Chapter 10 ~ The Wedding Part 2

Like I said earlier, the speech was copied from the Internet because I have never been to a wedding......that I remember.
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Tonks looked almost unrecognizable. She was wearing a pale pink strapless corset dress that gently brushed her knees. Andromeda had cried enthusiastically that she should wear high heels, but remembering her daughters record for clumsiness, they went with silver ankle boots instead. Her hair was a bright bubblegum pink, tied in a high pony tail that landed half way down her back. But the most beautiful thing was her eyes. Her eyes were a dark blue colour, and they twinkled like the stars in the night sky.

Tonks seemed to realize that everyone was looking at her, because her cheeks turned pink. She was smiling embarrassingly as she tried to keep her eyes on the floor. Ted was whisperering comfort to her, but she wasn't listening and just pretended that she was interested. But her smile widened even more when she saw Remus's face. His mouth was wide open in a smile. They locked eyes as the distance between them got shorter.

Their hands joined as they met at the top. Their wedding wasn't very traditional. Because they wanted very little people, they had no brides maids, no flower girls or a best man or anything like that. Remus slipped the ring for him into Tonks's hand, she knew exactly what it was, he had told her, and she held it tight in her hand. Once everything was settled, the Wedding Official started the ceremony.

"Dear Friends. We meet here for the joyful purpose of joining in marriage:

Remus John Lupin & Nymphadora Tonks

As you begin your journey through life together may I offer, for your consideration, some very important virtues? Among these are: Love, Loyalty, Respect, Trust, and Understanding. These are solid foundations for a happy and enduring home. The marriage contract is most solemn and it is not to be approached lightly, but rather thoughtfully, seriously, and with a deep realization of its obligations and responsibilities.

Remus, do you take this woman, Nymphadora, to be your lawfully wedded wife?"

Remus nodded and smiled "I Do."

"Do you promise to love and protect her, to honor and respect her, to keep her in sickness and in health, through the good times, and also through the bad times, forsaking all others, be faithful to her?"

"I Do." Remus said again, still smiling widely

"Nymphadora, do you take this man, Remus, to be your lawfully wedded husband?"

"I Do." She said happily, not bothering to her angry from the use if her real name. A few squeals and cries of happiness came from the pews, most likely from Andromeda and Molly.

"Do you promise to love and protect him, to honor and respect him, to keep him in sickness and in health, through the good times, and also through the bad times, forsaking all others, be faithful to him?"

"I Do." She said again, her smile growing larger.

"You are now about to give each other certain solemn promises. Please turn, face one another, hold both hands, and repeat after me."

Remus listened to what the man said, and repeated it perfectly.

"I Remus, take you Nymphadora, to be my lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and cherish."

Tonks then repeated what she had to say, eyes never wandering from Remus's.

"I Nymphadora, take you Remus to be my lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and cherish."

"The ring is a symbol of your marriage, a circle without beginning or end, and a symbol of wholeness, perfection, peace, and unity. Would the groom take the bride's ring, place it on her finger, hold it there, and repeat after me....."

"Nymphadora, I give you this ring, as a pledge of my faith and love, and a symbol of our unity." Remus repeated after the man said it. You could tell from the amount of emotion in it, that he meant it.

"Would the bride take the groom's ring, place it on his finger, hold it there, and repeat after me..."

"Remus, I give you this ring, as a pledge of my faith and love, and a symbol of our unity." Tonks said. He had to take a few seconds to compose herself, as the words at first, wouldn't come out.

"Now that you have joined yourselves in solemn matrimony and have become one, may you sincerely strive, all your lives, to meet this commitment with the same love and devotion that brought you here today. In other words, you may now kiss the bride."

The two turned to face each other again. Without hesitating, Remus placed his hands on Tonks's waist and pulled her into a kiss, that tied the knot of their important day. Everyone clapped and some whooped as the kiss ended. The church started to empty until it was only Remus and Tonks left. They knew what was coming when they stepped out the door; cheering, congratulations, confetti, and then, the after party!

Tonks took Remus's hand, and side by side, they left the church. As soon as they left through the door, they were showered with confetti, streamers and flower petals. Tonks cried out from fright, but she was soon laughing as everyone clapped.

For a few hours, everyone talked and chatted around the church before Ted announced that it was time to go.

"Right everyone. The After-Party shall be held at mine and Andromeda's place. So if you could all be there in the next five-to-seven minutes, that would be great, thank you." Ted called.

Ted took Dromeda's hand and they walked out of sight. Soon after, people started to file out of the grass area so they could Dissaparate without being seen. Remus and Tonks were the last to leave. The walked slow, arm in arm around the corner. They were about to go when Tonks suddenly threw her arms around him and kissed him passionately. Remus stumbled into a wall, not that be minded very much.

"What was that for?" he asked, breathless

"We won't get time to do that for the rest of the night." Tonks replied. "Might as well use the time alone."

Remus smiled before they kissed again, slower but still as emotional.

"And it has been used well. Come on, don't want to keep them waiting." Remus said. Tonks clutched his arm, and they were gone. Instantly appearing near Andromeda and Ted's house, the newly weds hurried to safety. It was unusually quiet. Terror filled Tonks's eyes as bad thoughts entered her mind.

"What if they're-" Tonks whispered

"They won't be. Here." Remus replied. He took two wands from his jacket pocket and handed Tonks her wand. She gripped it tightly as they advanced towards the house. One last quick kiss before they faced the door.

"Should we knock and see what happens?" Tonks asked

"Really Tonks?" Remus sighed. "You're an Auror. You don't just knock and expect the imposter's to welcome you in like 'Yeah sure come on in. Just making a sandwich, want one? Ok cool. Just to warn you, I'm gonna kill you after you've eaten. Ok? Ok.'."

"I know but still." Tonks replied. "I'm knocking."

Before Remus could argue, she had reached up and knocked loudly on the door. It was open a few seconds later by a happy faced Ted.

"Well look who finally turned up. Come on you two. And no sneaking off upstairs." Ted joked, winking.

"Dad!" Tonks cried, not believing what he just said

"Only joking. We've all been waiting for you." Ted said merrily

As they stepped into the living room, they were in for a shock. Not only was everyone able to fit in the room, but it had been changed completely. There was no loner any furniture, and the walls were now dark blue with white spots that glowed like stars, in the corner of the main wall was a pink moon. And, to top it all off, the room had been extended to a tent outside that had many lights hanging on the edge. Remus and Tonks's mouths were wide open in surprise. They knew there was going to be an After-Party, but they never thought it'd be something like this. Everyone started cheering and clapping as they entered the room.

"You really didn't have to do all this." Remus said, facing Ted. "But thank you."

"You're welcome. But, of course we had to. It's my daughters wedding and she's always been one to party." Ted replied. "We treat family very well. And you Remus, are now family. So, welcome to it!"

"Glad to be part of a family again." Remus chuckled lightly

"You've always been a part of our family Remus, you just didn't realize it." Molly said kindly, appearing behind them. "And you always will be."

"Thanks Molly, that means a lot." Remus said happily.

Conversations bounced loudly around the room, everyone feeling happier than they had done in a long time

"Alright everyone." Ted said loudly, shutting everyone up. "Food shall appear soon. But first, could the new couple please step forward for the first dance. Thanks."

The two excused themselves from their conversations before meeting in the middle of the 'dance floor'. Slow music started to play for every direction. Remus placed a hand gently on her waist before taking the other softly in his hand. Their hands, fitted perfectly together. Tonks's other hand had found his shoulder, and they danced. Neither of them were very good dancers, but no one really cared.

"I never got to say earlier, but you look absolutely beautiful." Remus whispered sweetly in her ear.

Tonks's hair turned even pinker. "Thanks. You look very handsome." She said. "You should wear suits more often, you look great in them."

"Maybe. Once this whole war blows over, then I might just have suits as my trademark look." Remus replied

Tonks chuckled before going tiptoes to reach his lips. They forgot that other people were there, but they still didn't do anything embarrassing.

"Oi, save it for the bedroom. Jeez!" Someone called from the crowd. Everyone laughed, even the couple. Looking over, they say Charlie smiling mischievously at them. He caught their eyes and winked before getting a bottle of fire Whisky.

"Had to be Charlie." Tonks sighed, shaking her head.

"I wonder what the twins would have said." Remus said

Tonks nodded, smiling, but the smile soon faded.

"Do you think we should have invited Harry?" Tonks asked

"We should have, but you know we couldn't. I do regret him not being here, but maybe he'll understand." Remus replied sadly

"Yeah...."

The song finally ended, and the floor filled up with other dancing couples as music filled the room once more. As the fourth song ended, Tonks sat down next to Ginny, her feet sore.

"Hey Tonks." Ginny said happily. "You look amazing."

"Thanks Gin. You do to." Tonks replied

"So, married now huh?" Ginny said

"Yeah. I just...can't believe it. I'm so happy." Tonks sighed dreamily

"You know, I think weddings are great at times like these, gets everyone's mind off of things when they get extremely pissed." Ginny laughed

"Yup. That's why it moved so fast. Because of the situation at hand." Tonks said quietly. "But enough of the doom and bloom....got your eye on anyone Ginny?"

Ginny blushed deeply but didn't reply. "Uh...maybe." She said after a while.

"Ooooh. Who is it?" Tonks asked, leaning forward.

Ginny said something under her breath.

"I'm sorry, what was that?" Tonks asked

"Harry." Ginny whispered

"Seriously!" Tonks cried. "Aw Gin that's adorable. I heard rumors that you dated briefly but then broke up."

"Yeah we did. I understand why...but-"

"But you still love him, I get it. But, I'll say this, you'll get him forever one day." Tonks promised

"Really" Ginny asked, very unsure

"Really." Tonks said. "I mean. You're beautiful, great Quidditch player, you're funny, and, you are related to Fred and George, that has benefits."

"Aw thanks Tonks. Hey I'm sorry but I really need the toilet. Bye for now." Ginny said quickly before scampering off, red hair bounding around. Remus soon replaced the empty seat beside her.

"Tired?" He asked

"No. Feet hurt from these shoes." Tonks sighed. You?"

"No. Care for another dance?" He asked

"Is it ok if I pass." Tonks sighed. "I'd love to, but I'm not feeling up to dancing again just now."

"That's great because honestly, I hate dancing." Remus whispered

Tonks laughed loudly.

"But you're great at it." She said

"I can be when I want to be." He replied, chuckling. "Drink?"

"Fire Whisky please." She replied

It was just after midnight. Everyone was either a tad tipsy or very pissed, but they where still having a great time dancing. The music and the dances, didn't match at all. But all sense of caring had vanished almost instantly. But now, many people had started to leave. Tonks's family left first, followed by Mad-Eye and the rest of the Aurors. Soon it was just Molly, Arthur, Charlie, Ted and Andromeda left with the newly weds.

Half past midnight and Tonks was talking to Remus again, cuddling up to him while sharing a bottle of Whisky.

"Then he-Tonks are you feeling on?" Remus asked, suddenly very worried

"I think I'm going to be sick." Tonks groaned. She jumped up and ran out the room, only just made it to the toilet before she started vomiting. Remus came in soon after and held her hair back. Her hair was now dark shade of purple, her face pale. Remus rubbed circles on her back. And it actually made her feel better. Tonks stopped vomiting a few minutes later. Remus had a glass of cold water to rinse her mouth with. Her face was even paler, beads of sweat formed on her forehead. She took the glass before taking a large mouthful and spitting it out. Sighing heavily, she rested her head against the wall.

"That's horrible." She groaned, voice weak and fragile.

"You alright now?" He asked, very concerned

"Yeah I thi-" Tonks had started to say before vomiting again. Remus kneeled next to her, once again holding her hair back and comforting her.

"I'll take you back. I'll return in a minute." Remus said softly before kissing her head and leaving her alone with the toilet.

"Ted, hey Ted." Remus called as he rushed into the room. Ted's smile faded when he saw the worry on Remus's face.

"It's Tonks. She's been sick." Remus panted.

"Ted, what's wrong?" Asked Andromeda

"Dora's sick." Ted replied

"I'm going to take her home so she can rest. Thanks for everything though, it's been brilliant." Remus said quickly. "Thank you, you needn't have gone through all that trouble."

"It was no trouble at all." Ted replied. He and Remus shook hands before Remus turned to leave.

"Please look after her." Andromeda said

"I will I promise." Remus called back

"Oh and Remus." Ted called

"Yeah?" Remus replied from the bathroom

"Welcome to the family."

Remus chuckled as he picked a very weak Tonks off of the floor.

"It'a fine. I can walk." She groaned

"No you can't. I'll take you home to bed." Remus replied softly

"Thanks Dromeda, Ted. We'll see you soon. "

Remus hurried outside with Tonks in his arms. She was getting hotter and shivering slightly. He knew the sooner they got home, the sooner he'll know that she'll be safe.

It was a few minutes before they reached the safety. Tonks was able to stand, but only with the support of Remus. She collapsed onto her bed, her dress left on the floor. Remus hugged her from behind and kissed her neck.

"Sorry about that." Tonks sighed

"It isn't your fault you got sick. No need to apologize."

"Thanks for taking me home. Even if it was earlier than we had hoped."

"You're welcome." Remus whispered, squeezing her slightly. "Goodnight."

"Goodnight." Tonks yawned. "Oh and Remus..."

"Mh?"

"I love you." She said. "We can celebrate tomorrow if you like?"

"I'd love that." He replied happily. "I love you to, Mrs Lupin....."
