 A few days later, Kagami is in the park with Adrien. Marinette sees them and runs off.

    Marinette does not tell anyone she saw them together. She feels confused. Plagg claims Adrien likes her so why is he with Kagami? It makes no sense.

     Adrien hears someone run off and wonders who it could have been. He sighs. He thought Kagami was the one he wanted to date, but now he isn't sure.

    "Adrien, what troubles you?" Kagami asks.

  "Nothing, Kagami, I must have gotten something in my eye," Adrien lies.

      "I do not see anything," Kagami scoffs. "You know something, I think you are lying to me. I think you have been doing that the entire time, and I am sick of it," Kagami remarks.

     Kagami starts to walk away. "Kagami, wait!" Adrien calls out.

       "Adrien, I love you, but is pretty obvious you do not love me. I will do you the favor, so you do not have to trouble yourself, " Kagami says.

  "What?" Adrien asks.  "Fine, Adrien, I am breaking up with you, so you can be free to date whoever you love," Kagami yells. Then, she leaves.

Adrien stands there stunned. He can not believe it. Kagami dumped him. He is not sad like he thought he might be. Instead, he feels relieved. Now, he can search for who he loves.

    Yes, I will find her and when I do I will ask her out.

  Meanwhile, Marinette was sobbing. She was upset. She thought Adrien would never leave Kagami because he felt obligated to go with her since they were together prior to the New York trip. What was she to do?

   Plagg smirks.  "Leave it to me, girl!  I will find some way to help," Plagg says.

    "What? How?" Marinette asks.

    "You swore not to tell Adrien," She reminds him.

     "Who said anything about telling him," Plagg remarks.

Plagg flies over to Adrien. Adrien looks up and sees him.

  "Plagg, what brings you here?"  He asks.

  "Yes, Plagg why are you here," Tikki wants to know.

   "I  was wondering, how do you feel about Marinette?" Plagg asks.

    Tikki gasp. She thought the same thing but did not dare to ask. She hopes Adrien will not be angry with Plagg for being so nosy. 

   "Marinette, well, she is kind, talented, amazing, pretty, and her lovely blue eyes remind me of the sea. Her hair is blue too, and she has freckles. She has a nice smile and makes me laugh, and I am happy when she is around.  She dances as well as she cooks. She is well, she is amazing." Adrien says.

  "Uh, Adrien?" Plagg asks.

   "Yes, Plagg?" Adrien asks.

  "It sounds like you love her," Plagg says.

    "I have to agree with Plagg on this one, boy, you sound in love to me," Tikki says. 

      "Me in love with Marinette?  Are you crazy?" Adrien says. He blushes at the thought of her. 

        "Then, why are you blushing?"  Plagg teases him.

       "He is right you are blushing, boy," Tikki remarks.

         Adrien shakes his head.  Plagg goes back to Marinette. Tikki hides inside Adrien's jacket.

            Adrien hears someone crying. He looks for the source of the sound and sees her. He sees Marinette sobbing while she sits by the water fountain. She looks so cute even when she is sad. Wait, what?

           He walks over to her. "Marinette, is this seat taken?" He asks.

    Marinette looks up to see who spoke. "Why do you want to know, A-Adrien?" She looks surprised to see him. "Marinette, why were you sad?" He asks.

    "I am not sad," She lies. "Yes, you are, now tell me," He says.

    "I saw you with Kagami, and it broke my heart. I  knew you could never love me as much as you love her," Marinette says.

    "I do not love her," Adrien says.

   "What?" Marinette asks. "You heard me, I do not love her. I never have loved her. After New York, I knew even more that she was wrong for me. Today, she dumped me." Adrien says. "What she dumped you?" Marinette looks shocked. "Yes, because she knows I do not love her," Adrien says.

     "I suppose that makes sense," Marinette replies. 

  Adrien pulls her close and Marinette gasps. What is he doing?

     "Adrien, is there something on my face?" She asks.

    "No, but I know what should be there," Adrien says.

  "Oh, and what is that Adrien?" Marinette asks.

    "This," Adrien says and kisses her. Marinette is shocked. Adrien is kissing her lips. 

           Marinette kisses him back. She is so happy. Plagg must have been right, Adrien does love her.

          "Marinette," Adrien says. "Adrien?" Marinette whispers. "I love you," Adrien says to her.

      "Awe, Adrien, I love you, too," Marinette says.  "You do?" Adrien seems astonished at her answer.

   "Yes, I always have," Marinette says.

 Adrien places a hand on hers. He smiles when she does not pull away. "Marinette, will you be my girlfriend?" He asks.

  "Yes, Adrien, I will," Marinette answers.

Plagg and Tikki fly around them.

"Well, it is about time you got together!" The kwamis say.

   "Uh, Marinette why is Ladybug's kwami here?" He asks.

  "I could ask you the same question about why Chat's kwami is here," Marinette says.

"Wait, you are Chat Noir," Marinette says.

"Yes, guilty as charged, princess," Adrien says.

"You are  the hero, ladybug, right?" Adrien says. "y-yes," Marinette mutters.

    "I am glad," Adrien says.

"Me too," Marinette says.

"Thanks, Plagg," Adrien says.

"For what?" Adrien asks.

"For stirring me in the right direction, otherwise, I might have lost out on being with Marinette," Adrien says.
