Chapter 4

PLAN TO ESCAPE DANGER

As Jaeyeon and Eunhye discussed their plan, the tension in the room thickened, their voices barely above a whisper as they strategized their next move. Eunhye's face was etched with fear, her eyes brimming with tears that threatened to spill over at any moment. Jaeyeon's expression was grim, his nerves frayed as he chewed anxiously on his nails.

"By any chance... Did the creature get close enough to attack you?" Jaeyeon asked, his voice hushed with concern. Eunhye nodded silently, her breath hitching in her throat as she struggled to hold back her tears.

Jaeyeon's face paled, his eyes widening in alarm. "Oh no. This is bad news," he murmured, his mind racing with the implications of their situation. "These creatures are not like the zombies we see in movies. They memorize the smell of the person they have a grudge against and go around like crazy looking for them."

Eunhye's heart plummeted at his words, her hands trembling as she clutched at her chest. "No... No. We can't die like this," Jaeyeon exclaimed, his voice tinged with panic as he helped her to her feet.

"We have to confuse him in the least," Jaeyeon continued, his mind working furiously to devise a plan. "What if I cover you up with perfume?"

Eunhye blinked in surprise, her tears momentarily forgotten as she processed his suggestion. "Huh...? Will that work?" she asked, her voice shaky with uncertainty.

"We can't erase your aura, but we can mask it," Jaeyeon explained quickly, his tone urgent. "If we cover you in perfume, it will confuse the creature and make it lose the smell it had memorized."

Eunhye nodded, understanding dawning in her eyes. "But won't he react to the perfume and come towards us anyway?" she questioned, her brow furrowed in concern.

"No, these kinds of grave ups are different from those who hold grudges," Jaeyeon reassured her, his voice steady despite the fear gnawing at his insides. "They only focus on their grudge and grudge alone. Masking the smell won't attract them."

With a determined nod, Eunhye agreed to Jaeyeon's plan, her resolve firm as she prepared to face whatever lay ahead. As Jaeyeon began to spray the room with perfume, the air became thick with its sickly sweet scent, suffocating in its intensity. But in that moment, they knew it was a small price to pay for the chance to survive.

Silence descended upon the room as they waited, their hearts pounding in their chests as they braced themselves for the inevitable confrontation that awaited them. With every passing second, the tension in the room grew, their nerves stretched to their breaking point as they prayed for their plan to succeed.

The room was cloaked in shadows, the air heavy with tension as Sae Joon Hyun and Yuri huddled together, their hearts pounding in their chests. Outside the door, the relentless pounding of the creatures grew louder with each passing moment, their snarls echoing through the stale air of the room.

"It's a creature," Sae Joon Hyun whispered, his voice barely audible over the cacophony outside. Yuri squeezed her eyes shut, her fingers tightening around the door knob as if it were her lifeline. Sae Joon Hyun clenched his teeth, his gaze sweeping over their surroundings in search of a way out. Then, he forcefully pulled Yuri away from the door, her eyes wide with fear as she glanced up at him.

He pointed towards the creature that stood in the room, its snarls filling the air with a sense of dread. Yuri sniffled, her gaze shifting between the creature and the door, her mind racing with fear and uncertainty. She nudged Sae Joon Hyun, her movements hesitant as she mouthed the word 'no.'

Sae Joon Hyun furrowed his brow, trying to decipher her message. 'They can't see?' he silently mouthed back, his eyes darting between Yuri and the creature. She nodded slightly, her breath coming in shallow gasps as she clutched onto her bag.

'Maybe he really can't see?' Sae Joon Hyun thought, his mind racing with possibilities. With a cautious glance at the creature, he slowly shifted towards his right, Yuri following closely behind. The creature remained still, its attention fixed on them but making no move to attack.

'Let's go,' Sae Joon Hyun mouthed to Yuri, his voice barely above a whisper. She nodded in response, her grip on her bag tightening as they made their way towards the window.

Yuri glanced at the window, her heart pounding in her chest as she slowly reached for the railing. With trembling hands, she lifted herself up, Sae Joon Hyun giving her a gentle push to help her across. Then, he followed suit, his movements swift and sure as he climbed onto the cartons near the window.

But as he jumped across, the cartons tumbled over, their contents spilling out onto the floor with a loud crash. The noise reverberated through the room, filling the air with a sense of impending doom.

Outside, the creatures broke open the door, their frenzied snarls mingling with the chaos within the room. The creature inside reacted quickly to the sound of the fallen contents, its gaze snapping towards Sae Joon Hyun and Yuri with a hunger that sent shivers down their spines.

The runway stretched out before them, an expanse of cracked asphalt under the dim light filtering in through the clouds. Sae Joon Hyun's heart pounded in his chest as he gripped Yuri's hand tightly, his eyes scanning the horizon for any sign of escape. But as they ran, a horde of creatures emerged from the window behind them, their twisted forms writhing in the darkness.

"We have no choice! Run!" Sae Joon Hyun's voice echoed across the desolate runway, his command ringing out in the stillness of the night. With a sense of urgency, they sprinted forward, their footsteps pounding against the rough pavement. But the creatures were relentless, their grotesque figures closing in on them with each passing moment.

Yuri's breath came in ragged gasps as she stumbled over a loose rock, her hands scraping against the rough surface as she fell to the ground. Pain shot through her body as she lifted her head, her eyes wide with fear as she realized they were completely surrounded. The creatures, their twisted limbs outstretched, advanced upon them with a hunger that sent shivers down her spine.

Sae Joon Hyun skidded to a stop, his heart sinking as he surveyed their dire situation. With a sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach, he knew they were trapped, with no hope of escape. And as the creatures closed in around them, their grotesque forms twisting in the moonlight, he could only pray that help would come before it was too late.

Meanwhile, Jaeyeon and Eunhye, peering out from the safety of the window, watched in horror as their friends were engulfed by the horde of creatures. Their hearts clenched with fear as they realized the magnitude of the danger they faced, their hands gripping the window frame tightly as they desperately searched for a way to help. But as they watched, helpless and afraid, they knew that the odds were stacked against them, and that their friends' fate hung in the balance.

Eunhye's voice trembled with helplessness as she watched the scene unfold before her eyes. Her fingers clenched tightly around the window frame, her knuckles turning white with tension. "Oh god! Now what? We only have a pole with us. How do we help them?" Her words hung in the air, heavy with despair and fear.

Jaeyeon's eyes darted around frantically, searching for any sign of a solution. His mind raced with possibilities, each one more desperate than the last. "We don't. Let's run to the runway and get the passenger car," he signaled, his voice strained with urgency. Without waiting for a response, he turned and bolted towards the runway, his footsteps echoing in the empty airport.

Eunhye followed him blindly, her thoughts consumed by the overwhelming sense of dread that hung in the air. Her legs moved mechanically, carrying her forward with a sense of purpose that belied the chaos raging inside her mind.

Meanwhile, Sae Joon Hyun surveyed their dire situation with a calmness that belied the turmoil churning within him. Sweat glistened on his brow, his hands trembling slightly with the effort to maintain his composure. He knew that they were running out of options, that their chances of survival were growing slimmer by the second.

Yuri, paralyzed by fear, felt the icy grip of terror tightening around her heart. Every fiber of her being screamed for her to run, to escape the clutches of the creatures that surrounded them. But her body refused to move, her limbs heavy with the weight of her fear.

As the creatures closed in around them, their twisted forms writhing in the darkness, a sense of hopelessness settled over the group like a suffocating blanket.

"There! I see it. The passenger car!" Jaeyeon's voice cut through the chaos, pointing towards the vehicle parked near the runway. His finger trembled with urgency as he gestured towards their only hope of escape. It was a stark reminder of the dire situation they found themselves in, a fleeting beacon of hope amidst the darkness that surrounded them.

With a sense of desperation driving them forward, Jaeyeon and Eunhye raced towards the car, their footsteps echoing in the empty airport. The eerie silence was shattered by the frantic pounding of their hearts, the adrenaline coursing through their veins pushing them onwards despite the overwhelming odds stacked against them.

"It's easy for us to be loud and run with no second thought since all the creatures are surrounding the other duo," Eunhye remarked between gasps for breath, her voice tinged with a mixture of fear and determination. Her eyes darted nervously towards the encroaching horde of creatures, their twisted forms writhing in the darkness like specters from a nightmare.

"Can't we call for help?" Eunhye's question hung in the air, the desperation evident in her voice as she clung to the slim hope of rescue. Jaeyeon's response was grim, his expression clouded with resignation. "You think me and Miss. Yuri never tried?" he replied, his voice heavy with the weight of their collective despair. "They said they'll come. But when they did, they were bitten too. When we called for backup, they refused to come because they were afraid."

With a sense of grim determination, Jaeyeon bolted inside the car, his hands trembling as he fumbled with the keys. The engine roared to life, a symphony of hope amidst the cacophony of chaos that surrounded them. "Hop on," he yelled over the roar of the engine, his voice barely audible above the din.

Eunhye wasted no time, leaping into the car with a sense of urgency that bordered on desperation. Jaeyeon slammed his foot on the accelerator, the tires screeching as they peeled away from the curb. The car surged forward, hurtling towards the encroaching horde of creatures with reckless abandon.

Meanwhile, Sae Joon Hyun heard the fierce sound of the vehicle as it closed in, his heart pounding in his chest as he braced himself for the onslaught to come. The creatures turned around, their twisted forms lurching forward with unnatural speed as they charged towards the car.

"They are coming," Eunhye's voice rang out, a note of panic seeping through her words. Sae Joon Hyun gripped the steering wheel tightly, his knuckles turning white with tension as he prepared for the inevitable collision.

"Grab anything you have and throw it at them," he commanded, his voice firm with resolve. With a sense of grim determination, Eunhye peered out of the sunroof, her hands raised holding a large bag filled with whatever makeshift weapons they could find. Her hair whipped behind her roughly in the harsh wind, a stark contrast to the chaos unfolding around them.
