Chapter 8
I looked over at the people by the register, who were watching me suspiciously. I turned away again, looking at the things on the shelf. I saw another customer come up, talking to the man. While the worker was distracted, I grabbed one of the little plants and ripped the pricetag sticker off the bottom. I put the little baby cactus under my jacket and walked out of the store to my car, driving off towards the hospital.
My mom has always loved cacti, we used to have a lot of them at our house. She has always thought they were really cool, and plus they were really easy to take care of. Maybe they just remind her of Arizona, which is where she used to live as a child.
"Hello, mamma," I greeted when I walked into her room.
"Hi, Frankie," my mom replied, giving me a weak smile.
"I got you something," I said.
I pulled out the little cactus and her eyes lit up as she smiled.
"Awe, thank you," she said.
I handed it to her and she kissed my cheek. I sat down into the chair beside her bed, hearing the beeping of the heart monitor. I leaned back, looking at the chart on the wall to see which nurse was currently on duty. It was Sarah, which I was glad about because she's one of the nice ones. My mom put the baby cactus onto the little table beside her.
"Anything new?" I asked.
She solemnly shook her head and I frowned. My mom reached over, holding onto my hand and giving it a gentle squeeze.
"We really need to talk about me after I--"
"Nope," I interrupted, shaking my head.
Her thumb rubbed over the back of my hand softly.
"Frankie, I love you," my mom said.
"I love you too, mamma," I replied.
She leaned over, kissing my forehead gently with her chapped lips.
"How's everything going for you? School good? And new friends? Maybe anyone new you're dating?" She questioned with a sly smile.
I chuckled, shaking my head. "No one in my life but you."
She gave me a wide smile, giving my hand a gentle squeeze with her own bony one. I leaned over, kissing her cheek. The two of us talked some more, mostly reminiscing about the past. My phone rang and I answered the unknown number.
"Hello?" I asked and my mom looked at me in question.
"Have you seen the time?" I heard Mr. Way ask.
I rolled my eyes. "Oh I'm fine, thanks for asking."
"Just get your punk ass down here," he said.
He hung up and I sighed.
"Who was that?" My mom asked in curiosity.
"That was Donald Way," I replied.
She raised her non-existent eyebrows.
"Why would Donald Way be calling you?" My mom asked.
"I've just been doing some work for him," I said. "Nothing big really."
My mom nodded, giving me another smile. I stood up, kissing her cheek. I headed out he door, waving bye to the nurse that had been walking into the room. Sarah smiled at me, moving to talk to my mom.
I walked out of the hospital, going to my car. Traffic filled the road and I groaned, leaning back in my seat, turning up the radio and lighting a cigarette as I was stuck in gridlock.
Thirty minutes later and I had finally made it to the Way household, which should've been a ten minute trip. I walked inside after Mikey opened the door for me and noticed it gone mostly empty.
"My parents are at their dinner," he said. "My dad left a note for you."
He handed it to me and I saw that it was just a list of stuff for me to do. I rolled my eyes, shoving the small paper into my pocket.
"I'm gonna be leaving soon too," Mikey continued. "So just like, don't steal anything or something."
I stuck up my middle finger, going into the living room to vacuum. As I finished up with that, I shut it off and heard voices in the other room.
"Mikey, guess what!" Gee exclaimed. "I made a new friend today!"
"Gee! That's great!" Mikey said proudly. "Who is it?"
"His name's Ray, he's really nice and has really curly hair," gee said. "He also introduced me to his friends! I'm gonna have so many friends!"
"Of course you will, you're perfect, everyone would want to be friends with you," Mikey said. "But I have to get going now, I told Tyler id meet him at the comic store."
I peeked around the corner and saw Gee pouting.
"Do you have to?" Gee asked. "You said you would tell me a story."
"I'll tell you before bed, okay?" Mikey asked and gee nodded sadly. "Good, love you, Gee."
Gee repeated it quietly and Mikey smiled, rubbing his hair and kissing Gee's forehead. Mikey turned and walked out, which is when Gee noticed me. He crossed his arms and sent me a sour look.
"I'm still mad at you," he stated.
He huffed, turning and going up to his bedroom. I rolled my eyes, pulling out he list again. Oh great, I get the fabulous job of scrubbing the toilets. I went into the bathroom, grabbing the toilet brush and cleaner.
After a few minutes, I heard a large thump and a crash. I heard Gerard shriek, making me immediately drop the brush and head upstairs to investigate. In Gee's bedroom, I saw Gerard kneeling on the ground with his back to me, his body shaking as he cried.
"Gee? What's wrong?" I asked.
He turned, jumping to his feet and running to wrap his arms around me. My eyes widened in shock as I awkwardly patted my head.
"He's gonna be so mad at me," Gerard cried.
"Who?" I asked.
"Mikey!" Gee exclaimed. "He told me not to touch it but I did and I broke it! He's gonna hate me!"
"Okay, let's see the damage," I said.
He let go and pointed to a spot on the ground. Sitting there was a superman action figure with its head broken off. I took the ceramic figurine into my hand and examined it.
"I think I can fix it," I said.
"Really?" Gee asked hopefully with wide eyes.
"Yeah, I just need some glue," I said.
Gee smiled, giggling and tugging on my arm, dragging me down to the kitchen. I sat down at the table as he went into a closet, returning with a hot glue gun. Luckily, I was sat by the wall so we could plug it right in as Gee sat next to me.
"Mikey won't even know?" He asked worriedly.
"Not at all," I stated.
Gee smiled as we waited for the gun to heat up.
"Frankie?" He asked.
"Hm?"
"Why were you so mean to me today?" He asked sadly. "You said I was nothing and that made me sad."
I looked at his gloomy eyes and his quivering lip.
"I was just being grumpy," I lied.
"So you don't hate me?" He asked.
"No, of course I don't hate you," I denied, and this time it wasn't a lie.
The gun was heated up by then as I began to spread it onto the broken part of the body.
"No offense, but you were being a butt head," he said.
I chuckled, looking at him as I pressed the head against the body.
"Yeah, I was being a butt head," I agreed.
I held the two pieces together as I waited for it to dry. Gee was sitting beside me happily, swinging his sock-clad feet.
"Gee?" I asked and he hummed in response.
I set the body down when I thought it dry enough, seeing that it looked mostly okay except for the very faint crack line.
"Did I give you your first orgasm?" I asked.
Gee's eyes widened as his cheeks went bright red. I smirked, thinking that he was actually quite adorable.
"M-maybe," he admitted in embarrassment. "O-okay yes."
"What about your first kiss?" I wondered. "Have you ever kissed someone before me?"
Gee's face turned an even darker shade of red as he shook his head. Wow, I was this kid's first kiss and first orgasm.
"How could anybody resist you at that fancy boarding school of yours?" I asked. "You're sexy as fuck."
"People didn't like me at my old school," he said sadly. "They all thought I was weird, I was the only boy who wore the girls uniforms."
I smiled gently, rubbing his back.
"Don't you ever listen to them, Gee, you're perfect and they're just jealous," I said.
"Really?" He asked hopefully.
I tilted his chin up, smirking and nodding. I leaned in, connecting our lips. Gee smiled into the kiss as I pulled him over so he sat sideways on my lap. One of my hands rested on the small of his back and my other on his thigh while Gee had his arms wrapped around my neck.
"I like kissing you," Gee whispered with a small giggle.
"Yeah? Did you like how I made you feel last time?" I asked quietly and Gee nodded. "I can make you feel so much better, baby."
I trailed my hand up under his skirt, his nervous giggles stopping as he bit his lip, a small whimper emitting from him. I kissed him again, our lips molding together. I could sense his lack of experience, the stutter of hesitation as he copied what I did. I bit on his bottom lip, tugging it back gently before letting it spring back into place.
"Frankie," he said quietly in a shaky voice.
"Nuh uh, you know who I am," I said.
"Daddy," Gee whispered.
"That's right, baby, and daddy's gonna make you feel so good," I said.
I palmed him through his panties, hearing him moan.
"Good boy, I love hearing those sounds you make," I muttered.
There was a sound outside the door and we heard the door open. Gee jumped up, his cheeks blazed red as he tugged his skirt down.
"I'm home!" Mikey called.
I ran a hand through my hair, and Gee hid the action figure behind his back. Mikey walked into the kitchen, freezing when he saw us.
"What's behind your back, Gee?" Mikey asked.
"It's a secret, don't tell anyone," Gee whispered.
He slowly backed out of the room, still making eye contact with Mikey. As soon as he was out of sight, we heard him take off running. I tried to tug my shirt down a little bit in hopes to cover the semi in my jeans.
"Are you done with everything?" Mikey asked.
"Yes," I lied.
I have barely done anything.
"Okay, you can go then," he excused.
I rolled my eyes, brushing past him as I walked out of the house. As I was walking to my car, I looked back at the house. Gee was standing on the balcony attached to his bedroom. He smiled, giving me a small wave. I waved back, getting into my car and leaving him behind, knowing that I'd have to fix the problem in my pants once I got home.
