Chapter 26
Gee wasn't at school the following Monday. I was just getting ready to leave the building at the end of the day. My hands were clad in skeleton gloves, the ones that covered my whole hand and wasn't just cut off. You see, I thought it'd be easier to get nail polish off but it really isn't. I thought that after Gee painted my nails I can just take it off once I got home. Unfortunately, that didn't really work so I wore these gloves to cover them.
"Faggot," someone muttered, bumping into me as he walked passed.
I glared at the back of Brendon's head. I clenched my fists, walking out of the building to my car. I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself as I drove to Gee's house. There was only one car in the driveway when I pulled up. I ran around to his window and called him.
"Open the door for me, baby," I said when he answered.
"Go away," he muttered sadly.
He hung up and I sighed. I walked to the front door, ringing the doorbell multiple times. The door swung open and revealed Mikey. He looked confused at first, then slightly upset. I pushed passed him and into the house.
"Hey, what the fuck?!" Mikey exclaimed.
I hurried up the stairs and over to Gee's room. The door was locked so I resorted to knocking.
"Gee, open the door, Princess," I said.
Mikey pulled on my arm and I looked at him.
"Why the fuck are you in my house and bothering my little brother?" Mikey asked.
I ignored him, turning back to the door and knocking again.
"C'mon, Baby Gee, open up," I said.
"Wait, are you the reason he's all sad?" Mikey asked. "I could kill you for hurting him."
The door opened up a crack and I saw Gee standing there, his face a mess of tears.
"Please don't hurt him, Mikey," Gee squeaked.
I pushed into the room, shutting the door before Mikey could say anything and locked it. Gee threw himself down onto his bed, crying quietly into his pillow. I sat beside him and gently rested a hand on his back.
"Baby, I'm sorry," I muttered.
"I told you I loved you and you didn't say it back," Gee said.
"I know, baby boy, I'm sorry," I apologized.
"Why? Do you not love me?" Gee questioned, looking up at me.
"It's not that I don't love you baby, it's just...I don't know, I don't know what I feel exactly, it'd be easier to explain the taste of water than to explain my feelings for you," I said.
"But whenever something gets too serious you run," gee said. "You didn't have to run away."
He got up on his knees in front of me, wiping away his tears and sniffling quietly.
"Why do you do that, daddy?" He asked. "Because Mikey's therapist said the boy he has problems with does it because he's scared. Are you scared too, daddy?"
"No," I said quickly. "I'm not scared of anything."
Gee looked even sadder by this. He hugged me tight, burying his face into my neck. I could feel his tears on my skin while he did.
"It's okay if you're scared, daddy," he whispered. "Everyone gets scared, I get scared too a lot."
I wrapped my arms around him, not wanting the chance of losing him again.
"I love you, daddy," Gee muttered.
"I know, babydoll," I replied, kissing the top of his head.
He pulled away and I wiped away his tears gently, my glove covered hands completely in contrast to his pale skin.
"Why do you have gloves on?" Gee asked.
I looked down at the skeleton print and saw how Gee's eyes watered again.
"You were covering up your nails I did for you," Gee remarked. "A-are you embarrassed by me?"
"Well, I just didn't want other people seeing my nails all pretty and nice because not everyone would like it," I said.
"Are you embarrassed to have your nails painted?" Gee asked.
I looked at his big, sad eyes and I couldn't find it in myself to lie.
"I'm sorry, baby, I am a little bit," I admitted. "But here, I'm not embarrassed in front of you."
I took off the gloves, revealing the pink nail polish.
"It's okay, daddy," Gee mumbled. "I can take it off for you."
He went into his bathroom, coming back with a bottle and some cotton balls. He didn't say anything as he took off my nail polish with the liquid. When he was finished, he set the bottle aside. I kissed his forehead and Gee looked up at me.
"Is that why you don't want to go on a date with me in public? Are you embarrassed by me?" Gee questioned.
"I do want to go on dates with you, sugar, I just don't want people to be mocking us or anything," I said. "I mean, you know how this town is."
Gee got up and went to his closet. A few moments later he came back out. He was now dressed in a pair of black jeans with my hoodie that he was still wearing. He got onto the bed and I frowned.
"People won't bother us as much if I dress like a normal boy," Gee said.
"But that's not what you like to wear," I pointed out.
"But at least I get to go on a date with you," he said. "That's all I want to do, daddy, I wanna go on a date with you."
I gave him a soft kiss, running my hand through his hair.
"I know you do, baby," I said quietly.
"C-can we please cuddle?" Gee asked.
I smiled and nodded. Gee snuggled up into my arms, a small smile on his face.
"I don't want you to run away again," gee said.
"I won't, princess, I promise," I said.
I stroked his hair softly, his head resting against my chest. His arms held me tight, clearly not ever wanting to let go. He had his eyes shut, the eyes that were red and puffy from all the crying he had done. I grabbed the pacifier on his nightstand, handing it to him. Gee gladly took it and I smiled down at him as he closed his eyes again.
I thought about him and how I had almost lost him just now. I mean, this wasn't anything dramatic or completely terrible, but saying I love you is a big thing in every relationship. And, in total honesty, I just couldn't bring myself to say it back to him. I just don't want to become too attached because I know if I do then he's gonna be taken from me. That always happens because that's just the way the world works. You might as well not love anything because of how painful it'll be when they're gone.
"Daddy, why did you hit me when you first met me?" Gee asked, taking out his paci.
I bit my lip. "Because my friends wanted me to."
"If I wanted you to hit someone would you do it for me?" He asked.
"I would do anything for you, baby boy," I said.
"But you still don't love me?" Gee asked.
I kissed him softly and he didn't say more, putting his paci back into his mouth. He hugged me a little tighter, closing his eyes and burying his face into the crook of my neck. Gee reached over and grabbed Flopsy, holding both me and him at the same time.
"I don't want you to leave me again," gee muttered quietly, his hot breath ghosting over the skin on my neck.
"I won't leave you, babydoll, I promise," I replied.
There was a knock on the door and Gee jumped in surprise. He got up to the door, unlocking it to let Mikey in. I sat up against the headboard and Gee came over, crawling into my lap. Mikey stood there, staring at us in confusion.
"What the hell is up with you two?" Mikey asked. "Why the fuck do you have a pacifier Gee?"
Gee looked at him, sucking on the pink paci quietly.
"Gerard is my boyfriend," I stated.
"No, he isn't," Mikey stated. "You're an ass who has no consideration for other people whatsoever."
"Hey, that's mean, Mikey," Gee said quietly.
"No, Gee, he's the one that's mean, he beat up both of us, he's the one person ever that deserves to burn in hell," Mikey spat.
Gee gasped, his pacifier falling from his mouth.
"Mikey, that's not very nice," Gee pouted. "He's my boyfriend, he's really nice to me."
"He doesn't care for anyone, it's always just a fuck and leave for him," he said.
"No, he wouldn't do that," gee said.
"He has and he will with you too once he gets bored," Mikey said.
Gee shook his head. "He wouldn't leave me, he promised he wouldn't."
"He's fucked so many people, of course he wouldn't change," Mikey said.
Gee looked up at me. "Have you really done naughty things with lots of people?"
"That was before I met you, Gee," I said. "I don't fool around so much anymore."
'"So much'?" Gee questioned.
"At all, is what I meant, I don't fuck around at all anymore," I said.
Gee looked at Mikey and frowned.
"See, he's so much nicer now," he said.
"People don't change like that, Gee," Mikey said.
I wrapped my arms around Gee and frowned. I kissed the top of his head, frowning at Mikey.
"Just get out of here already," Mikey said.
"You can't just kick him out," Gee said.
"Well, dad's gonna be home soon and he's gonna be pissed off once he sees Frank here," Mikey stated.
Gee had a sad face when he looked at me.
"I'll see you at school tomorrow, okay, sugar?" I asked.
Gee sniffled quietly and nodded. I gave him a kiss, getting up off the bed. Gee hugged Flopsy to his chest, looking up at me sadly. I grabbed my backpack and walked passed Mikey without a word.
