Here is my rough estimate of the bad to good ratio of fanfictions on Wattpad:

5:1

Five to one.

I mean, this is a very rough estimate, but take a second to consider this:
When you search up, say, "BBRae," you get fifty garbage stories about the exact same few things:

-power swap
-Raven slowly warming up to Beast Boy after Terra ditches him
-Teen Titans go to high school
-I dunno, give me another one.

I'm not saying that if you wrote about one of these topics, your fanfic is automatically bad, I'm just saying that these topics are way overdone, and it's hard to find an original plotline.

Then, of course, there's the other ten or so stories that are actually worth reading, because they either a) use one of the overused plots above, and put a fresh/interesting take on it, or b) make a whole new plot (a whole new plot, a new fantastic point of view-sorry. I needed to let out my inner Disney princess. Keep reading).

So, keep stuff like that en tête when you're trying to come up with an original plot for your book

P.S. en tête is basically French for in mind, but I couldn't think of the exact phrase I wanted to use in English, so I used French instead.
