Katherine sits in The Mikaelson Abattoir, having heard the news from good friend Marcel Girard, that her mother was doing dirty work for Dahlia.

"Katherine, I am so sorry." Says Marcel, placing his hand on the girls shoulder. Katherine pulls away, tense.

"She was my mother. She always said the Mikaelsons were the best things that ever happened to our family." She looks up, her eyes filled with tears. "She betrayed us. She betrayed me." Marcel nods as the girl stands, running her hand through her hair. "I did everything for her! I followed Klaus Mikaelson blindly all for her! I broke your trust and Davinas for her! I almost lost my best friends! And she betrayed us by working with that-" Katherine let's out a troubled scream, using her magic to send a table across the room.

Marcel stands to his feet. "Katherine calm down." He says. Katherine cries as she shakes her head.

"She ruined everything! I was supposed to be happy! I loved her! I trusted her!" The young witch cries. "How am I supposed to live with the fact she made me help the most horrible bitch on this planet?" Her eyes are red and glossy as she looks up at Marcel. "How am I supposed to live with the guilt of knowing I could've gotten Hope killed? Or any of you?"

Marcel pets the girls hair as he sets her on the couch. "I'm going to get you something to drink, just sit here and breath, alright?"

Katherine nods, inhaling deeply as Marcel vamp speeds off. He pours her a drink of fruit punch. An aching feeling fills his gut. He had never seen Katherine act that way. She was usually so snarky and had a smile on her face, even in the worse situations. But this, this was different. Worried, Marcel slices his palm, a small amount of blood dripping into the glass.

He brings it out, giving it to the unsuspecting witch, hoping he was wrong.

Antionette cut the vegetables for her family dinner that night. Her husband of nearly 25 years, Lucas, was out at work. He was a traveling speaker for colleges, he had just came home from a college in Virginia a few days ago, and needed to file a report in his office.

Katherine stormed into the house. "Is it true? You're working with Dahlia?" Katherine asks.

Her mother pauses. "Who told you that?" She asks slowly.

"Is it true or not?"

Antionette turns to look at her daughter. The girl wore a purple dress her mother assumed was from Davina. Her eyes were puffy from crying, her mascara smeared. "What I did, was for our family-"

"Oh my god-" Katherine covers her mouth. Realization hit her like a truck. "You're a monster."

"Katherine-"

"I hate you!" Screams the daughter, running up the stairs. Antionette sighs in defeat. She turns back to the vegetables, deciding to give Katherine a few moments to process the situation.

However, Katherine was upstairs in the bathroom. She panted heavily as she thought everything over. She had betrayed the Mikaelsons. Betrayed her friends, people she considered family. She betrayed Kaleb, or Kol, rather, a man she had grown to love for a short time before Kol set his eyes on Davina. She felt dirty. Like her family's magic was the cause. Her mother's magic. Sobbing, she rips open the cabinets, grabbing her fathers replaceable blades for his razor. She also grabbed her fathers pills.

The girl felt nothing but pain, and in an act of panic, hurt, and anger she killed her self in the middle of her bathroom floor.

Little did she know, she wasn't going to die. At least, not truly.

Nearly an hour had passed before Marcels blood kickstarted Katherines body. She gasped as she sat up. Blood filled the tiled floor, her arms smeared with it as well. She looked around herself, confusion lacing her features. She struggles to stand as she looks in the mirror. She could hear the lightning bulb buzzing with electricity. The light was too bright, hurting the girls eyes. Frustrated, she grabs the light bulbs, smashing them into pieces. She gasps, pulling away from the shattered glass, now sitting in the dark. She glances at her glass covered palms, a piece of glass falling out, and the wound itself healing.

What happened to her?

It was a dumb question, really. She knew exactly what was going on, because of Josh. Katherine sucks in a heavy breath, opening the door and stepping into the hall.

Antionette Valentine prepares the table in the kitchen. "Katherine, dinner!" She calls. She sets a plate down for her daughter. Lucas would be home soon.

"Mama?"

The witch turns around, gasping at the sight before her. Her daughter was bloody and still had glass sticking out of her palms. Her eyes were darker than before, and Antionette saw veins darken underneath Katherines eyes for just a brief moment.

"What did you do?" Antionette asks, grabbing her daughter by the shoulders.

Katherine shakes her head. "Mama, I'm sorry." She cries. "I, I took some of Dads pills, and, and I hurt myself and, and," Katherine breathes heavily as she looks at her mom. "I think I'm dead." She whispers.

Antionette shakes her head. "No,no, not my baby. No!" She yells. She lets out loud sobs as she pulls away from her dead daughter. She stumbles into the kitchen, practically on her knees.

"Mama, I'm still me. I'm here, I'm okay." Katherine says reassuringly. "Marcel, and, and Josh can teach me to be better. I can still be me, Mama." Antionette says nothing as her back faces her daughter. "Mama?"

"You. Are not my daughter." The woman turns around, stake in hand. Katherine gasps, jumping out of her mothers path.

Katherine pleads. "Mama, don't do this!" She cries.

"You deserve nothing more!" Antionette yells, attempting to plunge the stake in her daughters chest. Katherine grabs her mother's wrist, bending it backwards. Antionette screams in pain as her hand is practically snapped off, blood running down her arm.

The young Valentine looks at her mothers arm. The crimson liquid flowing down her arm. The way it twinkled in the light. Katherine could hear her mothers racing heartbeat. She felt nothing but hunger. Veins darkened as she brought her mothers arm closer to her, her tongue salivating at the thought of the red liquid layering her throat. Antionette screams as her daughter takes a bite. She begins to mumble a spell, a spell so strong, nobody could break it.

Katherine groans in pain, stepping back from her mother. "You will live with the monster you've become. You will die, on my terms!" Screams Antionette. "You will live your 17 years again, but undead. And when your 17 years are up, you'll be nothing but dead weight." Katherine shouts as blood falls out of her ears, buzzing and ringing in her head. She falls to her knees as her mother continues a chant. Her heightened emotions mixed and swirled as she screams in pain. She looks up at her mother, letting out a final shout before lunging at the woman's throat.

Katherine Valentine, cursed as an unstoppable vampire.

⋆⋅☆⋅⋆

"And that's the tragic story of Katherine Valentine. The brilliant witch turned horrendous vampire." Antionette smirked upon at her daughter. "Cursed to die in, what, a few months?"

Katherine smirks. "You're going to tell me how to fix it. Or I'm going to feed you your dead husbands organs." She leans into her mothers face. "I can do that."

Antionette hums. "Fine. I'll tell you what I know, if you give me the knife." Katherine frowns, standing up straight.

"What do you want the knife for?" Says the girl.

Suddenly, it seems like the whole place shakes around them. "Looks like your friends dead girlfriend handled it just fine." The mother hums.

"Well, then you got what you wanted, right? Youll tell me how to stop the curse?"

Antionette laughs at her daughter. "Foolish child. I made it so there was no cure." Katherines face drops. "Not even a million sacrifices will save you, Katherine Tatia Augustine." Katherine charges at her mother, who suddenly disappears into nothingness. Katherine stumbles backwards, eyes wide at the words her mother said.

She was going to die.

"Don't you look like you had a bad day." Katherine looks up from her books, seeing Hope.

Katherine laughs. "My dead mom came to torture me, I think bad is a bit of an understatement."

Hope nods. "Sorry, about not being there. I was a bit busy jumpstarting the apocalypse." She jokes. Katherine chuckles, nodding. "How are you feeling?"

The Valentine sighs. "Honestly?" She looks over at the tribrid. The tribrid who was so clueless at what was wrong. The tribrid Katherine had saved. The one she's dying for right now. "I feel acceptance. If that's an emotion." She says finally. Hope nods, intrigued by the statement. "You?"

"Guilty." Hope mumbles. "I said some awful things to Dr. Saltzman today." She explains.

"Dont we all? That's why he loves us."

Hope shakes her head. "He's really mad at me."

Katherine purses her lips. "He's been through a lot these past few days. He honestly just needs a break." Hope nods in agreement as Katherine stands. "You heading to be cemetery?"

"I am." Says Hope.

Katherine nods. "I'm gonna go see Ric." She says before vamp speeding off.

Alaric sits in his desk, thinking about the days occurrences. "Need a drink?" He turns around to see Katherine with a bottle of bourbon. "Figured we both could."

The headmaster smiles as he takes a class from Katherine. She props herself on his desk, the two of them staring out into the courtyard. "I'm sorry, about your mom." The vampire shrugs, not wanting to talk about it again. "We'll find a way to stop what's happening, Kat. Even if I have to resurrect every Bennett and Mikaelson witch there is." He says.

She sighs, shaking her head. "Alaric, that night, when I decided to kill myself, I was supposed to die. It was, my destiny, I guess. The natural order. But I came back. I defied the laws of, well, life. And this is life's way of paying me back." She explains. "And if I want to find peace when I die, then I have to find peace when I'm alive. Starting with accepting the fact that I'll be dead by Miss Mystic Falls." Alaric stays silent, unsure what to say to the girl. She sips on her bourbon as Alaric pats her leg. Neither of them were sure what to say, because as far as they could tell, she was right.

⋆⋅☆⋅⋆

The mans eyes scream terror, but he never lets out a peep. His knees begin to wobble when the Valentine Vampire pulls away from his throat. "Forget this ever happened, go home." She compels. Obediently, the man disappears down the alley, leaving the girl to herself.

"You were always so much cleaner than me." Katherine looks up, seeing a familiar face.

"Damon." She tenses up, wiping blood off her lips. "What a pleasantly unpleasant surprise."

Damon sighs. "Kat, I want to talk,"

She sends a fake grin. "And I don't, goodbye!" She says, turning and beginning to walk away.

"Katherine, please just listen to me-"

"What do you want to say? Sorry I used you as my rebound until Elena came back? Sorry I played you like some stupid monopoly game? I'm Katherine Valentine, Damon, I don't get played." She says, storming towards him. "I trusted you! You let me fall for you and yet...you only cared about Elena.

Damon shakes his head. "And you fell in love with Matt-"

Katherine shakes her head. "It took months of me trying to get him not to be afraid of me before he could even look at me! He still hates me for all the people I killed!" She yells. "You get to be human with Elena. Your epic love. While I get to sit here and die because of something I never wanted!" She screams.

Damon steps closer. "What's going on, Katherine?" He asks softly. He hadn't seen the girl this way since Kai Parker killed Jo. "What did you do?" He asks her.

Katherine scoffs. "Trust me, Damon. You'll know if I do something drastic." She looks up at him, the former vampire she had feelings for years ago standing before her. "Kiss me."

Damon frowns. "Katherine, no-"

"I'm dying, Damon. Kiss me, or kill me. We both know you're only capable of one." She says, smirking up at him. Damon's heart aches for the girl. She deserves better than what he did to her. He betrayed her and left her in the dust. No wonder she liked Katherine Pierce more than Elena. So, Damon kisses her. Not in a romantic way, no. It was more of an apology. It was soft, and sad. Guilt filled and regretful. Of course, there was the lingering thought of how Elena would feel when Damon told her what happened tonight, but Damon just wanted Katherine to know, he still cared.

He pulls away, his blue eyes focusing on the vampire. "Please, Katherine, for both of our sakes, let's just be friends again?"

Katherine looks up at him. She had cried over the Salvatore for months. She had truly cared about him. Of course, her mind was screaming no, don't let your pride be tainted by some shallow human. But she knew, in order to find peace in the coming months, she had to find peace with the people she hated the most. Starting with Damon Salvatore.

"Okay," She says finally. "We can be...friends." Damon chuckles, hugging the girl tightly. "But I'm still going to kick your ass."

Damon sighs, hugging his old friend tightly. "I wouldn't expect anything less."
