Secrets Are Spilling

Skye stared at the ceiling of her dorm room. Zoey was filing through her book bag as she sat on her bed across the room. A smile hadn't left her lips all morning.

"I'm so not ready for these midterms on Monday," she sighed, running a hand through her red hair. Skye remained silent, staring at the ceiling like she had been all morning. Zoey looked over at her roommate and bit her lip

"Okay, I know you're not much of a morning person.. But this is off, even for you. Are you okay?" Zoey asked. Skye blinked a little and looked over at her

"Why wouldn't I be okay?" Skye swallowed hard, Zoey raised a brow

"Well.. For starters, you came in really late last night freaked out. And you barely spoke two words to me before you took a shower. You didn't want to talk about the ball, and you've been laying in bed all morning." Zoey pointed out. Skye shook her head and rolled away from her, facing the wall

"I'm fine," Skye mumbled. "Just didn't get much sleep, is all,"

Zoey sighed and looked at the alarm clock "Well, you better start getting ready. The Midterm Study Session in the library starts in an hour," she said, and went into the bathroom.

Skye sighed and slowly sat up, shaking her head as her mind went back to last night.

"Wait!" Skye gasped as she pushed Duncan off of her and sat up from the couch. Duncan stared at her, his teal eyes wide

"Fuck," he barked standing up quickly and rushing to fix his suit "I'm so sorry,"

"Just.. shut up," Skye mumbled "This is wrong, and you know it,"

Duncan swallowed hard, and ran a hand through his hair "I know," he sighed. Skye fixed her hair and dress and slowly stood up, eyeing him "I won't do this to Courtney. No matter how much she hurt you, she doesn't deserve this. And I really don't appreciate you pulling me into the middle of it," she snapped, bending down to pick up her shoes off of the ground. Duncan watched her, his eyes sad

"Skye.." he whispered, reaching for her. But she flinched away.

"No!" she snapped, causing him to blink in shock. She sighed and shook her head

"This can never happen again. I shouldn't have even let it get that far. We're both just in very vulnerable places and we thought this would help. But all it's done is make things worse." Skye said, by now she was on the verge of tears.

"This stays between us. If Courtney ever found out, she'd never forgive me," Skye whispered, pleading with him. Duncan looked at her

"Okay.. I promise," he said, nodding. She swallowed hard and blew out a long breath

"Good. I.. I have to leave..." she stuttered and began walking away.

"Skye," Duncan called after her, she slowly turned around and looked back at him. He looked at her "I don't regret anything," he said.

Skye shook her head "Never again," she finished, and walked out of the room quickly. Not looking back.

"Ugh.. Fuck," Skye sighed, rubbing her eyes. What a fucking mess.

"Do you have a headache?" Zoey asked, suddenly back from the bathroom. Skye slowly sat up, and looked at her roommate

"I have to tell you something, and you can never tell anyone else. Especially Courtney," Skye said. Zoey gave her a concerned look, but nodded and walked over. Sitting down on Skye's bed next to her

"Skye.. What's going on?" Zoey whispered. Skye began to tear up, and she slowly looked up at Zoey

"Duncan and I kissed last night," Skye whispered "More than once,"

Zoey's eyes shot wide, as she backed up. Surprised "What?"

Skye nodded, and looked down at her hands, feeling ashamed "And the worst thing is... I didn't stop it. Well, I mean, I did. But not soon enough. The damage had already been done." she whispered, her voice breaking. "And now... I don't know what to do. If I don't tell Courtney, it makes me more guilty. If I do, I hurt Duncan and Courtney. And that's the last thing I want. Duncan would never talk to me again if I said something. And Courtney would hate me,"

"I hate him so much right now for putting you in this position," Zoey growled. Skye shook her head

"It isn't fully his fault. I kissed back. We just got caught up in the moment. He and Courtney had just broken up, and I had just seen Jace kissing Heather-"

"WHAT!?" Zoey yelled. Causing Skye to jump. "Heather??"

Skye shook her head "I really don't wanna talk about it,"

Zoey sighed, and thought for a second "Well, from the sound of it. You both were single when it happened. I know that doesn't help much, but he technically didn't cheat. But still.." she said. Skye put her head in her hands

"I can't lose him. And I don't want to hurt her," she cried. Zoey touched her shoulder

"It was just kissing, right?" she asked gently. Skye nodded "Well then... You shouldn't tell her. It'll only cause unnecessary drama, and none of us need that before midterms," Zoey said. Skye wiped her tears, and nodded slowly

"Yeah... Maybe you're right," she said "But it still feels awful,"

Zoey pulled her roommate into her arms, hugging her "I know hun, I know. The only important thing is that only you me, and him know about this. And it's going to stay that way,"

Skye nodded, and sighed. Feeling slightly relieved.

But what both girls didn't know, was that someone else had been listening to their entire conversation through the wall.

Heather slowly pulled her ear away from the thin walls that separated her room from Skye's, an evil smirk on her lips.

"Oh sweetie.." she sneered "You're just making it too easy for me,"
