THREE

The setting wasn't familiar. It was far from her usual city scape view. It was calming in a way, the greenery and complexity of the forest. It almost worked like a city. Everything had a job to do, and if it wasn't done, everything would collapse and not function as it should.

"Hello little lost girl." An eerie voice broke Eve's train of thought. She turned her head and her mouth dropped in shock.

"Felix."

"Didn't expect to see me again did you Evie?" He drawled. He took 3 steps closer to her, his club swinging as he did. Felix had always enjoyed intimidating her. He liked being in control and treating her like a child, hence the reason he called her Evie. He wanted to make her feel small, like a helpless child.

"Where are we?" She whispered, afraid of the answer. Felix laughed and rolled his eyes.

"We're not in Neverland if that's what your worried about. At least not yet."

"What does that mean?" She snarled.

"You know what I mean Eve. You will come for the boy, no matter how much you don't want to, you will. It's who you are, what you do. You try to save people Eve, we both know that." He chuckled at the irony of it all. She had come to Neverland long ago thinking that she could save Peter Pan, yet she had left with nothing more than a broken heart.

"I was wrong. He's a demon. He cannot be loved."

"Then why did you come here in the first place? If he was such a demon?"

"You know I had no choice!"

"If you really didn't want to come it wouldn't have worked. So why did you?"

"I had to Felix! I had no choice, if I did I would never have gone!"

"Your scared Lilly, scared to admit the truth. Scared of yourself." He roars at her. She backs up until she hits a tree.

"Say it!" He screams.

"There's nothing to say!"

He stalks closer to her.

"Your lying! Your scared to admit the truth!"

"And what is the truth!?"

"That you loved him, despite all the things he did to you in your dreams. That despite how much you hated him there is a part of you that loved him and still does!"

"No! No I don't love him! I don't!  I don't! I DON'T!!!!!!" She screamed and pushed him away. He falters back but quickly regains his footing. Felix takes the club off his shoulder and swings at Eve. She ducks and misses it narrowly.

"Stop. Please."

"Do you remember Evie? All the games he used to play with you? How you'd run and think he wouldn't catch you?"

"Please stop." She whispered.

"You know the best game he played with you was when-"

"Enough! Wake up! Wake up!"  Eve screamed at herself. Felix walked over to her and knelt down.

"Aww poor little lost girl." He pouted.

"Wake up Eve. Come on wake up. Come on Eve." She whispered over and over again. Felix smirked and stood up. He lifted his club in the air and Eve prepared for the blow. He smiled before bringing it down. The last thing she felt was cool wood touching her face.

Eve woke with a start, quickly sitting upright. She looked around, taking in her surroundings. She was in her bed and there was a note on her bedside table. Finn. She ran her hands through her hair and tried to steady her breathing. What Felix had said had really shaken her. They couldn't know. No one could know.

The next few hours passed by slowly. Eve watched as seconds turned to minutes, and minutes turned to hours. She knew what she had to do. She had to go with them to Neverland and save Henry. As the hours continued to tick by the sun soon streamed into her apartment. With a shaky breath she got out of her bed and made her way to the kitchen, finding a note on the table.

"Eve, you need to take care of yourself. So I've ordered you breakfast, it will be delivered to you at 9am. I'll stop by and visit you later.
XOXO Finn"

A smiled tugged at the corner of her lips, she didn't know what she would do without Finn. There was a sudden knock at the door and Eve sprinted to open it, expecting it to be her food. However she wasn't greeted by a delivery man holding a bag of food, it was Killian. Her eyes hardened slightly and she swallowed the lump that had risen in her throat.

"Can I come in? I brought breakfast?" Killian said and flashed her his signature smile, knowing she couldn't resist. "It better be pancakes." She said cheekily, having worked out that this was the breakfast Finn had 'ordered'. Killian and Eve sat at the kitchen table and opened a box stacked high with pancakes.

"Eve, about yesterday I-"

"It's fine." She interjected while picking at a pancake.

"No it's not. I knew you wouldn't be ok with it, and I should have told them not to say anything."

"Really it's fine." She mumbled as she continued to eat. "It just was a bit of a shock." She whispered and put down the fork.

"Killian I'm going with you." Her voice was barely a whisper.

"Eve, you don't have to-"

"Yes I do." Her words were firmer this time. "I can't leave him, not there." Killian reached out his hand and set it on top of Eve's.

"I was going to say you don't have to act so brave all the time, not around me." He whispered and Eve smiled at him. "I know."

"Then tell me." He retracted his hand. "How are you feeling?"

"Terrified." She answered quickly. "Killian I never thought I would have to go back there. And now I just..." Her voice died out. "What if he takes me?"

"I won't let him." Killian said firmly and stood to his feet. "Eve I rescued you from that island. I saw what that demon did to you. I will NEVER let him do that to you again."

Eve smiled gently and stood up and Killian embraced her in a hug. "Thank you." Secretly she wished she could stay like this forever, not having to leave the safety of her home. Yet she knew, she had to do this, she had to return.

Tomorrow they would leave on their journey. Tomorrow she would venture back to hell. Tomorrow she would walk right back into the cluches of the devil himself. PETER PAN.
