Chp 10
The somewhat peaceful early morning was disturbed by rapid knocking on the Mikaelson Mansion door. A very irritated Klaus roughly pulled the door open. He was going to scowl and yell at the person knocking but was cut off, "About time you answered." The exhausted teenager pushed her past Klaus with her luggage in tow. She tossed them down and turned to Klaus, "Now, where's Kol?"
Still scowling at this girl's audacity, Klaus blocked the girl from going further into his home, "Who the hell do you think you are barging in my home like it was your own?!" Both stared each other down as the others came into the foyer. The girl stood her ground, "Don't get all big-bad-hybrid with me, Klaus. I'm exhausted and have been through hell...Literally. I go to sleep next to my husband of 35 years, get shoved into a dream with Qetsiyah and Ayanna telling me to help the one they sent back, and then I wake up in my 15-year-old body a week before the Harvest. I'm tired and I want my husband! Now, I will not ask again, where is Kol?!"
Getting over his shock, Kol was suddenly next to the fiery witch, "Hello, darling." Moving her glare away from Klaus, Davina's face broke into a wide smile, "My love." She wrapped herself around his waist, her face buried in his chest, "It's been a long day of traveling." She let go of Kol's waist and grabbed his hand, "Come on, let's go into your room. There's a spell I can do that will give you the memories of our life together." Davina dragged Kol to his room since she knew the way. It was one way she was able to prove that she was telling the truth. Kol just let her; he was too intrigued by the witch who was brave enough to snap at his brother.
"Well, that was interesting. Never thought I'd see the day where Kol was so compliant," Rebekah remarked as she headed back to her room. The others followed her example and went back to bed. They knew Kol would surround himself with witches since it was one of the ways he could feel connected to the magic he lost when turning into a vampire. Elijah tilted his head in thought, "She said she was sent to help. Seems to me there's more to be dealt with beyond what Mr. Salvatore knows." Klaus runs a paint splattered hand through his hair, "Of course he doesn't know everything. He even said some things happened in New Orleans and he wasn't there. Maybe this witch would be so inclined as to share what she knows before I..."
Klaus didn't even get to finish the threat before Kol flashed in front of his brother and snapped his neck. "Nobody lays a hand on my wife." Elijah recovered from his shock first, "Kol!" The younger brother rolled his eyes, "He deserves so much worse." Kol turned to Rebekah, "And you! You better tell Nik what you did in 1919 before we move back to New Orleans." "What are you talking about, Kol?" Rebekah acted confused. "You know exactly what I'm talking about. Calling a certain Destroyer to our home in hopes of running Nik off so you could cuddle with the riff raff," Kol ranted then went back to his room and his wife, Davina.
"Rebekah, please tell me Kol was not telling the truth. That you did not call our father to New Orleans?" Elijah was losing his composure. By now Klaus had regained consciousness and was going to dagger Kol but was stunned to hear Elijah's question. "Yes, dear sister. Enlighten us," Klaus watched his sister fidget. The brothers knew she was going to try and lie her out of it. She couldn't look either of them in the eyes as she spoke, "Marcel and I called Mikael to New Orleans in 1919. It was only to make you run Nik, so we could be together. It was before you gave Marcel and I your blessing." "Enough! I've heard enough. I would dagger you, but they conveniently have gone missing," Klaus moved to leave but was stopped by Elijah.
"Your foolish endeavors when it comes to matters of the heart has cost this family too much. I can no longer trust you, Rebekah. It would be best if you leave for the time being," Elijah disappeared to his room leaving Klaus and Rebekah alone. "I'm sorry Nik. I just wanted you to run," Rebekah sobbed. Klaus shook his head in disbelief at the one person who always stuck by him no matter how many times he daggered her. "Your actions cost us our home. The life of my adopted son, Marcellus. And for what? A silly infatuation! I agree with our brother, you are not welcome here." Klaus whooshed into his art studio and slammed the door. Rebekah stood in the foyer tears streaming down her face in shame at her actions. She then went to her and packed a bag.
The next day, Damon was called to the Mikaelson mansion. He was in a good mood until he noticed somebody missing, "Where's Rebekah?" Klaus shrugged, "No clue. Running from her shame of betraying her family." Damon was hurt that she would just take off without saying a word to him, "What happened?" "Just drop it, mate. My baby sister is not worth the effort with how fast she goes through lovers," Klaus said bitterly. Damon scowled at the hybrid and made it a point to call Rebekah later and get the story from her. He ran a hand through his hair, "Okay? So, why did you call me?"
Davina and Kol came downstairs at this point. Kol sat on the couch and pulled Davina next to him. He knew she was his wife, but he still considered her teenager. So, he will wait until she is of age before being intimate. Davina understood but pouted since technically she was in her fifties trapped in her 15-year-old body. She cleared her throat, "I wanted to speak with you. Tessa and Ayanna sent me to help you, my husband, and his siblings. Kol has our shared memories and knows what's going to happen. Or at least what happened in the original timeline, and from what he told me some things have been different but not too far from the original." Damon, still upset about Rebekah, just nodded numbly, "So? There's a lot more to do?" Kol snorted, "You have no idea, mate."
After discussing a few more things, Damon went back to the Boarding House so he could call Rebekah. She answered on the second ring, "Damon?" He lashed out, "You could have called me, but instead you take off! What the hell, Rebekah?!" "I had to leave. Nik was going to kill me. Elijah was no better," Rebekah sobbed. "Why is that? What was so bad that you had to leave?!" Damon grew more upset. "I was the one to call Mikael to New Orleans. Myself and one other. But it was a mistake. We only wanted Nik to run but Mikael wanted to kill him. It was the worst mistake I ever made, and it was all for love. The man I loved was murdered by Mikael as he burned our home to the ground." Rebekah ranted.
Damon listened. He understood the lengths someone would go for love. Hell, he went further than that for Elena. All for love. Because he was in love with the innocent, caring girl that dug her way into his heart. "I understand that. More than you know. You still could've given me a heads up instead of taking off," Damon was too upset to keep talking so he hung up. It was foolish, yes, but if he didn't, he was going to say something he'd regret instantly.
His cell phone rang again. Damon was reluctant to answer but he saw it was Enzo, "Hey, Enzo. How's Italy?" "Beautiful, mate. How's the drama?" Enzo wasted no time. Damon sighed, "Oh, you know...Dramatic. So, what's up?" Enzo looked at something in the distance, "I found Lucien. He's an arrogant sod. Surrounds himself with younger vampires as bodyguards like a celebrity." Damon chuckled, "Anything suspicious?" "Nah, mate. His lackeys do all the dirty work. His hands are clean," Enzo took a drink of his expresso. "All right. Keep us posted but don't get too close. He's almost as old as the Originals," Damon sighed. "I will, mate. Update me on all the drama." Enzo laughed. They hung up shortly after that.
Damon and Stefan were enjoying a quiet afternoon when they heard a noise from upstairs. They both whooshed into Stefan's room to find Elena had broken in and made herself at home in his bed. "What the fuck are you doing here?" Stefan was agitated at the girl. Elena had the audacity to lay under his covers like she belonged in his bed. She huffed, sat up, and crossed her arms revealing that she was undressed. "You don't pay attention to me anymore." Stefan growled, "I never did pay attention to you. I don't want anything to do with you! Get dressed and get the hell out of my house!"
Elena's lip trembled, her eyes watering with crocodile tears, "You don't mean that!" Stefan had enough, "You have one minute to get out or I'll throw you over my balcony." The look Stefan had in his eyes told Elena he was serious. Damon stood in the doorway with a smirk, knowing she was getting some of what she deserved. The brothers turned their backs as the pouting brat got dressed. Elena kept her fake tears running, she wanted their sympathy as well as their fortune. When she realized Stefan and Caroline were dating, she grew insanely jealous. She is determined to have the Salvatore brothers to herself, even if it means getting rid of the competition.
Elena wiped the tears away after she was shoved out of the front door. She was devising a plan to get both of them under her control, and she will. She was Elena Gilbert, and she gets everything she wants. Elena's expression darkened when she saw Caroline driving up to Boarding House. Then she smirked and quickly disheveled her clothes and hair, trying to make it seem like she just had the best sex of her life. She was going to ruin Stefan's relationship with Caroline and then swoop in with her caring sympathy and mend his broken heart.
"Hey, Caroline," Elena waved at her ex-best friend. Caroline grew suspicious, "What are you doing here? Nobody wants you here." Elena scoffed, "Stefan begs to differ. In fact, he begs quite prettily." The implication was not lost on Caroline, "Liar. Neither of the Salvatores would touch you with a 30-foot pole and if they did, they would burn it." Elena knew she hit a nerve, "Well, I don't smell smoke from Stefan's room. We fucked on every surface in his room and even the couch in front of the fireplace." Elena didn't say anything else, just walked to her car and left.
Caroline went inside with the intention of confronting Stefan. She stopped in her tracks as a mattress flew down the stairs. She had to stifle her laughter when she caught sight of the brothers. They were arguing about having to touch the mattress and bedding to throw it out. She cut into their argument, "What's going on?!" Stefan turned to face his girlfriend, "Elena broke into the house and laid in my bed so I'm getting a new one." Damon scoffed and added, "She's delusional. Come on, let's get this outside. Her stench is turning my stomach." "So, Elena didn't have sex with either of you?" Caroline asked. Both brothers looked at her in disgust and in sync, "No!"
AN: Short chapter. Rebekah will be back. Damon and she are end game. Elena is not going to give up just yet. Surprise!! Davina is here.
