>Olimar's P.O.V.<

As I was falling with the ship and kind of blacking out, I heard my partner, (Y/n), yelling my name and telling me to hold on. She/He seemed to be panicking, and it kind of scared me as well. I was falling in a ship that was falling apart because of the impact of the meteor, for Bulbie's sake!!

As the ship fell, and most of the parts were scattered across the land, my ship crashed, fell onto the ground on it's side, and tossed me onto the ground with a loud thump. I was suprised my helmet didn't break from impact.

You may already know me from my partner, but my name is Captain Olimar. While traveling through space, my ship was struck by a meteor, and (Y/n) tried coming after me but her/his ship soon started falling apart soon after she/he entered the planet's atmosphere... I must have blacked out, and I awoke on the surface of a weird planet. With so many parts lost, the skeletal hull of my beloved Dolphin is a painful sight. The engine is gone... I'm stranded. To make matters worse, my atmospheric sensors indicate this planet's environment contains high levels of poisonous oxygen. Our life-support systems can function for only 30 days. If I can't repair the Dolphin by then and find them, then... No! Better not to think about it. I must find the missing ship parts and my partner before that happens.

I looked around trying to see if anyone could help me, but as I did, I saw something red buried underneath the ground. It looked to be something circle-like and had a flower on its top. I wonder what it is.

Walking towards the object buried in the ground, I put my hand on it and dragged my hand across it's surface. As soon as I did that though, it popped out of the ground, causing me to jump back in surprise.

The object started flying in the air, then landed on the ground. After that, the Onion had created something using the flower on it's top. I decide to write down something on my notes.

"A strange thing has appeared before me. I had barely begun my search when it reared up as if it were waiting for me. It then dropped a single seed. What is it? Is it alive? Is it a machine? It resembles a vegetable on my home planet that we call an onion. I shall call this an Onion too."

I took a look at the sprout as it swayed around curiously. I took some more notes of this.

"The seed that the Onion dropped took root in the soil and has now produced an adorable little sprout. This sprout emits a strange light, and it sways back and forth without benefit of the wind. I cannot help but think it is calling to me. I am compelled - I must approach it..."

I walked up to the sprout, and plucked it from the ground. When I did, a red Pikpik carrot-like creature came from the ground.

(Look at the antenna, that's the Red Pikmin)

The creature tilted its head, and ran up to me as if it was expecting something from me. I walked away to see if it would follow me, and it did. I wonder, does the creature have a name? I'll call it a Pikmin until I find out what they are called.

"Extraordinary! When I plucked the sprout, it turned out to be a living creature, not a plant! Picking it has done no visible damage... It just stands there, staring at me. Its shape is similar to the Pikpik brand carrots I love so much... I believe I shall call it a Pikmin."

The Pikmin seemed to be staring at the flowers nearby and wanting me to throw it at them. I threw it, but what happened next, I did not expect at all.

It attacked the flower, and something fell off of it. It then carried the thing towards the Onion. When the Pikmin made it to the Onion, the Onion took the object and created another Pikmin. Whatever the thing was, I shall call it a pellet, it was used to reproduce a Pikmin for the Pikmin's species to survive. Interesting...

"Astonishing! The Onion has sown more seeds! The small red pellet the Pikmin harvested after cutting down a flower appears to be some type of food that can propagate more Pikmin. The Onion seems to be a sort of incubator... Needless to say, I must study this life-form more."

*(Y/n's) P.O.V.*

As I look around for something to help me break down the wall blocking me from finding Olimar, I noticed something in the corner of my eye that didn't seem to be there before. A little leaf was behind a tree stump, glowing like a star. I walked close to it, and saw that it looked to be a creature, but it looked like Olimar's favorite vegetable. A Pikpik carrot, but instead of a red coloring, it seemed to have a fading color pallet. It was a really colorful creature.... I wonder if I can call it to see if it can help me?

I whistled to it, a flute-like noise echoing around. The creature, noticing the whistle, ran up to me as it faded into a blueish color and made a small peep noise. I wonder what this thing is? I'll call it a Pikmin! Since, it looks kinda like a Pikpik carrot and a person combined. Maybe this thing can help me break down that gate!

I tried to look at the gate and pointed to it, hoping that it would understand what I was trying to get it to do. It somehow knew what I was trying to get it to do, and it walked up to me, trying to get me to throw it. I threw it, and it landed on top of the gate. It started to attack the gate rapidly, and the gate slowly but surely fell down. This might take a while, I wonder what the Pikmin I've found can do? And did Oli find some Pikmin as well?

As the Pikmin started breaking the gate I could hear a lot of squeaking noises. Could those be hostile beasts!? I hope not, because if they are... Then I'd better find a place to hide, and stay for when it comes to night fall... I also have to find my ship parts because I only have 29 days left before this stupid life support decides to quit on both me and Olimar.

I think I saw one of Olimar's ship parts on the other side, so maybe I can find away to transport that- Huh? Where'd it go? Wait, over there! Is that Olimar?! "Olimar!!! Over here!!"

(A Cliffhanger has been made. I did use some of the original prologue, but I changed a little bit of it too. I hope you enjoyed this chapter!
