Relaxation?

A/N- This chapter doesn't have a huge purpose, except for the end. But here's another update, it's slightly longer than the previous chapter. So.... enjoy.

Magnus POV

The day with Alex was amazing. I'd never felt more appreciated and wanted. It seemed that she actually did want to be my friend, which was a new feeling.

The way she talked about her pottery and art projects, it made my heart flutter. I admired how passionate she was about what she loved. And I wanted to know more about her and where she came from. It was a bit odd for someone like her to move to a place like this. But I tried not to question her too much.

She got even more guarded when I brought up her family. It seemed that her father wasn't a very nice person, and talking about her mom made it even worse. I honestly didn't see a problem with her being genderfluid. It was who she was, and no one could change that. Maybe I should tell her dad that.

When I got back from the park, Blitz was waiting for me. He had a smug look on his face and I waved at him, a smile forming on my lips. He held up a small piece of paper, and I realized it was the note that Alex had given me.

My face immediately turned red, and I scratched the back of my neck. Blitz smirked at me suggestively and I rolled my eyes.

"How was your date?" he asked me, and I scoffed.

"It was not a date!" I said, annoyed. I rushed to my room and plopped down on my bed. I groaned and stared up at my ceiling. Was it a date? I mean, I didn't think it was. But did Alex think of it as a date? She said that it wasn't, but did she mean it to be? Did she like me? Did I like her?

I squeezed my eyes shut, and sat up on my bed. No. I didn't like her. Because that would be ridiculous! I just met her! I mean, sure she was attractive and cute as heck, but I didn't like her. Right?

My thoughts were interrupted as Hearth walked in my room. I waved at him, and he gave me a small smile.

You okay?, he signed, and I took a deep breath in. Was I okay?

Not really, I replied, and he frowned at me. The next thing I knew, he was holding me in his arms and patting my back. I welcomed his hug and breathed in his candy cane scent. Although he wasn't my biological dad, he was a parent figure to me.

I pulled away from the hug, and wiped the tears that had formed. Recently, things had just been so crazy, I had no time to just breathe. With my mom, Alex, and moving in with Blitz and Hearth, I needed some time to relax.

Better?, Hearth signed, and I nodded. He smiled, and gave me a small kiss on my forehead. I smiled as he walked away, closing my bedroom door behind him.

I snuggled underneath my bed covers, not caring that I still had clothes on. I knew it wasn't exactly night time, but I decided to go to bed anyways.

My dreams were filled with the constant replay of my mother laying in the hospital bed, her beautiful face pale white. The sound of a flat heart monitor filled my ears, and I bolted awake. Sweat poured down my face and my breathing became rapid. I laid back down, trying to calm myself.

Eventually, I got up from my bed, and walked in to my kitchen. I looked at the clock, it was midnight. My stomach rumbled since I didn't eat dinner the previous day. I grabbed a banana and peeled it back. As I munched on my snack, I decided that I wanted some fresh air.

I left the apartment, trying to make as little noise as possible, since I didn't want to awaken Blitz. I zipped up the jacket I had gotten on my way out, and I shivered from the cold that hung in the night air.

I sat on a nearby bench, and gazed up at the sky. The moon shone brightly, and stars spotted the blackness like freckles. Other than the faint sound of cars in the distance, the night was perfectly quiet. Silence surrounded me, and I felt a sense of calm envelop me. This was exactly what I needed. To just look around me and love the place I was in.

I was outside for a little over an hour. Eventually, I started to get cold, so I made my way back to my apartment building.

Just as I approached the door, a flash of movement caught my eye. I turned around, but saw nothing out of the sort. I almost continued to walk away, but I saw it again. And again! A fluttering green creature was flying in the sky, and I stared up at it. I hadn't seen a bird like that before. Although, it looked slightly larger than a bird, almost human-like.

The creature suddenly stopped in mid-air and I could feel it's eyes upon me. I couldn't make out it's face, but I could see that it had a bit of pink on it as well.

The next thing I knew, it flew down to me, and as it got closer I started to recognize it. Or rather, her. She landed in front of me, and I almost passed out form what I was seeing. She was wearing a pink shirt and dark green pants. But she wasn't wearing a sweater this time. Her short curly green hair fell across her face, and I couldn't breathe.

"Don't scream," Alex told me, and my mouth was open in shock. Suddenly, I felt a sharp pain in my back of my head, and I fell to the ground. Slowly, I could feel my consciousness slip away from me. Then all I saw was darkness.

A/N- Haha, things are starting to get interesting! Don't worry, Alex didn't cut off his head again... or did she? Well, I hoped you liked it! Feel free to leave a comment if you like it, or I always appreciate constructive criticism!
