Everything around me starts getting squared. As the world starts to change, I realize that it looks like pixels. Like a world made of pixels! The pixels all start to lose their color and turn black. The world around me is black.

"Where am I?" I scream into the void.

I scream again as a voice sounds in my ear.

"Don't waste your voice here, Lauren. Nobody can hear you. But don't worry, everything will be made clear soon." The voice says.

All the pixels start coming back, fading into beautiful light blues and peachy-yellow colors. Green colors under my feet, and all of a sudden there is a bright flash. My eyes get blinded, and when I can finally blink them open again, all the pixel blur together and a beautiful beach is in front of me.

However, this doesn't look like an ordinary beach...

I turn around and see a large island. Hills rise up and houses dot the area. A bridge connects the island where a river breaks it into two, and I see a path leading to forest, then rising to a mountain.

Maybe I can see where I am from that mountain! I think, and start running.

As I dash forward, I see my feet from under me, and stop suddenly.

"My clothes look... different." I say out loud. They were the same color and style of clothing... but the way they... just.... looked..... kinda weird? Curved?  I can't explain.

Just where exactly am I?

I shake my head and start running again. I run faster as I hit the dirt path.
Out of the corner of my eye I see a house's door open.

I start to skid to a stop but it's too late.
I crash into a boy and behind him a girl shrieks.
"Big brother! Are you ok?" She helps him up as I get up and dust the dirt off my pants. The boy is about my age with blonde hair.

The girl is wearing a pale blue dress with flowers printed on it.
She turns to me angrily.
"Watch where you're going lady!"

I shuffle my feet nervously and say,
"Sorry.... I wasn't paying attentio—"

I was cut off.
"I haven't seen you here before. Are you new?" She asked me.

I look down as I think.
Do I tell them that I magically appeared here?

"I don't really know..." I mutter. "I just kinda...uh.... Magically appeared?"

The little girl gives me in intense stare and then burst out laughing.
The boy gives me a more serious look and turns back to the little girl.
"Come on, Aryll. You wanted to show me your telescope." He says.

I can tell that he wants to get away.

"Can she come with us?" Aryll pleads. The boy sighs, and replies,
"If she wants to."

I glance at the path I was going up, and turn back to the two kids. I nod and follow the two to a large platform/tower thingy.

When we get to the top of the tower, the boy turns to me.

"What's your name?" He asks me.

"Lauren." I reply.
"Lauren..." The boy repeats. "Strange name.
Strange?

"I'm Link."
