Not All Tresure is Silver and Gold

"Dead men tell no tales..." Cotton's parrot said creepily as he stood on the front of the Interceptor.

Finally arriving at the Isla De Meurta, the crew of the interceptor stared down into the dark waters of the Isle. They were sailing through a ship's graveyard, at least a hundred sunken ships laid beneath them scraping the bottom of the Interceptor.

"Puts a chill in the bones how many honest sailors have been claimed by this passage" Gibbs said to Will and Aggie.

Will looked up at Jack who was staring at his compass as he stood near the helm.

"How is it that Jack came by that compass?" Will asked Gibbs.

"Yeah" Aggie said "And how did he get us here if his compass is broken?"

"Not much is known about Jack Sparrow" Gibbs said "before he showed up in Tortuga with a mind to go after the treasure of the Isla De Meurta. That was before I met him back when he was captain of the Black Pearl."

"What?" Will asked "he failed to mention that."

"That would explain why he knew so much about it though" Aggie said.

"He plays things closer to the vest now" Gibbs explained "and a hard-learned lesson it was. See three day out on the venture the first mate comes to him and say everything's of equal share, that should mean the location of the treasure too. So Jack gave up the bearings. That night there was a mutiny, they marooned Jack on an island and left him to die, but not before he'd gone mad with the heat!"

"Ah" Will said "so that the reason for all the..." Will did an impersonation of Jack.

Aggie giggled. "No Will, he looks more like this..." she began to attempt Jack's swaggering walk.

"Reasons got nothing to do with it" Gibbs told them "now Will, Aggie, when a pirates marooned he's given a pistol with a single shot--one shot! Well it won't do any good of hunting or to be rescued. But after three weeks of a starving belly and thrist, that pistol starts to look real friendly." Gibbs put a finger to his head to prove his point. "But Jack he escaped the island and he still has that same shot. Oh, but he won't use it, save for one man, his muntinous first mate!"

"Barbossa!" Will and Aggie said in unison.

"Aye" Gibbs nodded.

"But how did Jack escape the island?" Aggie asked curious.

"Well, I'll tell ye" Mr. Gibbs said "he waded out into the shallows and he waded for three days and three nights, till all manner of sea creatures came acclimted his presence. And on the fourth morning he roped himself a couple of sea turtles lashed em together and made a raft!"

Will and Aggie looked at each other in disbelief.

"He roped a couple of sea turtles?" Will asked, making sure he heard him right.

"Aye" Gibbs nodded "Sea turtles!"

"Sounds like a load of crud to me!" Aggie said "if it's true then what did he use for rope to tie them together?"

Gibbs frowned and seemed to be pondering the question. Then Aggie felt a hand on her shoulder, she looked up and saw Captain Jack looking down on her.

"Human hair" he answered "from my back."

Aggie wrinkled her nose "Not only is that disgusting, but it's just as unbelievable as the sea turtle theory!"

"Can you prove that it's a lie?" Jack asked her.

"No" Aggie said "can you prove that it's true?"

Jack gave her a frustrated look. "Lower the anchor!" He yelled to the crew.

"Young mister Turner and I are to go ashore" Jack said.

"What about me?" Aggie asked.

"You stay here" Jack told her.

"And do what?" Aggie asked.

"I don't know" Jack said "help Mr. Gibbs? Talk to Cotton's parrot? Climb up one of the mast's like the little monkey you are?

"But I don't wanna!" Aggie pouted.

"And I didn't want to bring a monkey child along on this trip" Jack said "life isn't fair!"

"I'm not a monkey!" Aggie yelled.

"Cap'n" Gibbs said "what if the worst should happen?"

"Keep to the code" Jack said.

"Aye" Gibbs nodded knowingly "the code!"

                          ☠💀☠

Minutes later Jack and Will were rowing through the cave entrance of the Isla De Meurta. Will noticed a skeleton with a sword in it's back.

"What code is Gibbs to keep to if the worst should happen?" He asked, slightly anxious.

"Pirates Code" Jack explained "any man who falls behind is left behind."

"No hero's amongst thieves, eh?" Will asked.

"You know, for having such a bleak outlook on pirates you're well on your way to becoming one" Jack told him "sprung a man from jail, commandeered a ship of the fleet, sailed with a buccaneer crew from Tortuga..."

Jack noticed Will looking at the gold coins that littered the bottom of the riverbank.

"...And you're completely obsessed with treasure" Jack added.

"That's not true!" Will said as he followed Jack stepping out of the boat. "I am not obsessed with treasure!"

"Not All treasure is Silver and Gold, mate" Captain Jack told him.

"Gentleman the time has come!" Barbossa said as he sat on a mountain of treasure with Elizabeth beside him. "Our salvation is nigh! Our torment is near an end!"

"Elizabeth!" Will breathed.

"For ten years we've been tested and tried and each man jack here has proved his mettle a hundred times over and a hundred times again!"

"Suffered I have!" A pirate named Regetti yelled.

"Punished we were!" Barbossa continued "the lot of us, disproportionate to our crimes! Here it is..." He kicked the lid off of a stone chest. "The cursed treasure of Cortés himself, every last peice that went astray we have returned, save for this!" He pointed to the medallion around Elizabeth's neck.

"Jack!" Will scrambled to get to her, but Jack held him down.

"Not yet" Jack hissed "we wait for the opportune moment!"

"When's that?" Will asked "when it's the greatest profit to you?"

"May I ask you something?" Jack asked "have I ever given you a reason not to trust me? Do us a favor, I know it's difficult for you, but please stay here and try not to do anything stupid!"

"And who among us has paid the blood sacarfice owed to the heathen gods?" Barbossa asked his crew.

"Us!" They shouted.

"And who's blood must yet be paid?" Barbossa asked.

"Hers!" They roared.

"You know the first thing I'm going to do after the curse is lifted?" Barbossa asked.

His crew chuckled darkly.

"Eat a whole bushel of apples" he said, raising his dagger. "Begun by blood, by blood undone!" He said.

Jack watched from around the corner. This was it. He would negotiate with Barbossa to hand over the pearl and then shoot him with that same shot he left him to use on himself. Jack could finally avenge his baby girl and spend the rest of his life searching for her aboard the Black Pearl. It was the perfect plan...

...Until he heard the sound of footsteps and got smacked over the head with an oar.

"Sorry, Jack" Will said, stepping out of the shadows "but I'm not going to be your leverage."

Barbossa grabbed Elizabeth's hand and sliced her palm.

"That's it?" She gasped.

"Waste not" Barbossa grinned.

He placed the medallion in her hand and squeezed her hand shut around it. Then released it into the chest of Cortés.

Barbossa and his crew waited in anticipation for something to happen.

When nothing happened a pirate named Koehler asked "Did it work?"

"I don't feel no different" Regetti said.

"How do we tell?" Pintel asked.

Barbossa rolled his eyes at his crew's stupidity, pulled out his pistol and shot Pintel right where his heart should have been.

The crew waited for him to fall down dead, but he was still upright and breathing.

"You're not dead" Koehler stated.

"No" Pintel sighed with relief "he shot me!"

"It didn't work" Regetti said sadly.

"The curse is still upon us!" Yelled Twigg.

Barbossa looked at the blood on his dagger and grabbed Elizabeth by the shoulders.

"You! Maid! Your father! What was his name?" He asked her "Was your father Willaim Turner?"

"No" Elizabeth answered.

"Then where's his child!" Barbossa shouted "The child that sailed from England eight year ago! The child in whose veins flows the blood of William Turner! Where?!"

When Elizabeth said nothing, Barbossa backhanded her across the face and sent her tumbling down the mountain of gold.

"You two!" Bo'sun yelled to Pintel and Regetti. "You brought us the wrong person!"

"No!" Pintel said "she had the medallion, she's the proper age!"

"She said her name was Turner, you heard her!" Regetti said "I think she lied to us!"

While the pirates were busy playing the blame game, Will swam over to Elizabeth and motioned for her to follow him back to the Interceptor.

"You brought us here for nothing!" Yelled Twigg.

"I won't take no questions and second guesses from the likes of you, master Twigg!" Barbossa snapped.

"Who's to blame?" Koehler asked "every decision you've made has led us from bad to worse!"

"It was you who sent Bootstrap to the depths!" Added another pirate.

"And it's you who who brought us here in the first place" Bo'sun yelled as he and some other pirates unsheathed their swords.

Barbossa unsheathed his sword as well. "Any coward here that dare challenge me let him speak! Hmm?" He shouted.

"I say we cut her throat and spill all her blood just in case!" Koehler suggested.

Barbossa noticed his pet monkey pointing to the exit of the cave and looked down to where Elizabeth had landed with the medallion, only to find both her and the medallion were gone!

"The medallion!" He shouted "she's taken it! Get after her! You feckless pack of ingrates!"

The pirate ran to the other side of the cave and searched for Elizabeth and more importantly the medallion!

                         ☠💀☠

Little did the pirates know was that on the other side of the cave, little Aggie was poking Jack's face trying to wake him up. He was still unconscious from the rowing oar Will had collided with his head.

"Jack?" Aggie asked, poking his cheek "Are you dead? If you're dead, can I have your hat?"

Aggie lifted his head and dropped it back on the cave ground.

"Hmm..." Aggie grinned "Jack, if you want me to have your hat, say nothing at all!"

Jack opened his eye groggily. "Aggie?" He asked.

"Awww!" Aggie groaned "I was this close to getting my own hat!"

"Aggie, what are you doing here?" Jack asked her "I thought you would have been back on the ship destroying the crew's sanity?"

"Yeah... You thought that..." Aggie said, knowing she was in trouble.

"Aggie..." Jack said sternly.

"Alright, so I kinda... accidentally... maybe... sorta... snuck into the row boat and hid under the seats before you and Will left the Interceptor..." she gave a guilty smile.

"Do you know how dangerous that is!" He asked her "we're not facing normal pirates here, Luv. They're cruel, demented and vicious!"

"I'm sorry..." Aggie said, looking down at her boots.

"I know but you can apologize when we're rowing away from here" Jack told her.

"That might be hard..." Aggie said "Will and Elizabeth took off back to the Interceptor with the boat and the medallion."

"Well, why didn't you try to stop them?" asked Jack.

"I didn't want to get in trouble" Aggie said.

"Oh, wonderful!" Jack said sarcastically "That's just bloody wonderful!"

"I'm sorry" Aggie said.

"I know ye are" he sighed, getting up "C'mon, let's get out of here before someone finds-"

Suddenly Jack and Aggie found themselves in front of half of the Black Pearl's crew.

"You!" Regetti said, spotting Jack.

"You're supposed to be dead!" Pintel said.

"Am I not?" Jack asked, poking himself.

He and Aggie turned around and tried to escape the other way, only to be greeted by the other half of the crew who had pistols and swords pointed at them.

"Parlulay..." Jack said stuttering.

Aggie stared at him and tried to guess what he was saying.

"You have a parasite?" She guessed.

Jack shook his head. "Palu-li-la-la-lulu..." He tried again.

"You want a pastry?" Aggie guessed.

Jack shook his head. "Parlili..." He said.

"Timmy's in the well?" Aggie guessed.

"Timmy's in the well?" Jack asked, raised a brow. "Who's Timmy?"

Aggie shrugged.

"Parsnip... Pasley... Par... Partner... Partner...?" Jack kept trying.

"Parlay?" Regetti asked.

"That's the one!" Jack said "Parlay! Parlay!"

"Parlay?" Pintel glared at Regetti "damn to the depths whatever muttonhead thought of Parlay!"

"That be the French!" Jack said.

"I could have got that!" Aggie said "Wait, what the heck is a Parlay?"

"It means we get to live until we talk to the captain, Luv" Jack explained.

"So they can't hurt us until we meet the captain, right?" Aggie asked.

"Right" Jack said.

Aggie smirked and began teasing the crew. "You guys are all ugly! U-G-L-Y! You're all gonna start to cry! Cause you're so UGLY!!" She sang doing a little dance.

"I swear I don't know her..." Jack whispered to the pirate beside him.
