A Little Bit Of Romance...
☠ Both Dates Shown Above ☠
"So... let me get this straight" Maggie told her Father. "Angelica isn't going to be my new step-mummy...?"
"No, of course not, Lovely" Captain Jack told her.
"Then why are you preparing to have a date with her?" Maggie asked, confused.
Captain Jack and Maggie stood on the deck of the Queen Anne's Revenge. Jack was preparing a small makeshift date complete with a bottle of wine with two cups and accompanying mood-setting music by Scrum and his mandola.
"Because I'm going to have to charm Angelica to convince her to let us off this hell-bound vessel!" Jack told her. "It shouldn't be that hard, after all the last time we had a date I was twenty-six year old. And after all, that was only six years ago."
"Daddy, if you were twenty-six when you last saw Angelica and it's only been six years since then, that would only make you only thirty-two years old?" Maggie asked.
"Exactly" Jack nodded.
"Wow, you look terrible for your age!" Maggie's eye widened.
Jack sighed deeply "Just make yourself useful and distract Diego!"
"Fine! You hang out with your girlfriend and I'll hang out with her hottie of a son!" Maggie said, walking away.
Captain Jack froze from where he was lighting the candles on a nearby barrel. Maggie just called Diego a hottie! That means his daughter, his baby girl, his angel... found a hateful little twerp of a boy to be... attractive?! All you had to do was look at Captain Jack's expression and you could see that all the fatherly alarm bell's that were ringing throughout his mind!
"Hold it right there!" Jack spun back around to face his daughter. "Maggie, dearest... What do you mean when you say hottie?"
"I mean, Diego's kinda hot" Maggie shrugged "he's pretty... in a boyish type way?"
"No... no, he's not" Jack shook his head as he started wringing his hands nervously.
"Well, I think he is" Maggie shrugged.
"No, you don't!" Jack told her "Don't say that! You do not like him! You do not like this boy! You don't like any boys! Boys are gross! No boys until you're married!"
"Daddy!" Maggie whined "You're the one who always told me to live life to the fullest!"
"You can live a full life without romance!" Jack told her "Romance is overrated! Romance is a bad, bad thing! No romance!"
"Daddy, I think we both know this isn't about romance!" Maggie put her hands on her hips and smirked. "It's about you being terrified of seeing me with a boy!"
"I have no problem with you being around boys!" Jack laughed nervously. "Just not boys who are charming or good-looking or your age! In fact you don't need boys in general, you have me! The only male you'll ever need to depend on is your Daddy!"
"Maybe Diego could be my extra Daddy?" Maggie suggested innocently.
The suggestion made Captain Jack's eyes widened and he could've swore his heart stopped beating for a few seconds.
"NOPE!" Jack told her "Now you listen here, lass! You stay away from that boy! If I see you cavorting with Diego, our next Daddy-Daughter Day will be spent going out for ice cream and purchasing a chastity belt!"
"Well, if you're going to be all lovey-dove with Angelica, then I'm gonna start flirting with Diego!" Maggie crossed her arms defiantly.
Jack's jaw dropped. "Oh! So you're just going to like Diego to make me feel bad?"
"Yes, I am" Maggie smirked "Because I know it'll get under you skin to see your only daughter with a boy!"
Captain Jack gawked at her. "That's horrible! That's blackmail! That's pure spitefulness! That's... that's my girl!" He grinned, seeing his own dishonest and deceptive traits in his daughter.
Suddenly they heard footsteps coming up to the main deck.
"It's Angelica!" Jack whispered "Go! Go!" He shoved Maggie to the other side of the deck.
He hurried back to sit on a cannon on the deck and motioned for Scrum to start playing as Angelica showed up on the main deck.
"Hola" Captain Jack said, approaching her. "Come. Little drink?"
"Wine, music, candlelight..." Angelica looked around. "I think we've traveled down this road before, Jack?"
Maggie gagged watching the scene between her Father and Angelica. She needed to do something to get her mind of the cringe-inducing relationship her Father was trying to rekindle. She looked over and saw Diego coming out of his cabin.
Maggie smirked to herself. A little Latin lover... What a perfect distraction! she thought.
As Diego walked over to the opposite side of the deck away from Jack and his mother, Maggie snuck up behind him and tapped him on the shoulder.
"Hi!" She greeted him "Come on, I figured since our parents are already acquainted, we should get to know each other too?"
"A first date doesn't seem appropriate at a time like this..." Diego shrugged.
"Aww! Am I your first? That's adorable!" Maggie cooed, pushing his bangs out of his face.
"You're really weird, Maggie Sparrow" Diego smirked "I'd be lying if I said I didn't like it."
As Scrum started to pick up the tempo on the tune he was playing, Diego did an exaggerated bow and held out his hand to Maggie.
"May I have this dance, m'lady?" He asked.
Maggie looked over at her Father who was already doing a Tango with Angelica.
"You may" she answered, smirking.
As the two children soon found themselves dancing on the deck across from their parents, Maggie found herself looking into Diego's brown eyes. She noticed the way the wind blew through his dark shaggy bangs, suddenly Maggie felt something she wasn't used to. She felt a warm, fuzzy churning deep within her stomach and suddenly she felt all silly and giddy, but she didn't know why. It was almost as if Diego was a puppy and Maggie wanted to hug and kiss him forever.
But wait... Maggie didn't like kissing or hugging. Especially not with boys! Boys are gross, immature morons! This was just a game she was playing to ensure her father wouldn't get serious with Angelica! Diego Teach was merely a tool to keep her life on track, nothing more!
"You're hair looks so shiny in the moonlight" Diego said looking at her.
"Really?" Maggie smiled absentmindedly.
"Of course" Diego grinned "I thought it looked pretty in the sunlight earlier today, but it looks even better now."
"Thank you" Maggie giggled.
Wait, what? Maggie thought to herself Did I just giggle at a boy? Because he complimented my hair? I don't need anyone telling me how good my hair looks! I already know my hair is gorgeous!
As the song ended, Diego took a rose from his back pocket and held it out to Maggie.
"It's for you" He told her "My mamá always said the best way to show a girl you love her is by giving her flowers."
"You love me?" Maggie asked, twirling the rose between her fingers.
Diego's answer came so suddenly, Maggie didn't even have a chance to stop it. It was quick, it was extreme, but it said it all...
...And that was Maggie Sparrow got her first kiss.
☠💀☠
"But there is something on board you do want" Angelica told Captain Jack on the other side of the deck.
"So true..." Jack smirked looking up at her from where he layed on the deck.
"Something else you desire" Angelica rolled her eyes. "Follow me" she told him, getting up and walking towards the Captain's cabin.
Captain Jack followed her across the deck, glancing around to make sure Blackbeard or any zombie officer would see them. As he glanced around, he just saw the usual ship items: Barrels, ropes, Maggie kissing Diego, a few crates here and ther--
MAGGIE KISSING DIEGO?!?!
"No!" Captain Jack yelled "No, no, no and no!" He gave Diego a death glare. "You step away from her right now!"
"What's wrong?" Angelica asked, running after him.
"I just saw your little casanova of a son put his lips on my baby girl!" Jack explained, still fuming.
"He did?" Angelica looked shocked. "Aw, Mi bebe varon! Here let me give you your second kiss!" She cooed kissing his cheek. Translation: My Baby Boy!
"Mamá!" Diego whined, embarrassed.
"Yeah and I'll give him his first throttling!" Captain Jack exclaimed.
"Dad!" Maggie scowled.
"Maggie!" Jack said "The boy has it coming! He kissed you!"
Maggie shrugged "Yeah, so?"
"What'd ye mean 'Yeah, so?' " Jack mimicked her "Yeah, so you're not supposed to be kissing!"
"Dad, relax!" Maggie groaned "you're just making a big deal out of nothing!"
"And you're making a small deal out of everything!" Captain Jack said.
"Huh?" Maggie furrowed her eyebrows.
"Never mind!" Captain Jack told her "We'll discuss this later! Just say goodnight to Diego and go to your cot!"
"Goodnight, Diego" Maggie giggled and blew him a kiss.
"Not like that!" Jack snapped as she skipped down the stairs to the ships hold.
"I think she likes me!" Diego told his mother.
Captain Jack turned and narrowed his eyes angrily at the boy.
Diego noticed and frowned. "I think I'm gonna turn in too, Mamà" he told Angelica.
"Alright, goodnight Mi Amour" Angelica kissed his forehead. Translation: My Love.
"Goodnight Jack" Diego said nervously as Captain Jack continued to glare at him.
"You will call me Sir! You ignorant little turd!" Jack told the young boy.
"Yes, Jack! I-I mean Sir!" Diego said, before running up the stairs to his cabin.
Jack turned when he heard Angelica laughing.
"What's so funny?" He asked.
"It's just so strange to see the overprotective parent side of you!" Angelica snickered.
Captain Jack rolled his eyes.
☠💀☠
Captain Jack came back up to the main deck after Angelica showed him the cabinet of bottled ships. So now he had no choice, he had to stay aboard and help Angelica reach the Fountain of Youth, it was his only hope of getting his ship back. And at the same time he had to dodge Angelica's sinister father and keep her nose-mining son away from his little Maggie.
Jack sighed. Maggie... there was something about that kiss he saw that made him wonder. Does Maggie have feelings for this boy? Could his little girl be in love with the enemy? Is his baby girl really growing up?
As the ship's bell rang and the crew hurried to prepare to go ashore to Whitecap Bay for the mermaid hunt, Jack looked over at Maggie as she talked to Diego across the deck.
They stood off to the side, Maggie giggled as Diego whispered something in his ear.
Jack smiled as she giggled, he heard that laugh so many times over the years, but it never got old. It was his favorite sound in the world.
Seeing Maggie with Diego wasn't what made Captain Jack mad. It was the thought of Maggie leaving him for Diego. It was the thought of a boy who didn't know as much about her as he did, taking her away that hurt Jack so much.
Captain Jack sighed looking at them together. Time seemed to freeze as he looked at them...
(Song is called I Loved Her First by Heartland)
Jack:
Look at the two of you,
Laughing that way...
Lost in the moment
And each other's face,
So much in love
You're alone in this place,
Like there's nobody else in the world...
I was enough for her not long ago,
I was her number one,
She told me so.
And she'll always mean the world to me,
Just so you know,
So be careful when you hold my girl.
Time changes everything,
Life must go on,
And I'm not gonna stand in her way...
I loved her first, I held her first,
And a place in my heart will always be hers!
From the first breath she breathed,
When she first smiled at me,
I knew the love of a father runs deep...
And I prayed that she'd find you someday,
But it's still hard to give her away,
I loved her first.
How could that beautiful woman with you,
Be the same apple-cheeked kid that I knew?
The one that I read all those fairy tales to?
And tucked into bed all those nights?
And I knew the first time I saw you with her,
It was only a matter of time.
I loved her first, I held her first,
And a place in my heart will always be hers!
From the first breath she breathed,
When she first smiled at me,
I knew the love of a father runs deep...
And I prayed that she'd find you someday,
But it's so hard to give her away.
I loved her first!
From the first breath she breathed,
When she first smiled at me,
I knew the love of a father runs deep...
*Wipes away his tears*
Someday you might know what I'm going through,
When a miracle smiles up at you,
I loved her first...
