BREAK THE MOLD DOWN!

...

No?
No?
Ok ...

Hey Peeps! Violet here, over caffeinated and for once done with her college essays for the early night here in beautiful San Diego.

As of recently I've embarked on a new project which required me to hit up -MammaMia- 's amazing tips book. In particular, I brushed through the #BreaktheMold chapter she wrote because it's honestly life changing.

If you haven't read it, please do yourself a favor and read it. I'm not pushing you to go read it because Mia is a dear friend of mine, I'm suggesting you read it because it's a thoughtful piece to consider when writing.

Even if you don't plan on writing, the chapter is something I feel everyone should read because often times, literature can make you feel out of place with it's characters always being and looking a certain way.

First and foremost, I'd like to disclaim that you are ENTITLED,
YOU ARE WITHIN EVERY RIGHT to WRITE about whatever the hell you so wish to do so about as long as it's not HARMFUL / HARASSING MATERIAL.

You guys know I fucking hate Eva Marie the wrestler, but if you want to write a book about her,
GO FORTH AND PROSPER!

If you're into smut,
DO IT!

If you love Ambraige,
fucking do that too!

If you love the idea of Shane McMahon and Becky Lynch,
DO IT!

Hell, if your fetishes include Hornswoggle and Mark Henry,
I don't care,
just do whatever the fuck you want to write about as long as you love it.

Fuck whatever I have to say about whatever you want to write about. So what if it's not my cup of tea / other's cup of tea.

IF YOU LIKE IT,
BABY THAT IS ALL THAT MATTERS!

Honestly, nothing irks me more than expressing my opinion about a certain wrestler and having some dim twat get her knickers in a twist because they disagree.

A) Unless someone is casting DEATH upon another individual,
you shouldn't get all butt hurt.

Despite Paige being a train wreck at the moment, she's my problematic fav. I know some people DESPITE the goth gal, but I honestly couldn't care less.

I also won't hold it against the person BECAUSE EVERYONE HAS THE RIGHT TO LIKE AND DISLIKE WHATEVER THEY PLEASE.
(unless you're disliking for racist bs, gtfo).

With all of that said, I do frequently reference that #BreaktheMold chapter because here's what that "movement" means to me:

To me #BreaktheMold does not mean making Ambrose a mushy loving teddy beat with golden hair and blue eyes because bad boys can have a soft side too, aye?

#BreaktheMold does not mean that Seth Rollins can get his shit together because even people who are notoriously messy as fuck with their relationships can suddenly realize that being a cheating sleezeball isn't okay and then end up with the perfect girl in a great relationship.

#BreaktheMold is SO much more than just giving someone polar opposite emotions of how they truly are to make a character more, "complex."

#BreaktheMold isn't about Vince McMahon being cuddly as fuck because we all know that he's the fucking anti-christ.

(not really, but yeah // i have a severe love- hate thing for that old prune).

TO ME,
#BreaktheMold

is about diversity,
DIVERSITY,
DIVERSITY,
DIVERSITY!

I'm not just talking race, ethnicities, and skin tone's here, I'm talking about body shapes, under-used characters, creativity, challenges, etc etc.

All of that nitty gritty stuff.

1) BODY IMAGE

Part of #BreaktheMold is to include more than just skinny women. THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH BEING THIN ( I AM MYSELF ) BUT IS THAT REALLY ALL THERE IS?

What about my shirt curvy girls?
My tall curvy girls?

WHERE ARE MY GIRLS WITH BODY ISSUES?

Nearly every book I've written casts an OC with a perfect body where the girl feels banging and don't get me wrong, that's break that a person feels AMAZING about their body (as we all should) but there's also women who struggle with their bodies.

#BreaktheMold is about having proper representation about ALL SHAPES AND SIZES.

NO, it's not about shaming or dissing skinny women, it's about having all body types come together to be celebrated.

For anyone interested in more body image diversity, please check out AllSizesAreBeautiful .
Taryn (IceCream_Hugs ) has created a beautiful movement where books highlighting positive body image are recommended (above other amazing things).

2) DIVERSITY.

Nearly every OC here is white and blue eyed. Now, there's nothing wrong with that, and I'm sure Hitler would be all up on that, BUT OH MY GOD I SHIT YOU NOT GUYS, I'VE SEEN THE SAME IMAGE OF SOME TUMBLR GIRL BE TOSSED AROUND HERE FOR AT LEAST 50 OC's.

Someone here needs to do a Wattpad census because Violet here can guarantee you that 95% of OC's are white and blue eyed.

AGAIN, this isn't BAD and it's not to put any SHAME

as I here have done that, (although I prefer giving my brown eyed girls love).

BUT,

WHERE ARE MY BLACK GIRLS?
MY ASIAN GIRLS?
MY MEXICAN GIRLS?
MY EURO CHICKS?

THERE IS MORE THAN AMERICAN WOMEN!!

Listen, a part of me does not understand the hysteria in holly wood for more diverse actors not being casted because I rarely look at a movie and go, "Why isn't she black or why are they all white?"

BUT, diversity is important.

I am not FORCING ANYONE to feel bad for only using a specific ethnicity (mainly white), I am simply suggesting that it be nice to represent more than one race. I'm currently embarking on a project to join in that movement, and let me just give you a small hint: THE NEW DAY.

( I love knowing that despite black men barely being given chances in the WWE, those three beautiful black men are fucking selling better than anyone).

3) WWE SUPERSTARS

There is more Superstars to write about than the Shield boys, Paige, Sasha, etc.

Lord knows I started out with Ambraige and all shield boy books that have surely but slowly been unpublished, so I am not here to criticize anyone.

Because I know there are people out there that will mock / misinterpret my words, I will once again repeat this like an annoying substitute teacher:

I AM ONLY SUGGESTING AND LETTING YOU KNOW,
that there is A WHOLE SEA OF SUPERSTARS TO CHOOSE FROM.

Now, if you choose to STILL write about Roman, Dean, Seth, Paige, Sasha,

GOOD ON YA!
FUCKING GOOD JOB MATE,
I'M PROUD OF YOU!

No, I'm not being sarcastic. I mean it, write whatever the fuck you want to write about as you CAN.

My only advice is that I know it's sometimes easy to get sucked into a hole where you feel pressured to write about more "popular" superstars because everyone keeps telling you to do so.

While I appreciate the love and comments requesting I write another "ambraige" trilogy / bring back that Roman book, I'll tell you what,
the second I started doing what I wanted,
I stopped being so miserable.

It's no earth-shattering advice, it's just a friendly reminder.

4) PERSONALITIES

About 90% of the fanfics I've written with OC's always have the girl be the hottest thing on earth and best wrestler to walk in the ring since Shawn Michaels. Her shit doesn't stink and she's basically flawless.

Listen, there's nothing wrong with essentially being perfect except a) I low key despise anyone that way and b) ONLY .04% CAN RELATE YO!

- WRITE ABOUT INTROVERTS
(although keep in mind that introverts aren't always shy).

- WRITE ABOUT INSECURE OC'S,

- REBELS WITH A CAUSE / WITHOUT A CAUSE

- THE QUIET ONE THAT IS REALLY A SLYTHERIN

- THE NERDY OC

- THE PASSIONATE WRESTLER WHO OVERCAME OBSTACLES, ETC. ETC ETC.

AGAIN, you can write about the cliche OC and if you're happy with that,
THEN SO BE IT.

5) STORY DEVELOPMENT

In my opinion, one of the most important aspects about what #BreaktheMold means to me, is story development. #BreaktheMold means, straying away from conventional endings and giving characters a life of their own through your understanding of who they are. Don't just pair up because they're similar, don't just give them a vanilla relationship.

Add drama,
add suspense.

Build sharp turns and twists,
make things unpredictable.

"Paige and Dean hated each other,
had a one night stand,
and fell in love.
The end."

I AM NOT HATING HERE BECAUSE I HAVE DONE THIS!!

Any "error" pointed out here it not my shaming anyone or criticizing, it is me telling you that I've been there and am now trying to bring upon MORE diversity because a) it makes me damn happy and b) it's damn needed.

Regardless of how you look like,
I sincerely adore you all.

I fall in love with souls, not appearances.

If you spread hate,

I don't care if you look like Beyonce,

you're automatically ugly to me.

I have tried to bring this hash tag justice, but honestly, Mia's chapter is the ultimate justice. Please do read that well written chapter.

Drinking game: Take a shot of water every time I say, "shame."

DISCLAIMER: I AM NOT TRYING TO SPREAD SHAME TO ANYONE FOR NOT FITTING INTO THE #BREAKTHEMOLD MOVEMENT. THESE ARE ALL SUGGESTIONS AND IMPORTANT ISSUES I'D LIKE TO BRING AWARENESS TO.

My question to you now is,
what would you like to see more of?
