FOUR

Eve couldn't sleep that night, no matter how hard she tried. Her body just wouldn't allow it. But then some might say that's understandable.

When you know your going to come up against your fear; weather it be a spider, or a snake or even heights, something in your body is triggered. Like a switch flips and your body tries everything possible to get you to change your mind.

Your brain manages to think up every bad thing possible to convince you not to do it. Your body even physically tries to stop you from doing it, and usually it works. But Eve knew, no matter how much she didn't want to do this, she had to.

She had to save Henry. She had to help them, despite how much her body was telling her not to, despite how scared she was. Who knew what Pan wanted him for? Whatever it was, it couldn't be good.

With a sigh she rolled out of bed and walked over to her window seat, and slumped down on it. She tried to keep her eyes only on the ground below, but being the curious person she was, it didn't last long. Eve's gaze drifted up to that star, the one where all the pain began, the star that started it all, the one where she lost everything.

Peter Pan was a demon, there's no questioning it. He's a lying, manipulative, cruel and horrendous boy. Someone who prays on the weak and vulnerable, on the innocent and pure.

A tear slid down her face as she remembered everything that she'd lost, and all the pain she'd experienced. She stared up at the sky, and thought again about backing out of this, of not going back. It sounded like a good idea, not going back to the place that she feared the most. But her conscience was persistent, it ached when she had these thoughts, when she thought of leaving Henry.

Eve had tossed and turned throughout the night, wrestling with the thought of backing out, in the end, her conscience won. She couldn't do it, she couldn't abandon him.

She couldn't bare to see the look on his face when they brought him back if she hadn't gone. The pure disappointment and sadness his face would hold, would break what's left of her already broken heart.

"Hey you ok?" The sweet voice of Mary Margaret cooed.

No not really. I'm freaking out and want to go home.

Of course she didn't say this. Instead she said.

"Yeah totally." Mary Margret looked Eve, with those big brown eyes and that gentle face.

"Really?"

"No."

"Do you want to talk about it?"

Eve couldn't even make out any words, she just slumped to the floor. At first neither one of them said anything.

"So?" Mary Margret  broke the silence.

"I'm scared."

"Oh honey what did he do to you?" She says and pulls Eve into a hug.

"We're here." Rumple yelled across the ship. Eve turned her head and saw it, that island. She began to take deep breaths to try to calm herself down.

"Not long now lost girl." A voice rung in Eve's mind. She froze in shock. That voice, she hadn't heard it in years, the voice she had tried so hard to forget.

"N-no." Eve whisper quietly.

"Aww what's the matter darling?."

"No! No!" Eve screamed and pull away from Mary Margaret.

"Eve?" Killian asks.

"Play with me Eve."

"No! Get out of my head!" Eve screamed and collapsed to the ground.

"No! Get out! Get out!"

"Eve look at me." Rumple says pulls her head up and meet his gaze.

He places his hands on her head.

"Go away Pan." He seethes.

"Fine."

Then the voices stop. Her eyesight begins to blur at the edges. Her eyes begin to shut and her head hits the floor.

"Eve? Eve?" Their voices melt into the distance as she slips into unconsciousness.
