(A/N: Happy 4th of July aka the one year anniversary of when Ruby proposed to Shappire)

Brooke POV

  Me and the Squip squad we're packing to go to the beach to watch the fireworks for the 4th of July. We we're almost done but we we're still waiting on Chloe.

  "Yo short stuff!" Rich yelled from the house, carrying a towel and putting it in the trunk "Wheres your girlfriend?"

  "Okay first of all, you're not that much taller than me and second I don't know, I've been trying to reach her for 20 minutes but she wont pick up." I say worriedly.

"Hey Brooke," Michael says "If you're worried you should go to her house and check up on her, and then if you still want to come you can just drive there with her, there's always next year to."

I nod

"Sorry guys I gotta check up on her, I swear if we don't come we can just go buy discount fireworks tomorrow and do some then."

After a nod of approval and a bye from everyone, I get in my mom's car and start to drive to Chloes house, I hope she's okay.

~Time-skip~

  I reach Chloes house and knock on the door, no answer. I take out the extra house key she gave me in case of an emergency and opened the door.

  I walk towards her door and I put my ear up against it.

  Fireworks went off as I did and I could hear a faint sob.

  I knock on her door "Chlo may I come in?"

  "B-Brookie? Is that you?"

  "Yes baby its me may I come in?"

  "..... I don't know if you'd want to, I'm a total mess right now...."

  I open the door and stomp in.

"Chloe Valentine you are the most beautiful girl in the world and I will not stand by and have you talk like that about yours-" I get a good look at her, it looks as if she'd been crying for about an hour now.

  Chloe blushes as she looks down and I walk over to her and put a hand on her cheek to lift her face back up, wiping her tears.

  "Chloe what's wrong baby?"

  "....... you won't wanna be around me if I tell you...."

  "Chloe I love you and nothing you could say could ever change tha-"

  "IM AFRAID OF FIREWORKS!" She blurts out.

  "Y-You probably don't even want to be around someone who's afraid of fireworks, how am I supposed to protect you if I'm afraid of a little boom." She sniffs and pulls away from me and turns as she pulls her legs up and puts her head on top of them.

  "Chloe, being afraid of something won't make me love you any less. When I told you I was afraid of the dark, did you stop loving me?"

  She looks at me "Of course not."

  "See?" I go to touch her face "It's alright love."

  She sniffs "Wait, weren't you supposed to go with everyone to the beach to watch the fireworks?"

  "Yes but you're far more important~" I kiss her nose and she blushes. She's so adorable!

  "I'm sorry I kinda ruined your night Brookie." She says in a tone that breaks my heart.

  "Chloe, any night with you is the best night of my life, you never ruin anything."

  "You spoil me to much."

  "And you deserve it~"

  I sit down on the bed and kiss her on the lips, then another firework goes off. Chloe pulls away and holds her head to her knees.
 
  "Chlo, do you want me to hold you?" I ask

  She nods her head and I hug her and sit back against the headboard, and I start to play with her hair.

  "Brookie?"

  "Yes love?"

  "Would you be able to.... never mind it's stupid"

  "What is it baby?"

  "..... could you sing for me?"

  "Course love~"

  "Sorry love but could it be like an English song? I just don't understand your anime songs."

  I laugh "Of course."

  I begin to sing as she drifts off, the fireworks no longer affecting her as I hold my love close to me and kiss her head.

  "Goodnight love."
