First Date
Pikachu's POV:
"Oooh, I'm just so excited for you!" Pikachu's mom, Alolan Raichu, squealed. "My boy, about to have his first date! You're growing up so fast, you know that?"
"Yes, yes, I do," Pikachu groaned as Alolan Raichu begun to examine him.
"You know," Alolan Raichu said as she begun to straighten his bowtie, "It was hard work getting you into the world. But I knew it was worth it." She put her hand on his shoulder. "As soon as I glanced into those eyes that your old Pichu self used to have, I knew that you were special. You were going to accomplish great things, do good in this world."
"Well, there," she suddenly interrupted. "You are good to go!"
"Thanks, Mom!" Pikachu shouted as he ran outside.
"Remember to be home by 10!" his mom added as he begun to disappear around the corner.
Eevee's POV:
"I'm going to go get dinner by myself," Eevee said to Umbreon.
"Okay, girl," Umbreon responded. "But why?"
"I'm just going to prove that you can trust me being alone in the world. Because I'll need that skill later in life." Eevee went outside, ready to leave.
"Alright," Umbreon said. "Go forth, my child, and be the worst you can."
"See you," Eevee quickly responded. Then she went around the corner and into an alleyway. Then she begun to change.
She quickly added a bow that was white on the outline, but pink on the inside with flowing ribbons with a girl-colors rainbow to her left ear. Then she fixed her fur, cleaned herself off, and shook all the excess stuff out.
"There," she muttered. "I'm ready."
Pikachu's POV:
When is she going to get here? Pikachu wondered as he waited outside of Dachsbun & Alcremie's Pizzas: For Every Meal, Anyday! It had been an hour since she needed to be there. What was going on?
Just then, he heard a bunch of bushes rustle, and out popped out . . . Eevee!
"There you are!" Pikachu sighed with relief. "I was beginning to get worried! Where were you?"
"Getting myself ready," Eevee panted, trying to shake off all the leaves that were stuck to her fur. "I was also trying to find my way here without GPS. It's hard to get here without it."
"Understandable," Pikachu responded. "So, should we go in?"
"I guess," Eevee said.
As they stepped in, they were met by a Pokemon that was three times their size. As she looked down at them, Pikachu got a good look at her.
She had ears that were shaped a little like dragon's wings, except with the round edges of an elephant's (both animals in our world, not theirs). She also looked oddly human, but with the features of a Pokemon's, with strands of cream-colored . . . things coming off of the beginning of the bottom of the ears. She had pastel pink colors on her body that made her look like she was wearing a jacket, with similar colored pink strands at the top of her head & ears. The rest of her body was cream colored, except for her dark blue, sapphire-like eyes and her white-colored, flare-shaped tail.
"Hello! I'm Audino. What can I do for you?" the Pokemon enthusiastically said.
Eevee's POV:
"Table for two, please," said Eevee.
"Coming right up! Please, follow me," Audino responded cheerfully.
As Pikachu and Eevee followed Audino slowly (her chubby legs kind of caused a waddle-like walk), they took a good look around the place.
It was a fancy place, with chandeliers (not Chandelure, thank goodness) hanging from the ceiling, giving the place a soft, warm glow. There were multiple tables; however, only a few people were there.
"Why are there very little people here?" Eevee wondered aloud.
Audino sighed. "Lately, our business hasn't been going very well, but it all started when I came to work here."
"I'd always wanted to be a nurse," Audino continued in a sad tone. "But when I tried, they told me that I wasn't eligible. I was too wonky at walking and I couldn't get anywhere on time. This job was the only one who would let me in. But even then, it's extremely hard for me to deliver orders on time. So, now I'm in this position. But I still hope that someday, somehow, I can be a nurse." She looked toward the stars.
Pikachu had tears in his eyes. Eevee just responded, "Wow. That . . . was . . . so beautiful."
"Well, here we are! Tell me when you are ready to order!" Audino suddenly interrupted, showing Pikachu and Eevee a small table. As soon as they'd sat down, Audino scurried away as fast as she could.
"I feel so bad for Audino," Pikachu said as soon as she was out of earshot. "She seems like she genuinely wants to be whoever she wants to be."
Why does that feel like me? wondered Eevee. Who am I meant to be? Who should I follow?
"I agree," Eevee responded. "I'm going to find a way to help her be a nurse."
"Which sounds better, the Strawberry Cream Dessert or the Chocolate Cream Dessert?" Pikachu asked abruptly.
"Did you hear what I just said? " Eevee exclaimed. "I'm trying to help Audino, and you're just wondering about what dessert is better? "
"What? I'm hungry!" Pikachu said loudly. Then they realized that they were being stared at.
"As you were," Eevee said. Everyone went back to their own business.
"BTW, yes, I heard what you said," Pikachu whispered. "But how? You don't know anything about nursing. You don't even have any connections to any nurses, unless I'm very mistaken."
"You're not mistaken," Eevee said, "But I do have something that will help."
She took out the Vial of Truth, but then immediately hid it again.
"You ready?" Audino said.
"Yeah," Eevee said. "I'll take a water, a Sweet Pepperoni Special, and a slice of Chocolate Cream Dessert."
"I'll take a Marshmallow Cake, water, and Electrically Charged Pineapple Summer Special," Pikachu boldly stated.
"Coming right up!" Audino said. "The wait might be long, but it'll be worth it!"
Audino walked away again. Eevee and Pikachu resumed their conversation.
"This," Eevee continued, bringing out the Vial of Truth again, "is the Vial of Truth. It only works for two minutes, but it makes the victim tell the truth on anything you ask them."
"Cool," Pikachu said.
"Here it iiiis!" Audino exclaimed. Eevee quickly hid the Vial of Truth and tried to act normal. "Your orders! That's a record time!"
"Heck yeah!" Pikachu exclaimed. "We were waiting only 2 minutes!"
"Enjoy!" Audino finished. Then she walked away.
After dinner (Pikachu's POV):
"This is amazing," sighed Pikachu.
"Yeah, I agree," agreed Eevee as the moonlight reflected off of her.
How the moonlight seems to make her glow, that makes her prettier than ever before, thought Pikachu. He couldn't remember a single moment where Eevee wasn't beautiful. He felt so close to her, as her gentle breath created a slight fog in the air, colored silver by the moon's rays. There was a slight chill in the air, but Pikachu didn't mind. Eevee's warmth could be sensed, even though Pikachu was about a foot away from her.
He moved a little closer to Eevee. As he did, she begun to speak again.
"Pikachu . . . " She hesitated. "Do you really know who I am?"
"Not really," Pikachu responded, kind of surprised, "But you seem like a genuinely nice person. Someone I want to be friends with."
Eevee flinched. "Yeah, so - "
She was cut off by two simultaneous shouts.
"Pikachu/Eevee! Why aren't you home yet?/Why didn't you return an hour ago?"
