She Helped Me

He survived. He and his sister were the only ones that survived the experiments subjected by Hydra. His powers were sporadic since he had yet to control them.

Y/n watched him in his little fish tank as she liked to call it. Y/n couldn't help but feel bad for the twins. They had a choice to join Hydra and gain powers. She did not.

Y/n was born to a prisoner of Hydra. When her mother died, Hydra took her and trained her. They taught her different languages and accents. They taught her how to hide in plain sight. They subjected her to her own experiments to gain her elemental powers. The best part, for Hydra, was that they didn't have to brain wash her because Hydra was all she knew. She thought what she did was what everyone did. She thought what she did was right, even though it wasn't. Of course she didn't know. She knew nothing about her true identity and what's actually morally right.

She walked to the glass and placed her hand there. "Think of a happy thought. That's what I do when I can't seem to focus."

Suddenly he zoomed across the room corned between the glass and wall that septated him from his sister. When he finally had control he looked to y/n, and she couldn't help but gasp. His blue eyes almost seemed electric as they pierced into her own e/c ones. For a moment all they did was stare at each other entranced by the person that was in front of them.

"I... I don't have to many happy memories printsessa. Many of them are clouded by all the bad things that have happened to my family."

"I... I'm sorry. Here... Close your eyes and focus on what I'm saying." She watched as he did what she told him.
"Can you remember a favorite place you went to when you were little?"

After a while, she saw him smile. "Yes. It was a lake my mother would always take Wanda and me to in the winter so we could skate."

"Alright. Imagine the lake. Feel the air on your face and take deep breaths. Watch as snow begins to fall down. Imagine getting ready to put on your skates."

His smile widened, and he hadn't been fidgeting like he had been doing before having an outburst. "Now. I want you to begin to see everyone you love there ready to skate with you. Tell me who is there, and tell me what you're doing."

Before he could say anything, Pietro heard a scream. He opened his eyes to see that someone had knocked her out and was having guards drag her out the room. He just met this girl, and he already was getting attached to her.

The next day Pietro found himself being thrown to the ground. Beside him was his sister, who offered him a hand to get up. When they both stood, Pietro noticed the same girl. She looked to be around his age.

Then he noticed a man walk out. He, with the help of the girl, began to train Wanda and Pietro. It went on like this for a long time after. Days of training where they learned to control their powers.

The girl would always be pulled away at the end of each training. He always would wonder what happened to her.

One night, he found himself having trouble sleeping. His powers had been acting up. He found himself listening to her advice on the first day. He got to the point where he was imagining all the people here loved and cared about. He saw his mother, father, and Wanda. Then he saw her. The girl who he'd yet to ask for her name. He had to help her skate because she had never been, and he found himself catching her every now and then before she could fall.

Pietro opened his eyes in the morning. He was shocked that he slept through the whole night. He smiled at the thought that she had helped him. He got ready to notice his brown hair continue to change. It seemed the more he used his powers, the more silver gray his hair turned.

He was surprised to see the man named Strucker at training. The girl was beside him, and they told the twins about their mission. Their very first mission, and they already had the chance to get revenge on Stark.

He found himself fighting very close to the girl. He went to go help Wanda when Stark himself took the girl. Pietro didn't even realize the Avengers had left.

"Pietro... They're gone, and they took your little girlfriend." Wanda spoke.

Pietro felt his blood boil. He had to get her back.

Eventually Pietro and Wanda found out Hydra was the true enemy. They helped the Avengers defeat Ultron, but Pietro almost died.

He found himself in a medical area in what he supposed was the Avengers compound. He looked around to see that the girl was on one of the other beds. Before he could get up,
Wanda gently pushed him down.

"She's going to be okay brother. Stark and Banner are trying to get her memories back or at least find a way for her to know the truth about Hydra and what's actually right."

"I don't understand."

"She's been under Hydra her whole life. Her mother was prisoner to them and died in their prisons. Instead of leaving the girl to die, they took her and raised her on wrong ideas and values. Apparently her mother was the Natasha lady's sister, so that's why they took her. Now they're trying to find a way to tell her what's actually right in the world. I don't know how they're doing it though. They said she should be up by tomorrow. Now you need your rest."

Pietro grumbled as she pulled the covers over him. "Can they at least move me closer to her?"

"What's your deal Pietro? Why do you like her? What's so different about her compared to all the other girls you go with?"

Wanda's words stung, but they were true. He never was good at long term relationships, and now that he almost died, he realized he needed to change some of the things in his life. Especially the way he treated the people he loved.

"I just... She helped me learn to control my powers. She cared about me."

"But you don't even know her. You don't even know her name. I'd be surprised if she remembered you. She never responded to us during training."

"Probably because she would've gotten hurt if she did. That or they told her not to talk to us, and she believed it since they are all she knows." Pietro defended the girl.

"I don't think I'll ever get you and your romantic choices."

Pietro laughed closing his eyes. "Says the sister who fancies a red and green robot man. Let's face it sister, we both managed to fall in love with people we have hardly known."

He opened his eyes to see his sister blush. "Fine. I'll move you closer to her, but you better not tell anyone. Especially Vision."

"So that's his name?" Pietro laughed.

She nodded moving him closer to the girl. She left, and he turned to look at her. He closed his eyes and got some rest.

The next day he opened his eyes to see e/c eyes staring into his own. She smiled as she reached out and took his hand.

"Your hair is silver now." Her free hand ran through his silver locks.

"Yes it is." He laughed. "I was able to control my powers thanks to you and your advice printsessa."

"You did. I'm so proud of you Pietro." She squeezed his hand as she scooted closer to him. "What did you see?"

"I saw my family, and I saw you. I don't even know your name, and yet I think I'm falling in love with you." He smiled.

"My name is y/n. And... I... I think I'm falling for you too." She smiled.

She gently wrapped her arms around his waist and rested her head on his shoulder. They both closed their eyes and fell into a deep and peaceful sleep.
