"SHE'S GOING ON A DATE WITH POINTY CHIN!" Romelle screamed. Oh.

"Lance?!" I looked to the side. "Weird." It's over. Forget it. Forget all of it! Why would I ever think he'll like me?!

"We wanted some help finding your earthling courting attire."

"That would be the mall, it has all kinds of stuff." I said defeated. If only I asked him sooner. "I'd love to go, but uh I'm grounded."

"I didn't know earthlings can float!"

"We don't. It just means I'm under the watch of my mother until a period of time." My mom! She knows!

"She thinks going to space without her mother's permission is an activity for a 15 year old." My mom told them. I forgot she was here.

"Please Mrs. Holt, we promise to keep Pidge grounded!" Romelle begged.

My mom turned to me, I could tell she could see right through my eyes. She could see that I was upset.

"Please mom?" I shouldn't had said that.

"Oh fine. Only because Katie hates shopping."

"Oh thank you!" Romelle beamed.

"Thank you Mrs. Holt." Allura said. Not moments later they both left. I was on the verge of crying.

"Katie are you sure about going?"

"Yeah of course, why wouldn't I be?" I croaked. My throat felt dry.

"Because your going to help Allura find an outfit to wear on her date with the boy you like for how many years?"

"He's happy with her. Isn't that what matters the most?"

"Sweetie." She walks over to me. "But what matters to you?"

"That he's happy. I mean let's face it, he was never going to say yes to me."

"You don't know that."

"No mom. I do know that. Tonight was the last day before we headed off anyway. I should've expected him to ask her now. Hunk probably pressured him to do it."

"You don't have to go if you don't want to."

"No, I'll be a good friend. I'm going to help her." I sniffled.

"Oh, Katie." My mom hugged me and I broke out in tears. I may have been silent, but I felt as if I was screaming.

"You seem off. What's wrong?"

"Nothing, Hunk. I'm fine."

"You know you can't lie to me. Your terrible at it."

"I'm fine, really."

"Are you sure?"

"Look can we just drop it?!"

"Ok jeez." He paused. "Did you hear? Allura finally said yes to Lance."

"Oh? I didn't know." I smiled softly at the table. Why? Why does life have to be so unfair?

"Yeah. Tonight they're going to the park."

"The park?"

"Yeah. Apparently there is something there he wants to show her after the dinner."

"Dinner?"

"Oh, Allura is having dinner with Lance's family."

"His family." I mumbled. I haven't even met them.

"Yeah, they're nice people. I guess you've only met Veronica though, huh?"

" Yeah, he never really introduced me to them. I guess he was busy." I chuckled sadly.

"Now there is something definitely wrong. Pidge, you can tell me."

"Have you ever fallen in love with someone, only to realize you never had a chance with them?" I looked up at Hunk. "Who would go out with someone like this anyway?" I pointed towards my hair.

"Pidge, your a great person."

"Well obviously not great enough."

"You can still prove to this guy that your amazing!"

"There's no point now. Can't beat an Altean princess anyway."

"Wait? Lance!"

"Yeah, I guess it was pretty dumb of me to think he would like me back. He has a type."

"No. Lance doesn't just look on the outside, he looks on the inside as well."

"He thinks of me as a sister. He told me himself when Matt said we'd make a good couple."

"You still have a chance!"

"Are you serious?! We both know you'd just be setting me up for disaster."

"There's still time left!"

"Who's side are you on? I know you want Allura and Lance to be a thing. You don't have to be nice to me." I knew he never liked me.

"I want to do something  sweet for her, but I just don't know what. She's been under a lot of stress lately."

"You should get her a gift."

"Like what?"

"I don't know." I look down. "I can help you make one."

"Pidge that's a great idea!"

"No problem, Lance."

"You are amazing." Lies.

"Well of course I am!" But not that amazing to get you to like me back.

"Well go talk to her! She's probably waiting for you anyway." I push Lance out of the gardening room.

"I am so STUPID!" I fell to the floor. "He likes Allura. I'll just have to accept it!" Tears rolled down my face. "At least he's happy." I heard the door open and I quickly scrambled back on my two feet and starting wiping tears.

"Oh hey Pidge, sorry to bother you, but do you know where your mom is?" Nadia asked me.

"No, not at the moment." I sighed.

"Are you ok?" I heard footsteps coming closer to me. "Kinkade, turn off the camera." She whispered.

"Yeah it's just something happened, but I'm fine though."

"Want to talk about it?"

"Actually, that would be nice." I smiled.

"So what's up?"

"I'm sorry for delaying you on your documentary."

"It's fine. Kinkade is working on it right now while we talk. So what's up?"

"Remember when you said if I ever had any boy problems, I'd come to you?"

"YOU LIKE SOMEONE!"

"Yeah, but I wish it was that easy."

"You gotta talk to him, ASK HIM OUT! When we bought Allura's outfit we would've bought yours. You look amazing in what your wearing anyway."

"But he-."

"Now who is it? Hmmm Hunk? KEITH? Is it Keith?" Nadia interrupted.

"No its not him."

"James? Kinkade? Is that why you made him leave?!"

"ITS LANCE!"

"Lance. LANCE?! But he's dating Allura!"

"Yeah. He loves her."

"Why didn't you say something before?" She placed her hands on my shoulders.

"Because I'm so used to keeping it a secret."

"How long have you liked him for?"

"Since we met at the Garrison to become cadets."

"THAT LONG?!"

"Yeah, but when we went into space I saw that he liked Allura. He was so happy around her, I couldn't mess that up."

"But you've liked him since forever. There was still time to say something."

"Nadia. He loves Allura and she loves him back. Did I love him too? Yes. It breaks my heart whenever he talks about her or when I see them together."

"Then why'd you offer to come with us to the mall."

"It's so she could be happy going on a date with him. So he would be happy with her. If I said something, who knows what would happen."

"Are you hearing yourself right now?! You're not taking any of our feelings into account! Yeah they'll both be happy, but what about you?!"

"I just have to live with it. It's better this way anyway. Two people are happy in the end."

"I can't believe you. I thought you were supposed to be the smart one."

"I guess not."

"Your going to tell Lance that you've liked him since forever and tell him to be happy with Allura, is that ok?"

"Nadia, I can't thank you enough for helping me, but I can't do that."

"I'll be with you. Not standing right next to you, but I'll be a corner away."

"I'm not so sure about this."

"I know it seems like I'm pressuring you, but I think this will help you as well."

"Ok. I'll do it."

"OK LETS GO!" Nadia grabbed my arm and started pulling me out of the room, she was searching frantically for Lance and we happened to find him, but he was with Allura.

"That's why I fell in love with you." Lance smiled. My eyes widened.

"I love you too, Lance." Allura responded. They started to drift closer to each other until finally they kissed.

"Pidge are you ok?" Nadia whispered and that's when I noticed I was crying. "Pidge?" I ignored her and started walking up to Lance and Allura.

"I'm sorry for interrupting uhhhh whatever this is." I stated while the both of them jumped up and pulled apart.

"Oh Pidge you scared me!" Allura sighed then she looked at me. "Are you crying?"

"Oh. Yeah I guess I am."

"What's wrong?!" Lance said.

"Nothing. I just had to get something off my chest."

"What is it?" Allura questioned.

"I- uh." I looked back at Nadia, she was holding her thumbs up. "I'm happy for you two. I guess I never really said it to you."

"Oh you didn't have to, but thank you Pidge."

"Yeah no problem. I'm glad you guys got together, I thought Lance would be hung up on you forever. I'm just happy that he's happy." I smiled and tried to wipe away my tears.

"Aww thanks Pidge!" Lance broke out in tears and grabbed me in a hug.

"At least your happy with her. I couldn't hog you forever. Just promise me that video games will always be our thing." I whispered so Allura couldn't hear.

"Always." He whispered back.
