Your voice pierces the air
As my tears glisten in morning light.
My chest constricts
As a flying plate passes by my eye.

I stare lifelessly at your bleeding hand,
Your brown hair tousled into a mess.
The storm that rages in your black eyes;
My eyes fight back with the silent pain.

You view the world in gray.
You glasses limit the distance your eyes see
Even the distance you put between us
Unknowingly.

I hold back a smile,
Vulnerable,
If you believe this still affects me
And I sympathise.

I hold your hand in mines,
Wiping your angry tears and I smile.
I forgive
But I don't forget.
