Crawling Under the Skin

I used the cover art above from my 'Trapped in the Static' comic. If you haven't already, you should check that book out, too :)

"EHhahahahahahehehehehahahahah!!!!"

He laid in the blood, bashing his fists on the floor laughing. He could barely contain it inside of him.

This was what he was meant for. What he always needed.

The itch in his black soul was finally being scratched.

The burning under his skin was finally being soothed being replaced by overwhelming pleasure like tickling or light finger-tips brushing all over him.

It was almost too much for him to handle.

The blood was deep and rich just like what ebbed out of his neck. The color was so pretty.

"Ehhehehe. . . . hehhehe . . .ha. ..ha"

When his laughter finally faded away, though . . . .

There was only silence.

No more screaming . . . .

No more pained breathing . . .

No more heartbeats.

Just him and the sound of his own panting, tired from all the excitement.

Slowly, he frowned, though.

It was almost . . . too quiet.

The tickling feeling reached inside of his chest and it almost hurt. He felt like his heart was going to rupture.

Suddenly, he realized what just happened.

He looked around.

"Huuuh!" Anti woke up laying on his stomach.

He groaned after feeling something wet underneath him, seeing the blood soaked into the sheets.

Panting from the dream, Anti swallowed, tasting his own blood. He was used to the bitter-saltiness of it on his tongue.

What he wasn't used to, however, was this strange feeling in his chest.

What was that?

'Weird' picking himself up, Anti used the clean part of the sheet to wipe off the rest of the blood off his neck. He'd need to clean the mess anyway.

Sniffing the air, he smelt breakfast cooking, 'Maybe I can snag some bacon before that asshole, Jackie, takes the rest'

Those two never got along. Then again, Anti never really 'got along' with any of them.

But he had to tolerate them being trapped as they were.

They couldn't do anything themselves, stuck in Sean's head. In his imagination. Locked up like pets.

Scratch that. They were BARELY pets at all.

'Those idiots might be fine with it but one day, I'll find a way out myself. I've been close before. . .'

Picking himself up, Anti threw on some clothes before heading downstairs with his dirty sheets.

Going through the living room, however, someone suddenly appeared in front of him out of no where! They bumped into each other and Anti glitched in reaction.

"Oh sorry there, glitch!" Marvin snickered, "Didn't see ya there!"

"Hardly able to see if you teleport" He mumbled.

Marvin snorted, "What's with the sheets? Have too much fun, again?"

Anti growled, "Life's a bitch when you constantly have an open wound. Shit gets messy"

"What we talking about?" the hero popped in the room, hearing the two's conversation, "Ah" he saw Anti's sheets and smirked, "Doesn't mean you still didn't have fun"

"Fuck off" he rolled his eyes and went on his way to the laundry room, shoving past them as he did so.

"Hey watch it, glitch!" Jackie shoved him back, "I don't want your nasty blood on me!"

"And I don't much care for you ignorant quips." Before the hero could respond, Anti left.

He threw his sheets in the washer with tons of soap and some of Henrik's blood solvent. The two of them always got blood on themselves somehow.

Then strutting into the kitchen, he saw Chase and Jameson cooking breakfast together while Henrik was gulping down some coffee. All their backs were facing away from him but Anti had a feeling that was on purpose.

Maybe they thought if they couldn't see him, he'd go away.

'Try again, bitches'

Anti noticed Chase was cutting up some onion for an omelet he was making and he took out his knife. He was feeling playful this morning and sneaking up behind Chase, he slammed the sharp end of his knife down by his hand.

"FUCK!" Brody shouted and elbowed Anti behind him, "Ya bastard! The hell you think you're doing?!"

"AHAhahahahaha!" Anti couldn't stop himself from glitching and laughing at his reaction.

Until he turned around.

Anti's laughter fell away quickly seeing Chase's face.

It looked like he had been skinned. His eyes were gone. Multiple gashes and stab wounds on his face and in his chest. Anti's heart picked up as he then looked over to Jameson and Henrik, too, only to see the same.

Jameson had holes in his hands and his clothes were burnt and Henrik had multiple needle and syringes stuck in his body and a rope burn around his neck, his skin pale and chalky looking.

There was blood everywhere. All over them, the food and their clothes.

Suddenly he felt himself being moved and Chase's hand poked his chest.

Anti gave a hard blink and everything went back to normal.

"Hey" Chase had the same concerned look in his eyes as always.

It always pissed him off.

"You okay there, Anti? You look like you just saw a ghost"

"Maybe he did" Jackie came in laughing, "Fucking freak probably saw one of his buddies he killed."

"Maybe it was Sam" Marvin joined in.

"Not funny" Henrik rolled his eyes at their antics.

That was a sensitive topic and they knew it.

'Enough' Jameson signed to them all, 'Can't we all just have one nice morning? Why do you always have to antagonize him?'

Chase glared at Jackie, "We're all stuck here, Jackie. It's not wise to make enemies"

"I mean" Jackie rolled his shoulders back but looked away shamefully, "Sean's already said I'll be in a video next so it won't be long until I'm out for a while at least . .. . but I guess you're right. Sorry, glitch"

Anti just glared at him.

Jackie snorted, "Whatever . . . . Chase's right. You could at least accept the apology."

"The day I accept anything from you is the day you actually call me by my name, asshole"

Everyone around each other. It was rare that Anti would stick around and rebuttal.

"Anti" Marvin didn't want there to be a fight, either, "Sorry about earlier. I guess we're all just stressed"

"You're stressed" Jackie chuckled, "You got to go out before any of us! The first one in over a year, actually"

'I got to leave the last Halloween' Jameson bounced slightly.

"Yeah" Jackie glared at the floor and then looked back up to Anti, "I guess you're in the same boat, too. It's been weird for all of us, Anti"

That was the best apology he was going to get from him.

Anti didn't really seem to give a shit, though. He just grabbed a handful of bacon and left the room, leaving them to wonder in silence what he was possibly thinking.

Truth was though, Anti just had to get out of there.

That itch was there again, crawling up his skin.

He didn't even care that he left his knife in the kitchen with them.

He had to leave before his dreams became reality.

This one's gonna be a bit more of a mystery with shorter chapters. What do you guys think so far?
