Dear Sapphire,
You were right. We are just a relationship built on lies. If we live in lies, what's the point? That's why I'm leaving. I now see what I need to do, I need to find my own path. One that doesn't involve Rose, Pearl, Amethyst, Steven, and yes, even you. Please let me have this. I will always cherish the moments we had.

Silent tears ran from Sapphire's eye. She had lost everything. Her team was falling apart around her. The love of her life was now gone. She was truly alone.

Suddenly, the world started to grow dark around her. Pearl, Steven, Bismuth, everyone started to disappear until it was just her sitting in a black void. The words she had said to Ruby started to echo around her.

"She lied to us!"

"I should have seen this!"

"Don't you get it?! Our relationship is built on lies!" 
(I know that one wasn't in there but I meant to put it in earlier. Sorry)

"No." Sapphire's voice was barely a whisper. "I didn't mean it. Ruby, I'm sorry. I'm sorry."

I'm sorry. Those were the only words that the blue gem could manage to say. She just sat there crying. Her future vision had gone dark. For once, she couldn't see what was going to happen next.

Warmth.

That's what she felt on her shoulder after a few minutes. I harm hand wrapping around her.

"R-Ruby? I-is t-that y-y-you?" She was stuttering so bad she barely made out her words.

"No Sapphire, it's me. Steven."

With his soft words. The world around her started to reappear. She suddenly found herself on Steven's bed, with the owner of said bed wrapping his arms around her in a tight embrace. She quickly returned the hug as the two just sat there. How many hours or minutes passed, neither knew. All they knew was that they needed the other right then and there. Steven was the first to let go. When he removed his arms, he wiped away a tear that had been welling in his eye. Sapphire followed the same motion to her own eye.

"Are you... ok now?" Steven looked expectantly at the future seeing gem.

"I... yes... no..." Sapphire sighed in frustration. She had no idea how she felt. She wasn't feeling overwhelmed by sadness but at the same time, she missed Ruby.

"I miss her."

"I know. I sent Pearl and Amethyst to go looking for her." Steven stood up and helped Sapphire to her feet and they walked down the stairs.

"Steven. How am I going to apologize to her, after all the awful things I said."

"From the heart" The young boy replied as they sat down on the couch. "All good and meaningful apologies come from the heart. But an apology will only get you so far. You have to show Ruby that you mean every word you say."

Sapphire stared at the boy in fronting her. He was wise beyond his years. She had watched him grow up into the strong young man before her.

"Thank you Steven."

"No problem... actually, there's one."

"And what would that be?"

"Getting Ruby here."

"Why is that?"

"Apparently, she wants to become a cowboy."

"What?"

Steven showed her his phone. I text from Pearl was on the screen. All it said was; She's wants to become a cowboy. Meet us at brooding hill

Hey there. 13. I know it's been a really, really, really , REALLY long time since I updated. I just wanted to make it as real of a Steven Universe story a I possibly could, and what better way to do that with really long and unnecessary hiatuses! ... I know you guys aren't going to buy that.
