You Came Back but She Didn't (Part 1)

They say everything happens for a reason. They say the world is destined to keep a balance between crucial pain and exhilarating happiness. Death replaces Life, and Life replaces Death.

And they replaced my Annabeth.

Her eyes were white, cloudy orbs that looked inhumane compared to her beautiful gray eyes. She screamed, she called for me.

"Percy!" She turned side to side trying but failing to see me, to feel me. Every time I got close, she was transported away, making her believe I left her. But it was all her curse and my fault for leaving her. "Why did you leave me?"

"Annabeth, I'm here!" I yelled, my throat raw and scorched from the torture of Tartarus. "Don't move."

"I can't-" She abruptly stopped, standing stiffly. Then I saw the forming puddle of blood forming on her stomach.

Crimson spread across my vision, and Riptide became a lethal extension. The arai turned into golden dust, one after another. Curses crashed upon me, strong and heavy like lifeless waves. I felt my identity being shattered slowly, I felt my sanity turning into madness. I started to lose myself in the pool of pain and curses.

I stumbled to her body in the rocky ground. Her hair was matted with blood and mud, her eyes turned back to their beautiful gray color. But her heart stopped beating.

I screamed. I cried. I begged to all the gods. I prayed to the Fates.

But they didn't answer. They never answer.

Hey Guys!! This headcannon was inspired by the brilliant idea of @Nuzmeyaabdrabboh. I'm planning on making a mini story continuing this headcannon, this was just a 'filler' prologue. If this chapter seemed confusing, it will all be cleared up in the next chapters. Thank you for all your continuous support! Please comment, vote, and share. Thanks for everything!
