6. Make Over

"How long has he been in there?" asked Adelaide as she plopped down on the right side of Kora; Eve already seated on Kora's left on the fluffy queen sized bed.

The three of them were staring at the bathroom door that Taehyung had disappeared behind as soon as they entered the hotel room. They had been in the room for at least five minutes, and there hadn't been any sort of motion behind it the whole time. Kora sighed as she pushed herself off the mattress and walked over to the bathroom door, rapping her knuckle on it.

"What's going on in there?"

What was going on was that Taehyung was staring at his reflection in the mirror. He kept looking at what the girls had put on him to help get him away from the police and couldn't be more mortified if he tried. He wondered what the other guys would think if they were here right then, and those thoughts spiraled him into a slight panic again at not knowing where they were or what was going on.

"Is there no other way I can blend in then to dress this way?"

Kora smirked a bit before sighing.

"I have an idea," she said. "Stay there."

Kora walked back over to where she had left her purse on the bed by Adelaide and Eve.

"I'll be back," she said. "Stay here with him in the meantime."

The two of them watched Kora slip out of the room. She left the hotel, walking towards a shop nearby. She found a tacky white tourist t-shirt and some tan knee length shorts. While there she also picked up some white sneakers, underwear, and socks. She had no idea what size he was, so she was making educated guesses. Right before she was about to check out, she noticed a hair styling kit complete with scissors and a comb, adding that to her purchases last second.

When Kora arrived back in the hotel room about fifteen minutes later, she moved to knock at the bathroom door again that was still shut.

"What?"

"It's me again," said Kora. "Are you still decent?"

"If you mean am I still wearing this dress, then yes. For whatever reason, I'm having a hard time taking it off. Think it is stuck on my sheath."

"Let me in," said Kora with a small chuckle.

There was a click from the lock as it turned; Kora moving to slip inside with her purchases. Taehyung looked the same as he did when they had walked to the hotel except for the fact that the lipstick was stained across his entire face. Kora shut the door behind her, taking off her purse and putting it on the counter by sink along with her bag of purchases. She grabbed up a tissue, wetting it with some water before coming at his lips with it. She gently brought the tissue across it as she wiped it off.

"I have a better disguise in mind for you. Do you trust me?" asked Kora.

"Do I have a choice?"

"Not really," she said as she looked at him. "Just like I didn't have a choice earlier with you protecting me. Now it's my turn."

"Fine."

"Just don't turn me into a lizard if you don't like it."

Taehyung smirked then as Kora brought the tissue away from his mouth, throwing it away. She went around to the back of him, trying to help him get the dress off the top of his garb.

"You'll still have to change out of this," said Kora as she nodded at the outfit he had appeared in, "And the weapon..."

She trailed off as she watched him detach his sheath, setting his weapon so that it leaned up against the sink. He looked over at Kora, noticing that she was staring at it.

"Don't worry. I'm here to protect you. Not hurt you."

Kora just nodded, snapping herself out of her thoughts. She then moved to begin digging things out of the bag, laying them out for him to see.

"These are..."

"Better," she supplied for him as she watched him pinch at the garments and hold them up like they were a piece of evidence.

"I suppose," he said.

"I need you to take a shower," she said as she unveiled the hair kit last, "Because you're going to need a hair cut and I need your hair wet for that."

Taehyung didn't say anything for a moment as he watched Kora turn the sink on to wash her hands.

"Can't I wash my hair in there?" he asked.

She felt her cheeks get redder with each passing second as she shook her head.

"Your hair is too long to get it properly washed in the sink," she said as she shut it off, drying her hands.

"Fine," said Taehyung as he moved over to the shower, looking at it like it was some sort of alien creature.

"Please tell me you've taken a shower before."

"In the lake," said Taehyung, "Not in this...white coffin."

"You're ridiculous," said Kora with a sigh as she walked to stand beside him. She bent down, turning the knobs until water shot out of the spout from above. She pointed out to him the red dial that meant warm water and the blue that meant cold.

"This is all so different than what I'm used to," said Taehyung as Kora moved to grab the clothes, leaving them within reach for when he stepped out of the shower.

"I'll wait outside the bathroom for you. When you're done, let me know."

"You're not staying?"

Kora couldn't tell if Taehyung was teasing her or not, shaking her head as she moved to walk towards the bathroom door. As she slipped out into the other room, she saw that Adelaide and Eve were still seated on the edge of the bed where she had left them.

"What were you two in there talking about?" asked Eve, immediately wanting all the gossip.

"Nothing," said Kora back. "I am just helping him to blend in so he doesn't have to dress as a female to do so."

"Oh! We're giving dragon slayer a makeover?" asked Adelaide in interest. "Can we help?"

"No, but thank you," said Kora. "As it is, I appreciate you both for helping me get him away safely. He's already been arrested once today."

"Seriously? That has to be some sort of record. He hasn't even been here that long," said Adelaide.

"I didn't know it was a crime to be handsome," added Eve with a small tsk; Kora's cheeks flaming up again as she remembered wiping the lipstick off Taehyung's lips just a few minutes ago. She chided herself for thinking about them.

"Knock it off, foolish," said Kora as she fought away her blush. "He got arrested because his weapon set off the metal detectors at the hotel and he refused to take it off."

"Take it off, huh?" said Eve raising her eyebrows up and down. Adelaide chuckled as Kora reached to grab up one of the pillows off the bed, smacking Eve in the arm with it.

"Behave! I thought you had a date with muscle speck man. You need to tell me about him."

Before Eve could, all their eyes turned back to the bathroom door as it cracked open a bit. Taehyung's sopping wet head poked out.

"Kora. I need you."

"You've been summoned," said Eve with a low whistle, causing Kora to launch the pillow still in her possession at Eve's head as she got up to walk towards the bathroom door; Eve chuckling as she caught it.

Kora walked towards the bathroom door, slipping inside as Taehyung opened it wider for her. She saw that he had a white towel wrapped about his waist; his chest completely bare.

"Why aren't you wearing the clothes I laid out for you?" Kora asked, immediately averting her eyes from his well toned abs to look for the clothes she had left by the shower.

"I couldn't figure out how to get them on," admitted Taehyung as she came back over with them.

'At least he figured out how to turn off the shower,' Kora thought as she grabbed the clothes and came back over to him.

"Stick your arms up in the air," said Kora, "I'll slip this shirt on for you."

It didn't help that this man was a good five inches taller than her. She rocked up onto her toes to slip the shirt over his head; Taehyung having to bend slightly to get his arms in it. She soon rolled the material of the white shirt over his chest to hide it away; causing her heart to slow in its beating. She held up the underwear and shorts next, instructing him on how to stick his legs through the holes.

"This goes on first," she said as she waved the underwear.

Kora was barely able to turn around before he dropped the towel; flushing all over again as he slipped on the underwear first followed by the shorts before telling Kora he was decent again. Now all Kora had to deal with was his dripping wet Rapunzel length hair that was causing small rivulets to form on the tile floor beneath their feet. She moved to direct him to stand in front of the mirror above the sink, grabbing up a comb.

"You're okay with me cutting this then?" she asked one last time.

"I mean...I suppose. If it's what I have to do to stay safe-OW! What the heck are you doing?!"

Taehyung immediately shot a hand backwards, swatting away Kora's hand and the comb.

"You had a knot in your hair," said Kora. "I was trying to be gentle about undoing it. Stop being a wimp."

Taehyung shot her a glare in the mirror, but fell silent after as he let her work. She tried to work through his hair as carefully as she could before she began to section it off. She took some bobby pins out that she had bought, pinning certain sections of his hair out of the way.

"Do you know what you're doing?" asked Taehyung.

"Yes. I've seen my Mom do it before," said Kora. "You need to stop second guessing me."

"Easy enough for you to say. It's not your hair."

Kora rolled her eyes, holding the comb between her teeth for a moment as she began to cut away at his hair. It fell to the floor at their feet like odd snow flakes; gathering into small piles the more that Kora worked. Taehyung shut his eyes as Kora worked so he wouldn't get any hair in them. She took about twenty minutes to cut his hair. When she was done, Kora put the scissors down, combing through his hair one last time before finding herself teasing fingers through it. She couldn't help it.

"Okay. You can open your eyes. See what you think."

Taehyung did as she said, opening his eyes and looking at his reflection in the mirror. He didn't say anything for a moment before he eventually turned to look at Kora.

"It's different. Not bad though. Thank you."

"You're welcome," said Kora with a soft smile. "See? This is the magic I work."

"My magic is cooler though," teased Taehyung.

Kora rolled her eyes, bending to begin cleaning up the mess on the floor. Taehyung moved to help her; the two of them putting a majority of his cut hair into the trash bin under the sink. Kora moved to put things back in the bag after, grabbing up her purse as she made her way towards the door. Taehyung grabbed up his weapon with its sheath and his old clothing, including the dress before following after her. As they both stepped out of the bathroom, Adelaide and Eve turned to look at them.

"How is that fair that he went in dressed as a woman and came out ten times hotter than before?" asked Eve as Kora moved towards her luggage to begin tucking things away.

"Eve, behave yourself. You already have a man," chided Adelaide.

Taehyung was chuckling as he followed after Kora. Kora unzipped her luggage, slipping the bag inside. She took Taehyung's old clothes and dress too, shoving them inside. Taehyung laid his sheathed weapon next to her luggage while Kora slipped her purse about her that contained his pan flute.

"What do we do now?" asked Adelaide as the four of them stood about the hotel room.

"I need to find out more about my six fellow guardians that have seemed to have gone missing," said Taehyung. "I need to know why I was given away; why I'm not guarding who I was originally assigned to."

"And how do we go about finding that out exactly?" asked Kora as she looked at Taehyung.

"Do you know the name of the person you were supposed to guard?" asked Adelaide.

"I know their surname, yes," said Taehyung.

"Then I say it's time we asked trusty Google again," said Adelaide. "We walked past a small cyber cafe downstairs on the way up."

Deeming that a good plan, the four of them walked out of the hotel room to the cyber cafe in the hopes that they would find the answers they would need.
