The Athena's Revenge is making good time in our progress towards catching one Victor Devonport. We traveled through Siren's Bay which shaved days off the journey. Other ships choose to go around the treacherous waters despite doing so adds at least two days to travel time. At this rate, the Athena's revenge should be in the Obsidian Isle, only a few hours after our prey.
Victor Devonport is a sleaze who backed out of a marriage at the last minute but still helped himself to his fiancé's booty. Countess Dobrev commissioned the Athena's revenge to track down Davenport and return her dowry to her. Some members of my crew have pointed out that the risk is too high and the reward too low. I'm aware of the risks but I have my own motivation for agreeing to the job: revenge on a girl who broke my heart and used me. Despite a few misgivings, most of my crew sees the righteousness of this mission. The one thing that every single woman on my ship has in common is that we are all survivors. Many of the crew have been where Countess Dobrev finds herself, jilted on the wedding day. Most of my crew wants to see Devonport suffer. But should he suffer with his life?
A new member has joined our crew bringing the number of souls that I am responsible for to Forty-one.
Her name is Arista.
It is the most beautiful but painful name I have ever uttered...Arista!
I've never seen a creature as beautiful as the Siren, Arista. It is hard for me to be in her presence, since I feel such attraction to the Siren. I also feel shame. I shouldn't want to kiss her. She is a demon and her kind is responsible for the death of my father. I must keep my heart hardened towards the beast, lest I lose it to her.
Arista boarded the Athena's revenge to deliver a message from the Sirens. They are unpleased that the tiny sloop has made it past them on four separate occasions without offering a meal. Arista was determined to take four of the ship's best men to make up for the slight. However, when she learned that the crew was made up entirely of women she changed her mind. I agreed to sacrifice four men to the sirens. I feel that the deal is rather unfair since I was under the Siren's spell when I made it. However, Quinn, who I made Co-captain, for as long as Arista remains on my ship, agrees that it is a good plan. We can go through Siren's bay without fear of consequences. We just need to bring the Sirens a treacherous snack.
Victor Devonport may be a complete slime-ball, but does that give me the right to lure him to his death?

The Athena's Revenge crept into the Obsidian Isle under the cover of darkness. Captain Jackeline took a long deep breath at the first sight of land. The mission was almost over. Soon she would recover Ms. Dobrev's dowry which she would return to the countess and the book of Truth which she wouldn't.
The crew began docking the small sloop. The skilled women knew exactly what to do without being told. Jack often joked that the ship didn't need a captain for it ran itself. Jack nodded at Quinn and Jo and watched as the two women disappeared into the underbelly of the ship. Jack gave one last glance at the women before going below deck herself. She headed towards her rooms. Jack loved wearing soft, feminine gowns but she found that it was better to do recognizance as a man. Many pirates confused her for a young weak lad and lowered their defenses. That was when the tongues started wagging.
With any luck somebody would blab about Victor's location. Perhaps Jack would be able to find the dowry straight away. The sooner she completed the mission the sooner the Siren would leave her ship. It couldn't happen fast enough for Jack.
As if the mere thought of the siren brought her into existence, Jack stopped short before she reached her room for the Siren was leaning on her door.
"Arista what are you doing by my cabin?" Jack asked.
"I want to know what's going on." The siren huffed putting her hand on her hip. Jack sighed. The siren was just too cute when she was frustrated. "Why are we stopping on this land?"
"The man we're after is here." Jack answered.
"I thought he was on a ship." Arista snapped.
"We believe he's somewhere on the island now, so we are about to search for him."
"Who is this we?" Arista asked.
"Quinn, Jo and me." Jack said.
"Well I'm going too." Arista said.
Jack shook her head. That was the last thing she needed. She tried to voice her concern but found herself under the Siren's spell once more and knew that fighting her was futile.
