This is gonna take place before the spread of the infection reached the outpost

Your pov: Me and Soldier were hanging around the outpost. He was smoking a cigarette. I've been trying my best to stop him from smoking, but nothing seems to work. I too happen to work for the military, alongside him. We are here because of an outbreak which was announced on the news and now we must defend the outpost and any travelers in search of help. I also happen to be the only human and possibly only female here which was strange for me and probably the other soldiers but I've gotten used to it.

After a while a soldier walked up to us. "The base commander would like to see you" he said a bit nervously. Most of the other soldiers are a bit scared of us since we're one of the toughest ones here. We started to walk to the base commanders station. We walked in and the base commander who we also call 'torcher' was at a large table arranging some papers. He glanced up at us "I need you two to go outside of the outpost and take out some infecteds. "But why us?" Soldier said. "Because you two are the strongest soldiers we have here, and I don't want any of the others getting their asses killed" Soldier took a step forward "But why can't you just send o-" Torcher cut him off by yelling "No! Your supposed to follow my orders, now go......*sigh* please" Soldier stood up straight "Yes commander" and with that we both walked out.

I slightly looked back at Torcher who had his head leaning against his hand. I don't blame him for yelling, I honestly feel bad for him, he's been stressed out lately with all the drama about the outbreak. I wish I could give him a hug.....but I'm probably not aloud to do that. Me and soldier left the safety of the base and towards the ruckus of two infecteds wandering around trying to find a way in. "Alright time to put these numbnuts out of their misery" Soldier said as he took out his combat knife and rushed up to them. I quickly went after taking out my combat knife and we both stabbed them. Even though I'm a soldier, I still feel really bad for killing to people who were once innocent.

"Okay let's head back" he said wiping off his knife and walking back to reinforced doors of the outpost. Once we got in we went back to chilling at our spot again. I smiled but slowly gave him a 'bruh' face when he took out another cigarette and lit it. I sighed "Is there anything I can do to stop you from smoking?" He glanced down at me. "Well.......nope sorry sweetheart, probably nothing" he said which made me blush a bit but get slightly mad. "Hmm" I thought about something and smirked. "Would this help you quit?" I said pulling his face towards me and kissed him. He widened his eyes and dropped his cigarette from his hand but kissed back. We parted and he blushed but smiled looking down at me again. "Well, maybe I will quit, but an addiction takes a while to stop, I may need more kisses" he said with a wink which made me blush and giggle.

In the background were to soldiers staring at us, probably fanboying. Soldier noticed them and shot them a glare which made them quickly run off within the speed of light. He then looked at me again with a charming smile like nothing happens, we both began to laugh.
