"When I was younger, before I ran away I lived with my mother and father. Something happened... something that changed my life forever... I was 9 at the time when I woke up in the middle of the night.

<FLASHBACK>

"AHHH! *BANG!*" I open my eyes after hearing a scream, my mothers scream to be exact. I hope nothing's happened... As I step out of bed I hear an extremely loud bang, like a gunshot.

I slowly open my room door and walk out, the halls empty, I keep walking slowly. Looking around I see my parents bedroom door is open but the bed is empty. I look down the hallway and see the kitchen light on. I start running, not caring how much noise I made, I just hope the worst hasn't become reality.

I run into the kitchen and see mother, laying on the floor face down, a pool of blood surrounding her. There is a dagger in her back and I see my father looming over her, a gun in his hand. I knew I had to be quiet but i couldnt help but whine the words,

"Father...what happened to mother...?" He turns around at me and smiles a soft smile at me.

"Im deeply sorry Mei... I love you..." He says pointing the gun to his head,

"NO!"

*BANG!* Father falls to the floor, blood pouring out of his temple. I cover my mouth not able to comprehend whats just happened.

Mother and father are...gone...

I turn around quickly and run out of the house as fast as I can, screaming and crying my heart out as I run through the streets. Suddenly as Im running someone grabs my arm.

"What are you doing let me go! let me go!" I yell, I cant see who it is through the tears but I notice that its a man in a navy uniform. I can barely speak but im able to get some words out.

"My parents...in the kitchen... dead." I get those words out and the man lets go of my arm. I fall to my knees thinking about everythig that has happened and cant help but start to cry again. He pickes me up and carries me bridal style, I calm down a little but I bury my head into his chest.

I wipe away the tears that were spilling out of my eyes, by this time Nathan had sat me on his lap and was hugging me.

"Wait ya said that yer father called ya Mei?" Says Russell confused. I flinch as he says the name 'Mei'

"Mei is my real name, after seeing that happen I asked every person I knew to never call me Mei again...It just brings back bad memories." I say, wiping my face with my palms.

"Oh sorry." Russell says, looking down.

"No its okay, you didnt know." I say but Eduardo stills looks at me puzzeled.

"Sorry but how does this make ya have stage fright?" he asks me and I sigh.

"Theres more, it was at my parents funeral and I had to give a speech, yunno being the only child and all..."

<FLASHBACK>

"Hello there, my name is Mei and today Im up here to talk about my mother and father." I say and take a deep breath, this is your first time saying a speech... just say whats on your mind!

"Um my parents were..." oh everyone is staring at me...

"Ah t-they were very... differet from other parents." there you said it! I take a deep breah after saying what I wanted to say and look at the crowd, but the look I got were not happy faces.

"Are you saying that they were horrible parents!?" Someone in the crowd yelled, everyone else seemed to agree.

"N-no my parents were-"

"Were they different because they killed themselves!?"

"I think you were the reason they killed themselves!"

"Mabye you should kill yourself!" What...?

"Yeah then no one else will have to die because of you!" I try to get in the way of their rage.

"N-no I didnt kill my parents, I loved the-"

"Only because they gave ya a place to live and food to eat!" They dont let me speak. Some of them climb onto the stage and yell right at me. Wait Mei, if you dont listen you dont have to hear...

I sit down on the stool behind me and take in everything that they say to me. A single tear rolls down my face... Yet nobody cares enough to wipe it away.

<END OF FLASHBACK>

By this time I'm clutching onto Nathan's shirt, balling my eyes out. He holds me in his arms saying 'it's okay, it's over' while wiping away the tears. the whole room is silent as I sit there crying.

After I'm finished and I look up at all the guys who softly smile at me.

"Here Miss Kimura." I turn my head to look over Nathan's shoulder, I see Thomas hold out a box of tissues. Nathan takes one and gives it to me. I blow my nose and thank Thomas.

"After all that happened I joined the bandits, that's when I turned 10. I couldn't forget that my parents were gone, especially my father... so I went for other men and eventually let a boy take me when I was 14." I say looking down.

"Yeah I remember, ya tried to seduce me once." Nathan says smirking.

"Shut up that was years ago." I say and all the guys look at me sitting on Nathan's lap.

"Is that true!?" Russell says and me and Nathan smirk at eachother.

"Ya don't need to know that." Nathan says and I kiss him on the cheek. Everyone seems to go crazy but I think I saw a hint of jealously in Eduardo's eye. After everyone quieted down captain spoke up.

"Yer pretty strong." He says. I get off Nathan's lap, sit on my chair and give Captain a confused look.

"What?"

"Look at ya! Ya parents died and people talk shit about ya! Yet yer still here, alive when they all told ya to kill ya self." he says and everyone nods their head in agreement.

"Yeah Kim! Think about it, even though all that happened ya don't distance ya self from others, ya still smile and laugh and joke around. Ya even were willing to replay the pain again just to tell us the story." Says Russell smiling at me.

"Thanks guys." I say smiling, these people really are amazing.

"Now just one problem. The talent competition." Christopher says rubbing the back of his neck.

"Well we could try saying one of us is Kimura, some boys have that name." Nathan says and everyone looks at Thomas.

"What no! I can't sing or anything!" He says putting his hands up in defence.

"Guys it's alright, I'll do the talent show."

"Really?" Everyone says at the same time.

"Yeah I'll do it, that was what? 11 years ago. It's time I put myself back out there." I say and smile, they all smile back.
