Chapter 1: Running Wild (WIP)
The early summer sun shimmered as it started peaking up and over the hills. I smiled and watched it slowly rise, the clouds being painted orange and pink. I always woke up this early, drawing notebook in my hands, pens or pencils etching and sketching out doodles. I sighed and glanced back down at my empty page. I bit my bottom lip in thought, thinking of what to draw.
I placed the pencil led on the page and drew a single, curvy line and started out with that. Soon, I had my plan of a flower. I smiled at my little drawing. The leaves sprouted pointedly but gracefully filled the page around the flower's wide, curvy, diamond shaped petals. The sun was now like a spot light in my room, shining on my paper. Why couldn't life be like this drawing? Simple. Planned. And put together. "It won't ever be that way," I whispered to myself. I blinked and got off my bed, digging around for some cloths.
A regular blue t-shirt, some jean shorts, and my black converse. I opened my door slowly and walked to my bathroom, past my parent's room. I turned on the shower, and turned on my phone, and my speaker, turning on my music. Maybe today's gonna be better then the school year was. I remember suddenly, that today is the side walk chalk day! A small glow of excitement rises up like fire in my veins. I step into the shower and sing to my music, smiling for once.
After I get out, I get on my clothes and dry my auburn red hair. My pale green eyes reflect back at me like two shining emeralds. I braid my hair, down my back and over my shoulder, tying it tightly at the end. I glance up at the clock. 7:27 a.m. I'll be early to the down town street where the magic of side walk chalking the day away.
