Samantha Cook stood at the front desk, the phone sat in her hand like a burden. Her mouth was parted in shock. Was that Lucas? What did he mean?

The girl sighed and glanced at the clock, relieved to see her shift was over in 5 minuets. Sam walked into the back, grabbing her coat and walking to the kitchen.

"Shifts over, dad. I'll see you back at home." The girl said as she quickly kissed her father on the cheek.

"Okay, Sam. Do you mind grabbing Charlie for me?" Samantha nodded quickly and headed back out front to find her brother. Charlie walked through the door, a frown on his features.

"You alright, Charlie?"

"What does Lucas look like?" He asked suddenly, making the girls cheeks flush.

"Uh, curly brown hair, hazel eyes, freckles." Samantha said quickly, not wanting to gush over his appearance. "Why?"

"Because I think he just walked in here." Charlie said, a small smirk making its way onto the boy's face. Samantha's eyes widened as she pushed through the front door. She looked left but saw no one. Then, as she turned her head right, the thin figure of a boy with curly hair was walking in the distance.

Samantha started walking quickly towards him. "Lucas?" She questioned as she neared the curly haired boy. He paused and straightened up, turning around slowly so that he came face to face with Samantha. Lucas scanned over the girls face, wanting to give into instinct and pull her into his arms. But he couldn't.

"Hey, Samantha." He said quietly, walking up to her so they were close.

"You know, I told you I'd kick your ass if you came into the takeout to meet me." She smirked and Lucas smiled widely at the sight of her. In real life, the girl looked even more perfect. Lucas wanted to gush at her beauty but he wasn't sure where they stood.

"I didn't know what to do. You wouldn't let me explain." Samantha grabbed his hand, letting her small hand feel comfortable in his. He glanced down at her hand and blushed furiously.

"Did you just call me?" He stayed silent as he thought of a response. Samantha hoped he would say that he did call and say he wanted her. Who else could it have been?

"Screw it." The boy mumbled and placed his free hand on the girls cheek. "I love you, Samantha. I've been in love with you for nearly a month now and it's been killing me not telling you. I love the way you can always come back with a sarcastic comment or how you giggle at the most random things. I love how you use these adorable Star Wars references or how you just blatantly call me hot. And I love that I can make you blush all the time because of how awkward you are. Heck, I even love your family. I love you Samantha Cook. Not Emily. Not anyone else. I love you." Lucas stared into her eyes intently after his confession, looking for any sort of emotion.

Samantha leaned in closer to the boy she was in love with, wanting nothing more than to finally kiss Lucas Jade Zumann. She pressed her lips onto his, breathing in surprise as he quickly kissed her back. As their lips moved together, Lucas' other hand moved to behind her neck and left tingles that burned her skin. Samantha's own hands moved to his hair, touching each strand, to make up for never being able to touch him before. She gripped onto him tightly, scared he'd slip away and they'd return to the distance they had only ever experienced.

It was like being pulled underwater. Samantha couldn't breathe, but all the while, she never felt more alive.

The two teens pulled apart, breathe mingling as they tried to find air. Lucas wouldn't let her pull away, so delicately placed his forehead on her own.

"I love you too, Lucas Jade Zumann." The girl breathed out in relief and adoration. "Do you know how long I've been holding my feelings in, dork?" Lucas shook his head softly against hers, and pulled his thumb up her cheek slowly. "Those 10 days I ignored you is when I realised I liked you. It's been so hard, you give off mixed signals all the time." At this the boy chuckled, smiling widely at Samantha. "And then when you said you liked someone I realised how deeply in love I am with you. Oh my god this is so cringy, I'm sorry."

Samantha laughed awkwardly and started pulling away but Lucas tugged her face back to his. "It's not cringy." He laughed, making Samantha blush furiously and look at the floor. In real life, Lucas was a couple inches taller than Samantha, so when he tilted her head to kiss her, she had to raise on to her toes.

When their lips touched again, Samantha tugged lightly at his hair. She couldn't get enough of him and he couldn't get enough of her. Lucas cradled her face carefully but pushed against her lips with passion and love. When Lucas pulled away, he glanced at her hopefully.

"Can we go back to my hotel? I can't leave you and I don't want to. I just wanna sit with you." He mumbled whilst placing quick kisses against her skin.

"Okay." She whispered and the boy's lips turned into a grin - teeth and all. He took her hand and laced their fingers together.
