Author's Note: I got inspired by a bunch of stories to do this. This story might be short due to lack of ideas and possible writer's block. This is my take on what if Mario and Luigi have a special ability to sense/connect/ communicate/ and feel each other's pain using their twin bonds? ~Third Person Point of View~

Ever since they're born the two twin brother's Mario and Luigi were born with a special power. What is it? People call it the psychic twin phenomenon, it's a rare ability when twins can sense each other, feel the other's pain, and communicate with their twin self. But there's a weakness to the bond, if the twin's trust for each other is broken or if the other 'dies' the ability fades until their trust is restored or if the other twin is revived/alive. (I'm making this up so please no hate). The following montage/flashbacks will show how much their bonds strengthen and helped each other. (These take place in a alternate universe kinda). 

~Flashback/Montage~

During the first mansion incident we find Luigi searching for his older twin brother Mario with his Poltergust 3000. As the green capped plumber searched he tried to use his bond to communicate with Mario Bro? Mario? Where are you? He spoke with his mind. L_I_I?!? A static reply responded. MARIO?!? IS THAT YOU?!? Luigi shouted. H_L_ M_!!! Mario replied. Luigi followed the faint connection to the bottom of the well, as he looked in the secret altar through a Lion's mouth to see... Mario trapped in a painting!! Though there's no sound coming from the painting Luigi could hear his big brother's cries for help GET ME OUT OF HERE!! Mario pleaded to his little bro. I will Mario I promise!! Luigi declared. 

When Mario and Luigi were separated as babies by the evil Kamek their psychic bond awakened. Kamek captured Luigi but Mario was saved by the Yoshi's, Using his new found ability Mario lead his Yoshi friends to Baby Bowser's Castle. Once they defeated a Giant Baby Bowser the brother's were reunited and delivered to their parents safe and sound. 

Once the bros were in High School Luigi was a smart teen while his brother Mario was a popular athlete. Though for Wario and Waluigi  they would beat and bully the younger Mario brother, but then Mario would protect and save Luigi. "How did you find me? Let alone know I was getting bullied?" Luigi asked. "Our bond bro." Mario replied though it made Luigi confused. "Bond?" Luigi spoke. "During my track and field practice I sensed that you're in trouble, as I made my way to your location I've felt pain in my arms and body knowing that you're hurt." Mario replied as he used a first aid kit on Luigi. "Thank you Mario." Luigi thanked. "You're welcome bro." Mario spoke as he helped Luigi up. 

~Flashback/Montage end~

As the years go by the two brothers became great heroes of the Mushroom Kingdom with their brotherly bond they're unstoppable.
