Do you really hate me?
"Let's go." Jack whispered into the Siren's ear.
"What about Quinn." Arista asked.
"Quinn will follow soon." Jack said striding out of the tavern. She leaned against the building waiting for Quinn to finish the game.
"I thought we were supposed to do recognizance." Arista asked.
"It's done."
Arista huffed. "All we did was watch Quinn play that stupid game."
"Well maybe that is all you did."
Arista huffed and walked to the side of the building and leaned against the post used for tying horses. The water in the horse's trough looked cleaner than the water in the tavern. Though to be fair it was the glasses that were dirty not the water or the wine.
"You made me drink that whisky from that filthy cup and you won't tell me anything."
"Ewww, you drank that whiskey?" Jack laughed inching closer to where the Siren stood.
"You gave me the stink eye when you handed it over." Arista said.
"Ye got ta look like you're havin' a good time." Jack said. "You hold the whiskey, and pour it out when nobody's lookin', just a little at a time."
"Why?"
"You gotta drink when you're at a bar. Otherwise, the pirates would figure out that we was there under pretenses."
"Why do you pour it." The siren asked.
"Cuz, we need to keep our wits about us."
"You always talking about keeping your wits." Arista complained. "Do you ever just go with the flow and let emotion take over." She said bending over and splashing her hand in the trough.
"What are you doing?"
"My skin is dry." The siren answered.
"Horses drink out of that."
The siren shrugged straightening herself. "You are avoiding my question. Why do you always insist on being in control?"
Jack parted her lips wanting to kiss the siren.
"You want me, but you won't let yourself have me, why?" Arista's pink lips glistened in the moonlight.
"Because, I hate sirens."
"Do you really hate me Jack?" Arista came closer, she smelled like the sea and Jack wondered if she would taste sea salt if they kissed.
"What's going on?" Quinn said catching the two women before they had a chance to kiss. She pulled Jack away from the sea monster. "I've been looking for you two."
Jack breathed deeply coming back to her senses now that she took a few steps away from the monster.
"I thought that your powers didn't work on land?" Quinn said turning to the siren.
"They don't." Arista shrugged.
"Then how come it looked like the two of you were about to kiss?"
"Because we were about to before you rudely interrupted." Arista put a small hand on her hip as Jack tried to catch her breath. "Ever think that maybe Jack just wants to be with me?"
"No." Quinn said shaking her head. "I don't think that at all."
"I think she has her powers as long as she is near water." Jack said shaking her head. "And I think she knew that which is why she tricked me into taking her to a water source."
"The horses' trough?" Quinn asked.
"That would be it and I didn't appreciate the trick" Jack said through gritted teeth.
"Oh don't be a spoil sport. If you didn't like me you wouldn't want to kiss me." Arista said.
Jack turned on her heel and walked back to the ship not wanting to face the siren anymore. "And for the record, I really do hate you."
"I don't understand you Jackeline!" The siren breathed in a shocked breath. "We have been nothing but kind, allowing your boat passage four times unscathed.
"You also killed my father." Jack said.
