Two Thrones

Tall and proud upon his throne

Loyal subjects all around

Hanging banners adorn the wall

Family colors, green, white and brown

Confetti falls and revelry

Whilst he reads proclamations new

With raised arm and excited voice

He promises freedom to me and you

Patiently sitting on the can

Wife doing laundry outside the door

Towels pulled from the rack

Cats playing on the floor

Cats shred the toilet paper roll

While he reads aloud to his wife

Then yells at the fighting felines

Wondering if he will get some peace in this life

Still both are happy and content

In their own separate ways

One wants peace for his kingdom

The other wants to finish his crap, sometime today
