Before I start, I would like to introduce you all to Rui Watanabe ^, the faceclaim I picked for Drew! I showed you all this before but that was all the way back in Book Three so I decided to bring it back up again to remind you all. 

(Also, I kinda wanna post chapters about my PJO and HP fancasts 👀)

NOW ONTO THE RANT (alternate chapter title could be called "In Defense of Drew Tanaka" lol)

So the Drew in the canon books is just... fucking terrible. She is a rude ass bitch, nothing more. She's practically just a flat character whose only two personality traits are "girly" and "bitchy" and that's it. 

But oh my fucking god... she had so much goddamn potential but Rick just ruined it all, like Rick WHY. 

Let's start off with her background. Apparently, she has always been in camp even before Piper arrived, but huh... weirdly enough she was never even briefly mentioned in the previous books? I wonder why... 

Oh wait, it's because Rick only made her for the sole purpose of making Piper look better. Even the wiki page believes that: 

"Despite being the second-oldest member of the Aphrodite Cabin (only being younger than Silena Beauregard), Drew was never mentioned in the original series. This is most likely because she was created only for Piper to have someone to triumph over." 

Rick never stated why Drew was created and I don't think he ever will, but this is honestly the most likeliest reason why. 

So damn. Drew's character never had a chance to begin with if that was her only reason for existing. Don't get me wrong, I love Rick's works and he's one of my favorite authors ever, but female characters are just NOT his thing. 

Drew fucking deserved better. She had soooo much fucking potential, but she was written so poorly. Her sole purpose was just to make Piper look better, so of course she was never given any other personality traits and her background's fucking shit. 

Like why did she hate Silena so much? They fought alongside each other during the Second Titan War, they were fucking sisters for fucks sake. Yet apparently her only reason for hating Silena was because Silena was a "traitor". 

Okay, and??? That can't be all, Rick, you gotta give us more than that. Everyone else accepted Silena's betrayal in the end, why couldn't she? What was their relationship like as sisters? Why does Drew hate love so much, did it have something to do with Silena? Surely there's gotta be something deeper than this. 

(But of course there wasn't, because again, she was solely created to make Piper look better so Drew needed to look as villainous as possible.)

AND THE ONE THING THAT REALLY PISSES ME OFF WAS HOW RICK DEMONIZED THE APHRODITE KIDS AND MADE THEM WEAK! 

Oh my god, Rick whyyyyyyy would you DO this to them?!?!?!? He never once mentioned that the Aphrodite kids were weak and mean back in the original series. Instead, he made them seem like pretty cool people especially thanks to Silena! She was kind! She was brave! She was a fighter! So why were the Aphrodite kids suddenly downgraded in Hoo???

OH RIGHT, IT'S SO FUCKING PIPER MCLEAN COULD LOOK BETTER!

Rick why do you love Piper so much that you had to shit on a whole fucking cabin, omg I'm so disappointed ughhhhhh  🙄 🙄 🙄 🙄

Oh and the Aphrodite kids are weak and can't fight??? REALLY??? FUCKING REALLY????

In the first fucking series it was literally talked about SO many times that Camp Half-Blood was solely to train the demigods on how to SURVIVE. It doesn't matter if they were gonna go on quests or leave camp borders, EVERYONE HAD TO PARTICIPATE IN THE CLASSES! EVERYONE HAD TO TRAIN!

There is no fucking way Chiron would ever allow an entire fucking cabin to slack off on classes because doing that would be allowing them to die, and Chiron's already suffered through the thousands of other demigods who died under his care. He is not carelessness of enough to let a bunch of demigods slack off.  

And look, for Greek demigods it is literally survival of the fittest for them. They do not have a safe city to live in once they reach adulthood like Camp Jupiter. Their main goal is to just SURVIVE. 

It has always been about survival for the Greek demigods:

* Unaware demigods living in the outside world gotta hope a satyr finds them to take them to Camp Half-Blood or that they have a caring guardian that knows what they are and takes them to the safe haven because if they don't THEN THEY ARE DEAD. 

* Once they're aware of what they are, they gotta reach Camp Half-Blood in one piece. Their scent will increase once they know of their demigodly heritage so even MORE monsters are gonna be after them. They gotta be good enough to survive all of those attacks so they could actually reach the camp or else THEY WOULD BE DEAD

* Not everyone is guaranteed to reach Camp Half-Blood alive, you guys. So the ones who make it there are the smartest, the strongest, the fastest, etc. because again, it's survival of the fittest. Those who couldn't reach camp were, unfortunately, not the fittest of the bunch. 

* And now that they're at the camp, they gotta train themselves too because the second they step outside of the borders, the monsters are gonna be on them like crazy. Not to mention the campers there literally live next to a forest FULL OF MONSTERS. 

* So now they gotta train, train, train, and hope to the gods that they would be good enough to survive outside the borders because if they aren't THEN THEY WOULD FUCKING DIE.

Do you get it now? There is no such thing as a weak, untrained demigod at Camp Half-Blood. They would be fucking dead if they were like that. The kids at Camp Half-Blood are the best of the best BECAUSE THEY ACTUALLY MANAGED TO REACH CAMP AND SURVIVE FOR SO FUCKING LONG.

Also, Drew and Lacy are not year rounders. Meaning they only stay in camp during holidays or summer vacation. They actually leave the borders to go to school and shit. I also wouldn't be surprised if there were other Aphrodite kids who weren't year rounders. 

So you know what that means??? 

DREW, LACY, AND THOSE OTHER APHRODITE KIDS ARE CONSTANTLY EXPOSED TO MONSTERS. And don't give me that "well, they're only kids of Aphrodite so their scents aren't gonna be strong enough to attract a lot of monsters" bullshit. That may be true, but that doesn't mean they don't EVER get attacked. They will still be attacked by monsters, just not as often as Percy. 

There is no fucking way they would be alive if they never trained. They would be DEAD the second a monster finds them since they apparently never trained and couldn't fight. 

(And yes I know Drew had charmspeak and she could've just used it against the monsters, but even charmspeak has its limits and Drew's gonna have to physically fight the monsters eventually.)

Rick may have written them off as weak and untrained, but he literally wrote in the first series that demigods couldn't survive in the outside world if they didn't train hard enough. He only turned that around for the Aphrodite kids to make Piper look better than them, to make her the "different" child of Aphrodite, the "stronger, cooler" one. 

The Aphrodite kids fucking participated in a war, remember? They were smart enough to use perfume bottles at the monster because it disoriented them, but I doubt that wasn't ALL they were doing. They're bound to run out of the perfume, they HAD to have actually battled the monsters and enemy demigods too. 

Gods, could you imagine how Drew felt once she got news of Silena's death and betrayal? She was the second oldest, that meant she not only had to deal with the news of what happened to her sister, but she also had to take charge of the rest of her siblings DURING WAR.

But NOPE, I doubt Rick thought of that because he only needed Drew to make Piper look like the "better" child of Aphrodite. And apparently that wasn't enough so he had to downgrade the entire cabin too 😡

So yeah, Drew and the Aphrodite kids didn't stand a chance once Rick created Piper. What sucks even more is that Piper is just TERRIBLE. Like, if you're gonna destroy a bunch of characters for ONE other character at least make that character worth it, you know??? The mistreatment of the Aphrodite kids became even more offensive since Piper is one of the worst characters I've ever seen. 

Also, I can't fucking believe he killed Silena off... AND THEN GAVE US PIPER OF ALL PEOPLE UGH 🤮

(Piper could've been the perfect psychotic obsessive bitch but noooooo you just had to give her all the traits of psychotic obsessive bitch but never have them get called out throughout the books, smh 😒)

OKAY RANT OVER! 

For those wondering when the fuck I'm gonna update Moros, um..... I made a big oopsies 🥺 So I have the next ten or so chapters made in my drafts, but I realized that there was a BIG issue in one of my plot points that impacted a bunch of my drafted chapters so I have to go back and change them. Some of my chapters only require minor edits, but some need a complete redo and omggggg it's killing meeeee 💀

So I won't be able to update until I get this shit fixed 😭 I hate it too you guys, I was so excited to show you all chapter 22, but I wanna finish fixing EVERYTHING first.
