Prolouge: From the Heavens
No one's POV
It was a quiet day for everyone at the Azur Lane base. No signs of Siren or Red Axis activity has shown up as of yet, giving all the girls a peaceful and wonderful day so far.
At the beach, several of the lower ranked girls were having the times of their lives. Some were swimming in the water, others were either playing in the sand or playing volleyball, as the rest were casually relaxing under the sun. Others were walking around the base, chatting with each other. Some were even at the campus, learning. Everyone had a smile on their faces as nothing has happened today. But that won't last for long...
At the docks, the one and only Grey Ghost, Enterprise, stood by the edge of one dock, staring out into space. Above her her eagle flew above, flying towards the sea.
"..." She doesn't say anything. She was too distracted in her thoughts as the gentle waves crash against the dock and the smell of salt water fills her nostrils. A gentle breeze of wind passes by, which her long white hair and coat was caught in. A flock of seagulls cry for one another as they flew over her head.
'Where is he?' Enterprise questions in her mind, squinting at the far distance of the sea floor as if trying to find some thing or some one. 'He was supposed be here by now...'
"Thought I would find you here." A British feminine voice spoke up behind her.
"Huh?" Confused, Enterprise turns around and was met with one of the best ships from the Royal Navy, Prince of Wales.
"Oh...it's you." Enterprise says, relaxing upon seeing the other. "Why are you here?"
"I was wondering if you had happen to know if the new Commander had arrived yet. But seeing you here made me suspect he hasn't, correct?"
"I haven't seen him yet." Enterprise replies as Prince of Wales walked to her side and stops when she was near the edge of the docks, like Enterprise. "Nor do I think anyone else has."
Hearing the second sentence from Enterprise made Prince of Wales let out a frustrated sigh as she folds her arms under her breasts. "Strange. He was supposed to arrive much earlier today and yet he hasn't."
"Do you think something happened to him?" Enterprise asks as the two were now facing the sea. "No one has received any messages or distress call from him today. Maybe the Sirens or the Red Axis got to him before he could message us? They've been quiet for the past few days. Perhaps they were waiting to ambush him?"
"I don't believe so, no. I believe he's not coming from the direction of them. But, there is something odd that has been bothering me ever since I've learned we would be getting a new Commander."
"Bothering you?" Enterprise repeats, puzzled. "Like what? He's not another perv like the previous one, is he?"
Wales shook her head before looking at Enterprise. "I'm not sure about that. But, no, that's not what I'm talking about."
"Then, what?" Enterprise asks with a cocked eyebrow.
Meanwhile...

It was rather peaceful far into the sea. There was a gentle breeze as the waves were calm. However, the sound of an jet engine coming closer kind of ruined the moment.
"From what I've been told and read from a few documents, the Commander was involved in some kind of strange experiment." Wales continues.
In the clouds high in the sky, something shiny and silver flew at an incredible speed. It appeared to be a massive yet slender four-legged creature covered in gleaming silver scales. Its most notable feature is its wings, which have fused into a trident-like structure, each segment ending in an opening designed to expel red energy. Its back is lined with fin-like projections. Its head has a small crest and its eyes are blue. Its chest has three horizontal gaps that are used to take in and pressurize air like a jet engine.
"An experiment?" Enterprise asks, shocked. "What kind of experiment?"
The creature dives down a bit as the energy from its wings die down. After a few seconds of free falling, the energy bursts to life as the creature leans upwards and flew in a loop, before returning to normal. It then starts to ascend as it spun itself and did a barrel roll back to the clouds before flying normally again.
"I wasn't told. And I don't think anyone else was told either. The documents that we received involving him in the experiment were highly classified and several parts were even censored. The only information that wasn't was his regular life outside of the experiment."
The creature looks down to the sea waves below. It's eyes scans the sea floor for something.
After a moment, the creature found what it was looking for. It's pupils became thin as it stares at its new target.
The creature tilts its body to the left a little bit before descending to the waves. As it did, the creature suddenly picked up incredible speed as the ends of its wings suddenly push out more energy, creating a shockwave behind the creature.
"But from what I could scramble together, he was able to make himself turn into some kind of weapon that no one has ever seen or thought of before."
The creature dives bomb into the ocean. A moment later it reemerges from under the water with a struggling shark in its claws. The shark wiggles about, trying to break free, but the creature dug its claws deeper into its flesh, killing it.
"He's not able to turn into or summon a ship, but something else entirely. It was reported that this decision was for an "tactile advantage"."
The creature rises higher into the air before speeding up again, breaking the sound barrier. It soars across the sky and was above the clouds in a matter of seconds. And in a few minutes, the creature could see the base of Azur Lane from its hight. The creature squints it's eyes at the base, as if thinking it was an illusion. However, it slowly starts to lower itself and pick up speed.
...
Enterprise looks at Wales with an unintelligible expression. She was both confused and concerned about what she was told. "So, what? What could he have possibly gone for that could give us a "tactical advantage"? And does this mean we'll be replaced by him and anyone else that was involved in the experiment?"
Wales shook her head yet again. "No. From what we've been told, he was the first of his kind. He's to be placed with us for a few weeks so that not only he can learn his full capabilities, but also for us to be there in case he looses control."
"Because we're a bunch of warships?"
Wales nod. "Yes."
"..." Enterprise doesn't say anything. She folds her arms and rest one hand under her chin as she looks out to the sea yet again. "What could we possibly be dealing with here?" She mutters.
"I'm just as curious as you are, Enterprise." Wales says.
"..." Enterprise took a glance at Wales. "Do we at least know his name?"
Wales nods. "Yes. His name is y/n l/n, second son out of three children of two normal civilians who unfortunately didn't make it out from the first Siren invasion."
"..." Enterprise doesn't turn to Wales. She was too busy trying to piece everything together as she stares into the sea.
...
Several miles out from the base, a few ship girls were standing on their ships, scouting the area for any unusual activity. However, the sound of loud jet engines broke their concentration. They all look up to the sky and saw something silver and shiny, like a comet, flying towards the base.
"Huh?!" One looks in disbelief. "What the heck is that?! A Siren?!"
"I-I'm not sure!" Another replies. "I've never seen anything like that before!"
...
Enterprise turns her head to Wales. She moves her mouth to say something, but the two also heard the faint sound of the engines incoming. They both look up to the sky and saw something fast approaching as the sun began to set.
"What-?" Wales looks confused upon seeing the object.
"-Is that-?" Enterprise mutters as she squints her eyes to try and see the object better. However, because the sun was setting behind the object, the two couldn't make out the anomaly.
But that didn't matter. That's because not even five seconds after spotting the anomaly, it crashes into the other side of the island, creating a massive explosion which sent dirt and smoke into the air while barley shaking the ground. The two ship girls didn't looked fazed by the ground shaking as they were more worried about the anomaly.
"What was that?!" Enterprise yells.
"I'm not sure! But we should investigate!" Wales responds.
Immediately, the two ran at full speed to try to catch up to whatever the anomaly was.
...
At the other end of the island, there was a crater near the edge of a cliff. Dust and smoke filled the air as the creature's silhouette was seen within the smoke. The creature appears to be eating the shark it took from the ocean, as if not even noticing its crash landing. It finishes, leaving nothing but a small amount of flesh and bones, as the dust began to settle. When it did, the creature could be seen better and resembled some king of dragon as it's wings rises on its back a little.
The dragon looks around its surroundings, as if making sure it was in the right place. It notices something behind its back, which the creature turns to see Azur Lane's base below. It walks towards the edge of the hill it was on and stares down below. When it saw the base on the other side of the island, the creature suddenly spread its wings as it roars into the sky, sending dust and smoke away.
The dragon lets out a short roar as it ends with an eagle's screech. When it was finished, the dragon lowers its head as its body was suddenly consumed in a bright light. The light was so bright it was practically blinding. However, under the light the creature's body could be seen beginning to change and morph into a more humanoid shape.
...
Enterprise, Wales, and a few others were running up the hill to the crash sight. Anyone who was nearby the crash site immediately ran towards it to investigate what crashed. They all had their weapons out and ready in case they had to fight.
Wales and Enterprise were leading the group. No one said anything as they all were trying to think what the anomaly could be. However, a certain ship girl ran ahead of the others and was next to Enterprise. This was none other than the light cruiser, Cleveland.
"Hey!" She yells, gaining the Grey Ghost's attention. "Do either of you know what that was?!"
Wales shook her head. "No! We both barley saw it before it crashed."
"Damn!" Cleveland mutters. "Lets just hope that whatever it is isn't a Siren!"
"Let's just focus on getting to the crash site!" Enterprise steps in with a stern and serious face. "We don't know what this could be! For all we know it could be-!"
The sound of the creature's roar in the distance made Enterprise silent as everyone stops running. They look up to the crash site and saw a bright light coming from the site.
"W-woah!" Cleveland yells as a nervous drop of sweat forms on her face. "That's new!"
"..." Enterprise scowls while growing. She tightens her hold on her bow before booking it to the site. Everyone broke out of their shock before following right behind her.
...
The bright light eventually dies down. When it did, a humanoid figure in strange silver armor was standing by the edge of the hill where the creature once was.
"..." The man stares at the base for a little longer. Eventually though, he looks up and saw the sun setting behind the sea floor, getting a good view of the sun reflecting off the water. "Heh." The man lets out a short chuckle, sounding a bit robotic under his helmet. "Its a nice view, don't you think so, Val?"
Suddenly, the armor began to glow. It was much shorter than before as the armor began to float off the man's body and recollect itself by his right shoulder. It morphs into a ball of light before shattering as a much smaller and younger version of the creature lands on the man's shoulder. It was almost the size of a full grown house cat as it dug its claws in the man's clothing.

The smaller creature lets out a quiet growl as it stares at the sunset. The man sighs as he was still staring at the sun.
"Yeah...you're right..." He mutters with a small grin.
Speaking of who, the man appeared to be a little pale. He wore a grey jacket with white fur around the collar and a red shirt underneath it. He wore a black belt over his navy blue pants with a pair of black leather boots. He had spiky and messy grey hair with red tips at the front. The back hair was longer as it went all the way down the back of his neck, tied in a small ponytail. A gentle breeze passes by as the man's hair was picked up from the wind. He had a small scar on the bottom of his lip and a few barley noticeable ones on the back of his hands. He had a wide grin, showing his canine fangs, on his face as he lets out a chuckle.
"So, this is where Azur Lane lives, huh?" He asks himself. "Rather nice and isolated location if you ask me."
The creature on his shoulder doesn't reply. It simply curls up and around him like a cat as it's tail wraps itself around his neck as it got comfortable and rests its eyes.
"It's alright, Val. You can rest. We did good today."
...
As the sun finally set, the girls finally arrived to the scene. They all stopped running when they were a few feet away from the crater. There, they all saw the man staring out to the distance, not noticing them yet.
"W-What-?!" Enterprise shouts, eyes widen upon seeing the man. She and the others didn't expect to find a human here at all.
"How can this be-?!" Wales exclaims.
Several of the other girls behind them began to mutter and whisper to each other as well. All of the commotion broke the man out of his thoughts as he turns around to the group, still grinning.
"Who are you?!" Enterprise demands as she drew and points her bow at him.
"..." The man doesn't respond. This made a nervous drop of sweat travel down Enterprise's face.
"You're Azur Lane, correct?" The man asks in an unidentifiable tone as he folds his arms on his chest.
"..." Enterprise and Wales looks intimidated by the question. They both stare cautiously into his eyes, which the left iris was dark blue and the right was red.
No one budges. Everyone stayed where they were as the wind gently blows by.
===To be continued==>
What do y'all think? Again, I'm still new to Azur Lane. So, if I messed something up, please say so so I can fix it. I'll try to update later this weekend again. But, we'll see. I hope you've enjoyed and have a wonderful day/night. Peace out.
