Parlay With A Side Of Cra-zay!
The next morning before the crack of dawn, the docks of Shipwreck Cove were were full of sailors preparing for battle.
Since Maggie was too young to be fighting in a war, Captain Jack was leaving her with Captain Teague for the day.
"Remember to give her breakfast when she wakes up" Jack reminded his father. "And she has to drink all her milk at breakfast. And don't let her run off alone in town, especially if you're in a large crowd, she will try to pick people's pockets and that can land you in serious trouble. And don't forget to--"
"In case you've forgotten, Jackie" Teague told him "I am your father! I think I know how to handle a child."
"I know" Jack said "but Maggie's more... rambunctious than most children."
Just then Maggie came running down the docks loaded up with swords, daggers, grenades and pistols.
"Oh good, I thought I was gonna miss you guys!" Maggie told them "Alright boys, let's go! Hi-ho! Hi-ho! It's off to war we go!"
Jack grabbed her by her shirt collar. "Maggie dearest" Jack told her gently "I'm pretty sure you're too little to be battling in a big war like this. Stay here with your Grandad!"
"But I want to fight! And I'm all ready to kick butt!" Maggie whined "Look! One of Sao Fang's men even gave me some Japanese butt-whooping sticks to use!"
Jack rolled his eyes, watching Maggie twirl around her new weapon.
"Those are nunchucks, Luv" he told her. "And I don't care if you go in heavily armed, you're still too little."
Maggie narrowed her eyes at Jack angrily. "I may be little, but so is a grenade! And some day soon someone will be dumb enough to set me off and before you know it... BOOM!! An explosion of horrible, vengeful and merciless anarchy will blow everyone away! And finally when the smoke clears... there will be no survivors!"
Jack and Captain Teague looked at one another in a sideways glance.
"You want a cookie?" Teague offered.
"Yes, please!" Maggie smiled.
"Good!" Jack said "You stay here and have cookies with your Grandfather while Daddy goes to fight."
"But Daddy" Maggie whined "I wanna fight in the war too!"
"Maggie, I told you" Jack said, kneeling beside her. "You can't fight in the war. You're too little!"
"But who's gonna fight with you?" Maggie pouted "What if you die?"
"Aww Luv" Jack kissed her forehead "Daddy's not gonna die for a very long time."
"How long you are you gonna live?" Maggie asked.
Mr. Gibbs came walking up to Jack. "We're ready to leave when you are, Captain" he told Jack.
"Just a minute" Jack said to Gibbs.
Maggie's eyes widened in fear, thinking Jack was answering her.
"A minute?!" She shrieked "You only have a minute to live! How are you so calm right now?!"
"No! No!" Jack told her "Daddy's not gonna die! Stop it! Listen, I'm going to fight and you're going do as I say and stay out of trouble, savvy?"
Maggie pouted.
Jack nudged her "Come on, say it."
"Savvy" Maggie reluctantly agreed.
"Good" Jack said "see you later then." He went up the gangplank of the Black Pearl and began giving the orders to cast off.
Maggie looked at her grandfather. "Uh... I'll meet you at the Pirate Hall, I gotta go make a tinkle" She told him, walking off the the other end of the docks.
☠💀☠
As the crew of the Black Pearl stood on deck, patiently waiting for the arrival of their enemies. Everyone had there swords sharpened and their pistol's fully loaded. They were ready to take down Cutler Beckett and end this once and for all.
Suddenly out of the morning fog came the stern of Beckett's ship, the Endeavour.
"The enemy is here!" Marty shouted from the rigging. "Let's take 'em!"
The pirates all cheer in agreement, they all have a strong confidence that they will win.
Then out of the fog comes another ship beside the Endeavour... and another... and two more.
The cheers of the pirates die down as they soon realize that they're fighting a whole armada! There must've been at least a hundred ships!
The pirates all turned and glared at Captain Jack Sparrow, who got them into this situation.
"Parlay?" Jack said.
"We are so screwed..." came a voice beside Captain Jack.
Jack looked down and his jaw dropped. "Maggie!" He cried "What are you doing here?!"
"Oh yeah" Maggie gave a meek smile. "I forgot to tell you... I snuck away from Grand-Dad and stowed away on the Pearl before you left port."
"But I told you to stay with your Grandfather in Shipwreck Cove!" Jack said as he was at his wits end.
"No, you said and I quote 'I'm going to fight and you're going do as I say and stay out of trouble, savvy?' " Maggie reminded him. "And now I can't get into any trouble on land cause I'm not even on land!"
"GAAAHHHH!" Jack shrieked, stressed beyond belief.
☠💀☠
Since Jack had invoked the right of Parlay, Barbossa, Elizabeth and Captain Jack with Maggie in tow, rowed to a nearby sand bar to negotiate. Will, Beckett and Davy Jones, along with his nephew David Jones were awaiting them.
All eight of them stood across from each other, staring each other down.
"You be the cur that led these wolves to our door?" Barbossa asked Will.
"Don't blame Turner" Beckett told them "he was merely the tool of your betrayal. If you wish to see it's grand architect, look to your left."
Barbossa and Elizabeth turned left to glared at Jack. Jack turned left and looked down at little Maggie.
"Maggie! Shame on you!" Jack tried to keep the blame off him. "Making deals with our enemies!"
"I tell you, I don't know where I went wrong with that girl!" He said to Elizabeth and Barbossa.
Maggie glared at him as well as everyone else.
"My hands are clean in this!" Jack lied. He glanced down at the dirt under his nails. "...Figuratively."
"My actions were my own and to my own purpose" Will admitted "Jack had nothing to do with it."
"Well spoke!" Jack nodded "listen to the tool!"
"Will, I've been aboard the Dutchman" Elizabeth spoke up "I understand the burden you bare but I feel that cause is lost."
"No cause is lost" Will said "as long as there is one fool left to fight for it."
"If Turner wasn't acting on your behalf, then how did he come to give me this?" Beckett questioned, pulling out Jack's compass. "You made a deal with me Jack, to deliver the pirates. Don't be bashful, step up and claim you reward."
"Your debt to me is still to be satisfied!" Davy Jones said "one hundred years in servitude aboard the Dutchman as a start."
"The same for your runt too!" David sneered.
"That debt was paid" Jack told Jones "with some help" he pointed to Elizabeth.
"That's right!" Maggie agreed "we did our time in your smelly old locker!"
"But you weren't suppose to escape!" David said.
"Technically--" Jack and Maggie said.
"I purpose an exchange!" Elizabeth piped up. "Will leaves with us... and you can have Jack and Maggie."
"Done!" Will said.
"Undone!" Jack said.
"Done!" David said.
"Undone!" Maggie said "It is so undone, it's rare!"
"Jack's one of the nine Pirate Lord's!" Barbossa warned Elizabeth "You have no right!"
"King!" Elizabeth reminded him.
"As you command, your nibs!" Jack took off his hat and bowed.
"Blaggar!" Barbossa yelled as he drew his sword and cut Jack's peice of eight off his bandana.
Captain Jack and Barbossa glared at one another.
"If you have something to say, I might be saying something as well" Barbossa told him.
"First to the finish, then?" Jack said.
Jack and Maggie cross over to stand beside Jones and his nephew. While Will stood beside Elizabeth.
"Do you fear death?" Davy Jones asked Jack.
"You've no idea" Jack answered.
"Do you fear death?" David asked Maggie.
"Is it as bad as your fish breath?" Maggie asked him.
"Advise your Berthern" Beckett warned them "you can fight and all of you will die or you can not fight in which case only most of you will die."
"You murdered my father" Elizabeth gave Beckett a hardened look.
"He chose his own fate" Beckett said.
"And you have chosen yours" Elizabeth told him "We will fight and you will die."
"So be it" Beckett said as Elizabeth, Will and Barbossa left.
☠💀☠
Captain Jack and Maggie were both thrown in the brig of the Flying Dutchman. Maggie glanced around their cell and pulled a disgusted face.
"Eww!" She said "It's all wet and moldy! I hate it when captors don't at least clean their brigs for their prisoners."
"You know what I hate?" Jack asked.
"What?" Maggie asked, curiously.
"I hate it when me daughter disobeys me and sneaks away from her babysitter to go fight in a huge deadly war in which she could die in!"
Maggie blinked up at him "Well... when you put it that way, it almost sounds like I put myself in horrible danger."
"YOU DID!" Jack shouted.
"Well, why didn't you tell me that when you were leaving port?" Maggie asked.
"I DID!" Jack shrieked.
"You did?" Maggie asked.
"YES!" Jack told her.
"When did you mention that?" Maggie asked. "Was it before or after my little speech about me being a tiny grenade?"
"Ugh!" Jack sighed and sat down on a nearby bench. "Honestly Luv, you are driving me completely looney!"
"Looney as a tune!" Came another voice.
Jack looked over and saw another one of the Jack clones he saw in the locker.
"By the way, Bravo!" The second Jack said. "You have successfully arrived aboard the Flying Dutchman as per the overall scheme!"
"Oh yes!" A third Jack said "Bravo Mate! Except for this little sojourn in the brig it's utter clockwork!"
"But we've got momentum on our side!" The second Jack reminded them
The original Captain Jack looked between the two imaginary clones.
"Go away!" He told them.
"Where am I supposed to go?" Maggie asked her father, thinking he was talking to her.
"Who does he think he is?" A second Maggie huffed "Telling us to go away."
Maggie gasped as she saw a clone of herself sitting on her left in the brig.
"Oh my Gosh!" Maggie panicked "I'm losing my mind! I'm just as bad as him!"
"Yes, you are!" A third Maggie appeared on her right. "But sadly you can't help it! It's the cruel reality of genetics!"
"Let's just hope we don't end up as old-looking as him" The second Maggie whispered "Forget Captain Jack! Let's call him Captain Cataract!"
Maggie giggled "Captain Cataract..."
"What did you just call me?" Jack turned around to face her.
"Nothing, Grampy!" Maggie said.
"What was that?" Jack snapped.
"I said 'Nothing, Daddy' Maggie lied as Maggie #2 and #3 giggled.
"Stab the heart!" Jack suddenly heard.
"Gotta help Daddy!" Maggie heard immediately after.
Both Captain Jack and Maggie and their clones turned and saw another clone of Jack and another clone of Maggie. But these clones were growing into the haul of the Dutchman and were well on the their way to becoming part of the ship, as if they were a part of the moldy, barnacle infested and coral-infused woodwork.
Maggie saw her coral clone lean forward from the wall and pulled out her brain right out of her hollowed skull.
"Gotta help Daddy..." she said "Gotta help him stab the heart and get rid of Davy Jones and that hateful David Jones! But how can we help Daddy if we're stuck in the brig?"
"She has point!" The first Maggie's clone said.
"Fiddle-dee-dee!" Maggie's second clone exclaimed.
"Fiddle-dee-dee?" Clone #1 asked "I don't think you've ever said Fiddle-dee-dee before?"
"I never even thought to say Fiddle-dee-dee before!" Maggie told her clones.
"But you're gonna start saying it!" Clone #1 stated.
"Am not!" Maggie said.
"Well, you should!" Clone #2 told her "It's fun to say!"
"Is not!" Maggie told them.
Suddenly Maggie and both of her clones grasped their heads and hissed in pain. Maggie glanced over at the coral clone Maggie in the wall and saw she had started to chew on her brain.
"Gross!" Maggie said, holding her head in pain. "Ow!"
"Make her stop!" Clone #1 complained.
"This can't be good for us!" Clone #2 moaned.
"All of you! Cut it out! You're giving me a headache!" Maggie told them.
"A headache... That's it!" Captain Jack exclaimed getting up from his seat.
"What's it?" Maggie asked him.
"Maggie, you just gave me an idea on how to get out of here!" Jack said.
"By saying I was getting a headache?" Maggie asked skeptically "What are we going to do? Hit our heads against the bars of the cell until one of them breaks?"
"No, Luv!" Jack told her "Think about it! What usually gives Daddy a headache?"
"A hangover!" Maggie smiled.
"Besides that!" Jack said.
"Me making too much noise when you have a hangover and then you come into my room and say 'Stop making so much noise, Daddy had a late night!' Maggie said, doing an impression of her father. "And then at breakfast you tell yourself you're never drinking whiskey again! And then you ask me if we have any rum!"
Captain Jack rolled his eyes. "The answer was the welp" he told her.
"Oh!" Maggie nodded "What about Welpy Will?"
"We need to think like Will!" Jack said "In other words, we need to use..."
"Leverage!" Maggie grinned, remembering their first adventure together.
"Exactly" Jack cheered.
Maggie and Jack lifted the bench in their cell and stuck it between the bars of their cell door. They pushed on the other end and the door lifted off it's hinges and clattered to the floor.
"Wish us luck, boys!" Jack called to his clones "We'll need it!"
"Bye other Me's!" Maggie said to her clones "See you in therapy!"
The clones watched them leave and looked at one another.
"I miss him already!" Jack #1 said.
"He is quite charming, isn't he?" Jack #2 asked.
"Think she'll get far?" Maggie #1 asked.
"Nah, she'll be back!" Maggie #2 shook her head.
"Nobody move!" Jack's coral clone shouted. "I dropped me brain... Oh! Here it is!" He picked up a brain for the floor.
"Dad!" Maggie's coral clone complained "That's my brain!"
☠💀☠
The battle was already underway as Captain Jack and Maggie tiptoed around the Flying Dutchman. They were to trying to get to the chest while trying to avoid Jones and his fishy and fugly-looking crew. They rushed into Jones's cabin where Murtogg and Mullroy were guarding the Dead man's chest with two small cannons.
"Halt there!" Mullroy shouted "Or we'll shoot!"
Jack and Maggie froze, just before a cannon ball burst through the room.
"Good one!" Maggie giggled.
"We just came to get our effects!" Jack told them as he strapped on his belt and sword. "Admiral though it is, why are you here when you could be else where?" He asked them.
"Someone has to stay and gaurd the chest!" Murtogg explained.
Murtogg and Mullroy both turned to each other.
"No question" Mullroy said "there has been a breakdown in military discipline aboard this vessel."
"I blame the fish people" Murtogg stated.
"Oh! So fish people, by dint of being fish people, automatically aren't as disciplined as non-fish people?" Mullroy asked.
"Seems contributory, is all I'm suggesting" Murtogg said.
As the boys were having their little back and forth arguement, Captain Jack picked up the chest and strolled away with Maggie.
"It is true that if there were no fish people there would be no need to steal the chest" Mullroy said.
"If there were no chest there would be nothing to guard" Murtogg agreed.
They both look down to see the chest is gone. The two look at each other and shrug. Out of sight, out of mind!
☠💀☠
Maggie and Captain Jack came waltzing out onto the main deck of the Flying Dutchman with the chest in hand. They froze when they came face to face with their enemies, Davy and David Jones. Davy Jones noticed Jack had the chest and Maggie noticed David had the key.
"Ha! Lookie here, Boys!" Jones told his crew. "Two lost birds!"
"Two lost birds that never learned to fly!" David shot Maggie a smirk.
Captain Jack gave at his daughter a sideways glance and Maggie gave him a confident nod.
"To our great regret!" Jack grinned "But..."
"...You can't kill two birds with one stone if they separate!" Maggie told them, before making a mad dash up to the helm. Meanwhile Captain Jack grabbed the line of a sail and swung up to the yard arm.
Jones turned to David. "Well don't just stand there gawking!" He barked at his nephew. "GET HER!"
David unsheathed his sword and ran to the helm after Maggie. Maggie stood there waiting for him, sword in hand.
"Good luck getting this key!" David told her, holding the key which hung around his neck.
"Well, if you're fighting is as bad as your honesty, this should be easy as pie!" Maggie told him, remembering how David lied and betrayed her.
David lunged for Maggie, swinging his blade in attack. Maggie ducked and blocked his every moves. She parried and attacked David at the same time. David blocked her attack, mid-air above his head and the two faced each other.
"What'd you care so much for your father?" David asked her. "He's just dragging you along, Maggie! You're nothing more than a burden on him!"
David's words echoed in Maggie's head. She tried to shake it off, but just then the top mast's of the Black Pearl and the Flying Dutchman collided shaking both ships. Maggie stumbled and slid, falling onto the deck. David stood over her, his sword pointed at her throat.
"Admit it, Maggie" David sneered "You don't belong in this world. If you're own father doesn't care about you, then who does?"
Maggie rolled away to dodge his blade hitting her. She slid across the rain soaked deck to the other end of the helm and hit her head on one of the masts.
As Maggie layed there her vision blurring slightly, memories of her father's love came flashing before her eyes:
She remembered the conversation she had with her Grandad the night before:
"Out of all the things I've seen that boy give up on in life you were never one of them!" Captain Teague told her.
Then she recalled how her father's looked at her when the were finally reunited on the Black Pearl, two years prior:
"I'm not missing anything else in your life from now on!" He told her, holding her close.
Then she remembered when her father gave her the Black Pearl promise ring for her birthday two months ago. How he hugged her so tightly:
"Daddy, let go" she gasped from lack of oxygen.
"Never" He promised her "I'm never letting you go!"
Soon David's harsh lies were replaced with her father's loving promise:
I'm never letting you go... I'm never letting you go...
Maggie snapped back into reality, she grabbed a dagger off her belt and threw it. The blade buried itself into the ship's rail beside David's head.
David turned around and faced the young girl, thinking he had defeated her.
"You're wrong, David" Maggie swung her sword at him. He stumbled, ducking out of the way of the blade.
"My father does care about me, just as much as I do for him!" she told him, blocking one of his attacks. "My Dad and I have a bond that can't and won't be broken. Not by you, your Uncle or any other supernatural force there is!" She stomped on his foot.
David howled in pain and fell down the helm's stairs onto the main deck. His sword flew across the deck from him, he scrambled to get to it.
Maggie grabbed ahold of a loose peice of rigging and swung down onto the main deck of the Dutchman. She stepped on the sword's blade before David had a chance to grab it.
Maggie grinned down at him as she pointed her sword blade at his throat.
David glared up at her in disgust. "You think you can take me down?" He asked her "I'm the nephew of the dreaded Davy Jones!"
"And I'm the daughter of unbeatable Captain Jack Sparrow!" Maggie smirked, reaching down and yanking the key from his neck.
Maggie took off with the key to find her Dad.
We might just pull this off! She thought to herself.
