Bang PD continued. "They all went their separate ways earlier, some to another party but most returned to their dorm to rest. So, I trust you will take care of this?"
"Don't you worry, boss!" Bo-Gum said, flashing his teeth. "He's in good hands."
