Chapter 2: Breaking the Gate

<Olimar's P.O.V.>

While trying to get my engine back to the ship, I heard someone yelling at me. "Olimar!!" The voice yelled out, "Over here!" I looked back at the Onion and then the other way. I saw a gate, and walked towards it. When I walked to the gate though, I saw a familiar face...

"(Y/n)! There you are!" I said with happiness in my voice, "Are you doing okay? Are you hurt?" They shook their head and answered calmly, "No, I am alright. I can also see you're doing alright as well, that's good."

I was glad that they were not hurt. I looked above me seeing that there was something above us, it looked like another Pikmin was there, but where was it's Onion? "Olimar, is there any other one of these creatures that can help us break this gate?" She/He asked with hope in her/his voice, "They might be able to break it and get me outta here!"

I nodded and ran quickly to the Onion to gather the red Pikmin. They were sitting at the Onion and just imitating me for some reason. As soon as I gathered them, I started to notice that the sun was starting to set. I had to hurry, or I'd have to leave them behind. Me and the Pikmin ran quickly to the gate, and I started to attack the gate with the Pikmin.

<(Y/N)'S P.O.V>

I was grateful for Olimar hearing my call, honestly, I was getting kinda worried he wouldn't notice me... Thank Pikmin he did!

The gate started to quickly fall thanks to the Pikmin's help. The Pikmin I found after destroying the gate walked to me and jumped joyfully, while Olimar's Pikmin jumped joyfully and walked back to him, gathering in a group behind him.

I walked to Olimar and hugged him, "Thanks Oli, I was getting claustrophobic being trapped there..." I then looked towards the Pikmin and thanked them as well, "Thanks little ones! You were all a big help getting the wall down, and I am grateful for your help!" The Pikmin tilted their heads, then made little meep noises.

"The sun is setting," Olimar said gathering all of his Pikmin, "Gather up your Pikmin and get it into the Onion."

That one sentence made me flinch, "Uhm, That's going to be a  problem..." I said with a bit of fear in my voice, "One, what's an 'Onion,' and Two, this little one doesn't have an 'Onion' or whatever it's called."

This seemed to confuse Olimar for some reason, "What do you mean it doesn't have an Onion? And the Onion is the mothership of the Pikmin, it gathers them and keeps them safe." He looked towards the Pikmin as it shifted into a yellow color, "... Wait one second, Pikmin can change colors as well?" He looked to the Pikmin and then tapped one on the head. It didn't seem like it liked being tapped on its head, and smacked his hand with its leaf.

"Must be a special Pikmin," I said with a bit of kindness in my voice as I went to pick it up, "Maybe the Pikmin doesn't stay with the Onion and stays independent or something..."

The Pikmin hugged me, and made a meep noise. "Ma! Lu! Pa!"

I then looked at the sky, and noticed that it was turning a dark blue, and was about to run to my ship when I remembered... "OH NO, I FORGOT IT'S STUCK IN THE MUD!" I ran to my ship nearby, and tried to see if it could still function. Thankfully, it could, but I couldn't get it out of the mud by myself, or else it'd get even more stuck.

Olimar was about to walk him and the Pikmin into the water, but when he did, the troop of Pikmin started panicking. "Huh? Oh! Everyone out of the water!!" He said leading them to the shore, "(Y/n), I don't think I can bring them to the water!"

I looked to him and then said, "Just get them to the Onion, and get to the skies! I'll be fine!" I learned some things from my brother, so I know how to survive in unknown habitats. I don't know any of the monsters around here, but I can survive tonight, besides at least the cockpit isn't in any water, or have any water in it. "Me and this Pikmin will stay here on the surface, try to come back tomorrow, and we'll figure something out then."

Olimar had reluctance, but nodded, and went to his broken ship, and tried to see if his ship would work with his engine that the Pikmin themselves transported. Thankfully, it worked.

Tonight was going to be the longest night of my life ever...

<Olimar's P.O.V.> *When he's on the ship, about to exit the atmosphere*

(Y/n) had just told me to get to my ship, since she/he wasn't going to get her/his ship out anytime soon. I reluctantly did as told, and ran to the Dolphin. I whistled to tell the Pikmin to get to the Onion, and they gathered into it. As soon as I entered my ship, and started to take off, the Onion did so as well. I looked back at the ground as we were close to exiting the atmosphere. I only could mutter a few words in hope they don't get harmed while on the surface.

(Well, the gate has been destroyed, and you are free to wonder around now during the day! Unless y'all decide to look around while it's night time... Maybe that will turn out to be an interesting chapter... :> Anyways, if you ask why you and Olimar are close, y'all have basically been partners for the whole time you have been working for Hocotate Freight. You both basically know each other like siblings, but you are partners, and only partners. And yes, I added a new Pikmin, I thought it would help out the storyline a little, but don't think it's going to make more of it, it's basically just a Special Pikmin since it changes its colors and elements to match its surroundings and can't be eaten. :/ Anyways, have a great day/night my PokéHeroes/Pokévillians/Hocotians/Koppains! I hope you enjoyed this chapter!)

(Also something I found cute-)
