The sky turned to dawn and the captain was still asleep and so was his mermaid. She was feeling comfortable in the tub. It was until a splash of water woke her in fright that she cursed out in anger.
"Wake wakey Princess" Captain Noir chuckled.
"What the hell, man?!" Marinette glared.
"Sorry about that but you were a heavy sleeper," Captain Noir said.
"Was that really necessary?" Marinette groaned.
"For a fish that enjoys water, absolutely" Captain Noir laughed.
"Not funny," Marinette said.
"Well, time for some breakfast" Captain Noir carried her.
"Since when did you enjoy babysitting me?" Marinette asked.
"Not babysitting, just helping since you have no legs," Captain Noir said.
"That's still the same as babysitting me," Marinette said before being placed on a dining chair.
"Yeah yeah," Captain Noir rolls his eyes.
"For a cat that eats fish, you seem to have your own favorite fish" Marinette chuckled.
"Yes, Seabass being the best," Captain Noir said.
"Really Kitty?" Marinette asked while applying butter to a bread slice.
"A kitty has to have a favorite," Captain Noir said.
"Mmhmm" Marinette then ate her breakfast.
Later on, the crew stopped near an island to let Marinette swim around at sea.
"Finally, being able to stretch my fins," Marinette said.
"Meow, perhaps finds me a delicious fish for me to eat, milady fish" Captain Noir teased her.
"Or octopus perhaps?" Marinette smirked.
"Too slimy and boneless. Just be on the lookout if you see spooky pirate ghosts" Captain Noir said.
"We'll see, Kitty" Marinette said.
"I hope the dead don't get angry, especially that graveyard sword you found." Captain Noir glanced at her sword.
"Ghosts don't scare me, pussycat. Just don't disturb their resting places" Marinette said before diving into the water.
"She's really something," Captain Noir said.
"Ah, you seem to take an interest in this creature, captain," Nino said.
"It's just new to me. She's not deadly or monstrous at all" Captain Noir said.
"And she's not hungry for humans," Nino said.
"So tell us again why we are here?" Alya asked.
"This is the same island my father was searching for until his ship was sunk by the sea monster. Call this his grave" Captain Noir said.
"Should we not disturb his grave?" Nino looks nervous.
"We'll be careful," Captain Noir said.
Marinette was swimming through the reef near the island. All the debris of the ship destroyed by the sea monster was enough to show there were no survivors. Because the lifeboats were destroyed as well. She bet the sea monster was hungry for sailors to devour, one by one. Then she swam inside the wreck. Inside were many bones from the pirates, rusted guns, and other weapons.
"Gross, that beast digested them and pooped out bones" Marinette shuddered, "Or better yet vomited them out," She said and spots an ancient old Chinese map of the Yin and Yang symbol, "What's this?" She was surprised it hadn't dissolved by the water yet.
Captain Noir knew how well his father was desperate to find what he was searching for but he never told Adrien what it was before abandoning him and never returned.
"I hope she finds something important," He said.
Lots of debris from his father's ship really did anger the sea monster to destroy it along with devouring the pirates.
Then he saw Marinette jump out of the water, "I got something, Kitty" She showed him the map.
"What did you find?" Captain Noir asked.
"It's some sort of map but made of wood," Marinette said.
"Chinese style. I've seen this before. The day my father was so obsessed with it" Captain Noir remembered the familiar Chinese writings.
"What is it?" Marinette asked.
"The stones of the Yin and Yang. Legends say it's a balance between creation and destruction. When combined, it grants you one wish but, in exchange, to take away like a sacrifice" Captain Noir said.
"Aye, yet no one's ever seen it for centuries, captain. Your father truly was obsessed about it until his madness took his life away" Alya said.
"I have a feeling he tried to find a way to bring my mother back from the dead" Captain Noir guessed.
"What makes you say that?" Marinette asked.
"He refused to accept her death too soon," Captain Noir said.
"Until his death probably took him with her to the afterlife, captain. Davy Jones locker, technically speaking" Nino said.
"Yes, it did," Captain Noir said.
"And that life is over for him, captain," Alya said.
"Aye, Alya" Captain Noir nodded, looking at the map, "If this is what my father was after, then it's my quest to know and why. I can't let my father's old mates go after this for him" Captain Noir said.
"He still got some he knows?" Marinette asked.
"One did 3 years ago and she is the ruthless one I know," Captain Noir said.
"Cerise" Alya guessed.
"Aye, that manipulative liar like a devil witch cursing the seas" Captain Noir growled.
"We shouldn't have trusted her," Nino said.
"I'm afraid to say this but she escaped the island I left her to be punished. Now she's out for revenge" Captain Noir said.
"Why didn't ye tell us, Captain?" Nino asked in shock.
"You wouldn't believe me again. You all thought she was dead on the island" Captain Noir said.
"She really can cheat death," Luka said.
"Cheating death or not, she's still into deep shit," Captain Noir said.
"What did she look like?" Marinette asked.
"She had brown hair, brown eyes, and dressed in red" Captain Noir said.
"Yup, I recognize her. She escaped by sea turtles" Marinette said.
"She escaped by sea turtles?!" Captain Noir exclaimed.
"Yes, big ones," Marinette said.
"Leatherback turtles" Captain Noir guessed.
"Yep," Marinette nodded.
"We better be on the lookout before she reappears," Alya said.
"Uh, I think she's found us" Nino can see a purple ship with butterfly wings sails from the distance.
"Get back on the ship!" Captain Noir commanded.
"Lift anchor! Set the sails!" Nino shouted.
Captain Noir carries Marinette back into his cabin to hide her, "Stay quiet, milady"
"Okay," Marinette nodded.
"She's a lot more evil than you've seen. Stay hidden and don't let her see you" Captain Noir said before leaving his cabin. Once he was out, he saw the other ship approach.
"She's catching up to us fast!" Nino saw through the spyglass and then saw the flag being hoisted up.
"She wants me, Nino. Ready the cannons, you lads! Show Miraculous that she won't go down like my father!" Captain Noir ordered.
"You heard the captain! Load the cannons!" Nino shouted to the crew.
The feline climbs up on the mast like a cat and gets on the crow's nest, "On my command fire" He tells the crew and they all brought the cannons out of their ports.
"Hahahaha! How rude to not welcome a lady, Captain Whiskers!" Cerise cackled.
"Lila! Or should I say, Cerise?" Captain Noir glared.
"Is the kitten angry that I became the biggest predator of the seas?" Cerise taunted.
"Why are you here?!" Captain Noir demanded an answer.
"I've heard about those mermaid rumors. That you've seen a living one" Cerise said.
"I don't believe in bedtime stories anymore, Cerise. And those are rumors, not real stories!" Captain Noir said.
"Always the same stubborn cat afraid of scary ghost stories" Cerise laughed.
"So ye say ye big liar!" Captain Noir retorted.
"Let's not be hasty," Cerise said.
"Too late for that. It doesn't change a thing!" Captain Noir said, remembering the betrayal she gave him and the way he foolishly thought she would change for the better but he was wrong.
"The hard way it is!" Cerise drew her sword.
"Fear me! If you dare!" Captain Noir drew his sword, "Fire!" he ordered his crew to fire the cannons.
"Light them up!" Nino ignites one cannon.
"FIRE!" Cerise orders her crew.
The thunder of the cannons fired at each other, breaking the sides of each ship. Some shots tore holes in the sails.
The feline jumped to the other ship to fight Cerise. He pushed her back before she shoved him back and clashed again. Their swords clashed repeatedly before Captain Noir scratched her with his claw rings.
"Give up, Cerise! Your luck is running out!" He said.
"You're the one with bad luck on your side, kitten!" Cerise pushed him off.
"I still have nine lives!" Captain Noir said.
"And let's hope you don't land on your feet this time!" Cerise engages in sword fighting.
"Cats always do!" Captain Noir countered.
Cerise tries to strike him but accidentally cuts a rope. This cuts down the flag that was waving at the top of the main mast.
"No hoisting this time! Hahahaha!" Captain Noir cackled before kicking Cerise at the edge.
"You damn cat!" Cerise straightens her hat and resumes fighting.
"Let the ocean's rage drown you to the pits of hell!" Captain Noir clashed his sword.
Marinette saw through the cabin's window that the two were fighting. She's never seen her captain feline fight a female pirate like that but it sure was something for him to not hesitate or show weakness against the opposite sex.
"Incredible" She uttered.
Unfortunately, he looks troubled and the fight won't stop. She's gonna have to help him eventually before the cannons sink the ships. So Marinette jumps through the window.
"Tired kitty cat? That's a darn shame!" Cerise sneered.
"Are you kitten me? I never felt more awake!" Captain Noir kips back up.
"Time to skin the cat!" Cerise shouted.
