Hey guys, 13 here with another update! Two in one day?! That's crazy for me!🔱🌊

Ruby's POV

As soon as Sapphire left I felt alone. My other half just disappeared without a trace, leaving me here. Alone. I felt Steven's hug and heard him saying stuff but I didn't care. Not really at least. I gave him a simple nod and went over to his bed and passed out. 

When I woke up it was dark outside and the others were still fast asleep. I didn't really know what I was doing until I heard Greg's voice on the phone.

"Hello?" He yawned. Clearly I'd just woken him up.

"Greg?" I whispered.

"Steven? Is that you? You voice changed." He replied, a little more awake this time.

"Actually it's me, Ruby."

"Oh hey Ruby! Whatcha need?" 

"I need someone to talk to."

"Where's Sapphire?" When he said her name I tried to hold back a sob. I clearly didn't do a good job because Greg heard it.

"Oh. I see. I'll be right over."

"Thank you." I hung up the phone and walked over to the couch. I slowly picked up Steven and tucked him into his own bed because I felt bad for taking it. I looked to Pearl and Amethyst and sighed. I picked them up and went through my room to get to their rooms. By the time I got back Greg was sitting at the island holdin a cup of what appeared to be coffee. I walked over to him and sat down in the chair next to his.

"So."

"So."

"You ok Ruby? You sounded pretty upset over the phone. What happened?"

"Sapphire got really angry and left. She actually yelled at us." I said quietly.

"Sapphire yelled?" Greg said in disbelief. "What caused her to yell?" 

"It's not my place to say. Only Pearl and Steven can tell you the truth."

Greg didn't seem happy about my answer put didn't push me. 

"So why'd you call?"

"I needed someone to talk to. Someone who would understand."

"Understand what?"

"What it feels like to feel abandoned."

"Oh."

"How do you get through this feeling every day without breaking down in tears?"

"I talk to my loved ones. They seem to understand what I'm saying most of the time."

"Am I considered a loved one?"

"Of course! You're apart of my family Ruby, don't ever question that."

I smiled slightly at Greg's kind words."

We just sat there until Greg yawned and i pointed to the couch. He stood up and walked over to the couch and laid down.

"We can talk more in the morning." And with that, Greg Universe fell asleep. I knew I wasn't going to back to sleep so I tip toed out of the house and walked down to the beach. I sat down and shifted my hands in the sand.

"Why did you leave Sapphire?" I thought to myself. "We could have delt with this together like everything else we've ever faced." I thought a little while longer until my eyelids grew heavy and I slipped off into a light sleep.
