Pink And Beastly (Ronks)
So this is my NEW Ronks fanfic. This chapter starts just after Dumbledore has died so there are going to be bits from the books. I hope you enjoy this one better than Bubblegum Moon :P
----------------------------------------------------------
Bill lay unconscious on the bed. His face was a mangled and bloody mess, yet Fleur still loved him, nothing had changed apart from his face. Tonks watched from the side, standing silently and awkwardly next to Remus, letting the Weasley family at their members side. It was a very very grim day. Dumbledore dead, Snape betrayed them all, then Bill was attacked by Greyback.
She heard Fleur saying that she didn't care what Bill looked like. She loved him no matter what he looked like, no matter his condition. And surprisingly, Mrs Weasley started to hug and comfort Fleur, almost as if all the hatred towards her was gone.
So, if Fleur could accept it that Bill's face would be forever scarred and he'd be a little dangerous, more than usual. That she didn't care what he would be like. Then why couldn't Remus accept that Tonks didn't care either?
Fleur still held onto Bill's hand, she didn't want to let go, not even as he lay almost dead on the bed, telling him softly that she didn't care.
"You see!" Tonks said, her voice sounded strained and weak, glaring at Remus. "She still wants to marry him, even though he's been bitten! She doesn't care!"
Remus stiffened "It's different." He replied, lips hardly moving "Bill will not be a full werewolf. The cases are completely-"
"But I don't care either, I don't care!" Tonks cried, taking the front of Remus's robes and shaking them "I've told you a million times..."
Tonks heard Harry gasp a little as it clicked in his head, and she knew that he now understood her Patronus and appearance change. He realized she was in love with Remus.
Remus was staring at the floor, refusing to meet her eyes "And I've told you a million times that I'm too old for you, too poor...too dangerous..."
Mrs Weasley looked over Fleur's shoulder, patting her back "I've said all along you're taking a ridiculous line on this Remus."
"I'm not being ridiculous. Tonks deserves someone who is young and whole." Remus said steadily
"But she wants you," said Mr Weasley with a small smile. "And after all, Remus, young and whole men do not necessarily remain so.' He gestured sadly to his son, lying bandaged and bloody between them.
"This is.... this is not the moment to discuss it," Remus said, he looked around, desperately trying to avoid everyone's eyes. "Dumbledore is dead..."
"Dumedore would have been happier than anybody to think that there was a little more love in the world." Said Professor MGonagall curtly, just as Hagrid opened the Hospital doors and walked in.
Hagrid said something about him moving Dumbledores body and the distraught and petrified students where back in bed, but Tonks wasn't too sure, she'd tuned out of the conversation. She felt very embarrassed about her outburst, but tried not to show it. Hagrid soon shuffled out of the Hospital, head bowed and crying.
"I'd like a quick word with you Harry...if you could come with me..." McGonagall said quietly. Harry nodded before muttering to Ron, Hermione and Ginny then following McGonagall out of the Hospital.
Nobody spoke. Mrs Weasley and Fleur sat on the bed, each with one of Bills pale and limp hands in theirs. Mr Weasley stared at his sons face with a solemn expression. Ron and Hermione's were standing and crying softly.
"I'm going to go." Tonks said suddenly. She spoke quietly and softly, but still have everyone heard as the sad silence was broken. "I just need.....to get my head around this. I hope Bill will be ok."
"Thank you. See you soon." Mrs Weasley said. She hugged her tightly, Tonks patted her back in comfort. Hermione was next to get a hug.
"You did what you had to Hermione. Don't beat yourself up about it." Tonks whispered. Hermione sniffed softly before sitting back with Ron. Tonks nodded before turning, and walked out the room. As soon as she could, Tonks used Accio to summon her broom. She flew round the corridors because she was just so stunned and confused with what just happened, she didn't want to walk.
The cold wind whipped her hair as she left the safety of Hogwarts. Once she landed in Hogsmead, she closed her eyes, slowed her breathing, and with a POP, she was gone. She landed heavily in the street, rain instantly washing over her. As she landed, she felt as if someone had been watching her as she Disapparated. Wanting to know who it was, she hid in the shadows of the bushes, wand in her hand incase she needed it.
---Remus's POV---
I follow Tonks through the Corridors and watched as she Disapparated in Hogsmead. I knew she felt stupid and embarrassed for saying all that stuff in front of everyone. And I honestly I felt bad for her. Closing my eyes, the feeling of being sucked into a very small tube flowed through my body before I hit the ground hard and stumbled. Opening my eyes, I noticed the heavy rain surrounding me, flooding the street.
"Why are you here?" Someone called. Turning around, I saw Tonks standing there with her arms crossed over her chest, absolutely soaked with rain. She had emerged from the bushes and stood in the middle of the pavement. Her eyes piercing and truth searching.
"Wanted to tell me again that you don't love me. Cos I get it, ok. I'm sorry i bothered yo-"
"Can you please stop talking." I said, stepping closer to her, our faces almost touching.
"Wh-" Tonks was about to ask why, when she was stopped instantly. I had closed the gap by gently placing my lips against hers.
---End of POV---
---Third Person POV---
Tonks's eyes widened with surprise as he kissed her. He placed his hands gently on her slim waist, pulling her closer. Giving into the kiss, she closed her eyes slowly and laced her hands on the back of his neck. They parted slightly, looking into each others eyes.
"Bu-what j-just." Tonks stammered. "I thought you didn't feel that way." Tonks managed to say, once it was clear in her mind, what just happened.
"I never said that. I said you deserved someone younger. I never really denied the fact that I love you." Remus replied, smiling
"Sooo..." Tonks said slowly
"Yes. I love you." He breathed, cupping her face. He kissed her again softly, on the tip of her nose.
"Love you to." Tonks said, as he let her face go.
"I surprisingly guessed that." Remus laughed "We should probably go inside. It's kind of...raining."
Tonks seemed to only just notice the rain again, and that both of them were soaked to the skin from it. Remus took her hand and they walked side by side to her house. She let him and they both took off their soaked outer layers although it didn't make much difference. Remus laughed as Tonks fell over as she tried to take her boots off. Tonks pulled her boots off while sitting on the floor, pour out the water from inside them. After her boots were off, Remus took her hands and pulled her up. She landed unsteadily on her feet, very very close to Remus's body.
"Sorry about that." She chuckled, blushing a little.
"It's fine." He replied. He kissed her forehead before removing his own shoes. "Can I use your toilet?"
"Yeah. Upstairs, second door on your left." Tonks instructed. Remus nodded in thanks before heading upstairs. Tonks walked through to her bedroom which was downstairs and changed into clean and dry clothes. Remus had just came down the stairs, his clothes dry, when Tonks came out her room. He smiled when he saw her hair. It wasn't brown anymore, it was back to its usual colour, bubblegum pink.
"Nice hair." He said, still smiling. "Haven't seen it in a while." He said the last part very quietly under his breath.
Tonks blushed a little. "Thanks. Want to stay for a tea or coffee?"
"Coffee would be lovely, thanks." He replied. They both walked through to her kitchen. Remus stood by another bench while Tonks made the drinks. When she wasn't looking, Remus slipped his hands around her waist, causing her to gasp a little.
"You alright there?" He asked softly
"Fine. Drink shall be ready in a moment." She replied, her hair turning a brighter pink. He noticed this and released her, smiling. He took the mug for her and sat down at her small wooden table while she sat crossed legged on the countertop. As she silently drunk her tea, Tonks couldn't help but smile as wide as the Cheshire Cat.
"Sooo....what now?" She asked before finishing her drink. "Is there an us now...."
"I thought that was obvious Tonks." Remus chuckled "But yes. There could be an us if you want there to be."
"I would love that." Tonks said happily as she threw the mug into the sink. It made a smashing sound as it landed. Tonks sighed and face palmed when she realized what she'd done. Remus stood up and placed his mug on the bench, inspecting the broken one in the sink.
"You could repair that you know." He said
"Nah it's fine. I didn't like it anyway." Tonks replied. Remus smiled and shook his head.
"And that, is why I love you." Remus said softly as he stood in front of Tonks again. He kissed her lips lightly, smiling as he did so.
"I'd better go. It's getting late." Remus sighed. Tonks nodded and jumped off of the counter, before landing awkwardly and falling over. Remus laughed loudly before helping her up.
"Thanks." She sighed as she brushed dirt off of her back. She walked Remus to the door. Picking up his jacket he sighed as it was still soaking wet.
"I shall see you soon?" Tonks said, leaning against the wall
"Yeah. His funeral will be in a few days I expect." Remus sighed sadly, his expression softening. "Bye. Stay safe." He leaned down and kissed her cheek before heading to the door.
"You to." Tonks called after him as he walked away. As soon as she'd seen he'd gone safely, she closed the door quickly. Leaning her back against it, she sighed happily. Her hair almost glowed pink, and Tonks had a feeling her eye colour had gone pink as well. A quick glance in the mirror confirmed it.
Later on, the events of the past few hours played over in her head. The sudden attack of Death Eaters, someone being attacked by Greyback then finding out it was Bill, finding out Dumbledore was murdered by Snape. And then Remus kissing her, and meaning it. There couldn't have been a more perfect moment than that that she'd ever had before. It made the terrible things seem not so bad.
It's strange how the death of someone, can tear us apart, or better yet....unite us....
