Chapter 11

It was a 20 minute ride to the hotel which meant it was 20 minutes of sitting in the car with wet clothes. By the time they arrived at the hotel, Katia's teeth were chattering. Mal went to get the hotel key and told us the boys were waiting for us there.

"Looks like we're back in the same room." Andrew said.

"I got you two beds this time." Mal said having overheard Andrew. "Sorry about before."

"Oh...no problem." Katia replied and then smiled at Andrew.

"Your bags should be here shortly..." Neil said walking up to them.

"We'll be here to pick you up tomorrow morning."

"Are you not coming up?" Katia asked.

"We have to get out of these wet clothes...I'd recommend you do the same."

"Will do." Andrew replied as Neil and Mal headed back out.

Andrew and Katia walked up to their room and found the boys sprawled on the two beds, watching television.

"What happened to you?" John asked as he sat up at looked at them.

"The reason we look like drowned rats is because you guys left with all the umbrellas..."

All four looked at each other.

"Oops..." George finally said.

"Sorry guys...we had no idea." Ringo replied.

"You should get out of those wet clothes." John winked at Kat.

Katia rolled her eyes at him. "We're just waiting for our bags to show up...they stayed on the plane. Neil said someone should be bringing them soon."

They all talked for about ten minutes before there was a knock on the door with their luggage.

"We'll let you guys get settled in." Paul said as he started heading out with the others following.

"Yeah...we'll be here to pick you up tomorrow....I told Maureen that I wanted her to meet you two. So she wanted to have you over for lunch." Ringo smiled.

"I'd love that." Katia replied before saying goodbye to all of them.

As soon as they were gone, Katia jumped into the shower. Despite wanting to take a long hot shower, she knew Andrew was waiting too, so she quickly showered and changed into her pajamas.

"Your turn." she said as came out drying her hair with the towel.

"Great." Andrew said as he headed to the bathroom.

Katia was planning to blow dry her hair after Andrew got out of the shower, but as she waited, she fell asleep. She faintly heard Andrew come out of the shower and he coached her to get under the covers.
***
"Kat...Paul just called. They're coming in a half hour." Andrew said to Katia trying to wake her up.

"Andrew...I don't feel very well." she mumbled.

Andrew leaned over and put his hand on her forehead. "Shit... I think you may have a fever, Kat."

Katia managed to open her eyes. "I feel like shit is what I feel like right now."

"Let me call Neil and let him know. Where's the phone number he gave you?"

"It's in my purse." Katia replied.

Katia closed her eyes until she heard Andrew trying to wake her up again.

"Kat...there's a nurse here to see you. Her name is Carol."

Katia opened her eyes to see a nurse standing next to her bed.

"Hi." she smiled sweetly. "I need to take your temperature." she said holding up a thermometer.

Katia opened her mouth as the nurse stuck the thermometer under her tongue. After a couple of minute or so, she took it back out.

"Oh dear 39.1 degrees."

"No wonder I feel awful." Katia said as she closed her eyes once again.

"Katia...you need to take this medicine before you go back to sleep." Nurse Carol said.

Andrew helped her into a sitting position and gave her a glass of water. Katia took the pills and then laid back down. She turned to her side and dozed off. She woke up to the television playing softly in the room. She shifted in the bed, expecting to see Andrew, but instead she saw Paul sitting on the edge of the bed.

"Paul? What are you doing here?" she asked. "Where's Andrew?"

"Kat...how are you feeling?"

"Better." She said as she sat up in the bed. Paul placed the back of his hand against her forehead. "Looks like the fever's gone down. You should still take the medicine the nurse left for you. I'll go get you some water."

Katia looked at the clock and it read 4:38pm.

"You've been here all day?" Katia asked as Paul handed her the pills and the glass of water.

"Yeah...Andrew wanted to stay, but I convinced him to go with everyone...he's on vacation after all...he should see the city."

"Thanks for staying with me. I'm sorry you missed the day and got stuck in this hotel room taking care of me."

"Don't be. There's no one else I'd rather spend the day with."

"What about Jane?" Katia blurted out.

Paul looked irritated at the question. Katia didn't mean to cause problems between them. After all, Paul had been sweet to stay and take care of her, but before she had thought about it, the question had left her lips.

"Don't you see that I care for you, Kat? Haven't you noticed it? When I saw you again all the emotions...all the memories that we shared, they all came back. They're hard to forget. You don't think about them? You don't think about us?" he asked.

"I do think about the time we spent together. Having met you guys in Liverpool and what we experienced are some of the best memories I have. Our relationship was something so special to me...but it was years ago. You've changed...had so many experiences without me...you became a Beatle for crying out loud! It's not the same, Paul!" Paul seemed frustrated as he got off the bed and ran his fingers through his hair.

"I can't believe you just said that. Do you see me as Beatle Paul like everyone else? Is that what it is? You of all people know me, Kat! You know the difference between Beatle Paul and me...just Paul."

"I know who Paul is...but I know the Paul I left years ago in Liverpool. I don't see you as Beatle Paul...but...I wasn't there to see you grow into the Paul you've become...regardless of the Beatles. You've lived so many things...had so many different experiences without me...of course I don't think you are the same Paul I left behind in Liverpool. You can't go back to that after all you and I have been through...it doesn't work that way."

"But I look at you and it's like you never left...you're still the same girl I fell in love with years ago."

"I've changed too, Paul."

"Have you? I don't think you have. I see you and everything I ever felt for you comes back. Those feeling are real. I can't push them away, Kat."

"So that is why you push Jane away?"

"Kat, I don't have to push Jane away...she does that on her own." He said softly

"But you sent her home...you told me at the Bahamas that you told her to lea--"Katia stopped mid sentence as soon as she saw the door opening.

Andrew and the other Beatles came walking in.

"Looks like all you needed was a little tender, love and care from Paul." John said when he saw Katia."You look a lot better. How you feeling?"

"I do feel better, thanks."

"Getting caught in the rain must have done you in." George said.

"Plus the fact that she was hung over." Andrew added.

"Hey!" Katia pretended to take offense to that comment and everyone in the room laughed.

"Did you guys have a good time?" she asked.

"It was a blast..." Andrew said and proceeded to tell Katia about their day. "Julian was also there..."

"The little bugger." Paul laughed.

"Well if he's anything like his dad, I'm sure he was a handful." Katia smiled.

"Both Maureen and Cynthia hope you feel better...they were hoping to take you out for lunch tomorrow. We'll be in the studio tomorrow until the early evening..." Ringo said.

"Patty will also be there." George said.

"And since it'll be all you girls, we've asked Andrew if he'd like to come to the studio with us." John said.

"That should be a lot of fun." Katia said looking at Andrew.

"I'm excited!" Andrew replied.

"I'm looking forward to hearing you play...George says you can do some amazing things on the guitar." John remarked.

Andrew smiled and Katia could tell he was starting to blush. He never was good at getting compliments and she knew that coming from the boys, it meant a lot more.

"Well I'm feeling much better...but I am a little hungry." she said trying to take the focus off Andrew.

"Well you haven't eaten all day. Let's order some food...anyone else hungry?" Paul asked.

While they waited for the food to come, Katia was informed of some wonderful news.

"I can't believe you didn't tell me until now!" Katia said excited. "Congratulations Ringo!"

"We were planning on telling you today...but that plan fell through."

"Well that's wonderful news...I'm so happy for you both...and I can't wait to meet your new wife tomorrow."

"We tried to keep it private; we're actually rather surprised the media hasn't gotten a hold of the story yet."

There was a knock on the door.

"Must be the food..." Andrew said as he opened the door.

***

Katia and Andrew had gone back to the States to get their situation in order. They had resigned from their jobs and as promised, Brian had taken care of all of their paperwork and work visas in a matter of weeks. The process had been quick and painless; Brian had arranged a storage unit for their stuff while they worked in London. Their lease for their apartment would be over in three months and Brian was even nice enough to say he'd pick up the rest of the payments. It was absolutely incredible to see how everything fell into place, but Katia knew that Brian and the Beatles had a lot of influence and connections and had it not been for them, none of this would have been possible.Paul and Katia had spoken on the phone a couple of times. They were currently filming in Austria and Andrew and Katia would be arriving to join them in a few hours. They would be staying at a ski resort so most of what they had packed was heavy and bulky for the cold weather.

"Are you excited to be seeing Paul again?" Andrew asked.

"Yes...and nervous at the same time. After what he said in the hotel in London, I'm still a little confused."

"From what you told me, I would have thought you'd be thrilled."

"It's not so black and white, Andrew. If you had heard him say he didn't have to push Jane away, that she did that on her own...it was filled with hurt and sadness...I just can't shake this feeling..."

"What feeling?"

"I don't know exactly...I just have this feeling that Jane isn't out of the picture."

As had been the case before, Mal was waiting for them at the airport to take them to the hotel. When they arrived at the resort, Katia was stunned at the view. She had never been amidst so much snow; everything was white. Paul hadn't been joking when he told her it was very cold. Austria was such a contrast from the Bahamas.

"The boys are out filming, but they should be back by noon." Mal informed them. "Let's check you two in and maybe later you'd like to take a look around or maybe sign up for some ski lessons?" he continued.

"I've never been skiing before, but this looks like the best place to start." Katia smiled. "It's so beautiful."

"Great...well let's get you settled in first and we'll go from there." He smiled.

Mal asked if they wanted to get some food, but even though they were both a little hungry, they wanted to wait to have lunch with the boys.

"If you guys need anything, just call the reception desk and they'll be able to get a hold of me. There's a few shops around here if you'd like to take a look after you finish unpacking."

"Mal, do you know when we'll get a chance to talk to Brian to ask about the details of our work?" Katia inquired.

"Brian should be down here in a couple of days and you can discuss that with him then. I suggest you enjoy your free time before he gets here and just have fun."

"Thanks" Andrew replied as Mal headed out the door.

"Can you believe this?" Katia asked Andrew as she flopped on the bed. "Look at all of this..."

"I never thought I'd be staying in such luxurious hotels..."

"Just one of the perks of working for the Beatles." Katia laughed as she got up. "I guess we should unpack."

"Not to mention having front row seats to their creative process." Andrew added.

About a half hour later, Katia heard a knock on the door. It was only 10:30 in the morning. Could the boys have finished early from filming? Katia walked to the door and opened it, expecting to see the Beatles, but instead saw Cynthia and Maureen standing on the other side of the door. "Cynthia! Maureen!! You're here!"

"Surprise!" They both chimed.

"I didn't know you girls were going to be here on location...this is wonderful! I'm so excited! Come in!" she said moving out of the way. Andrew got up and greeted both of them.

"John told me you were getting here today...they'll be done by noon, but would you guys want to go get some tea or coffee while we wait for them to finish?" Cynthia asked.

"Why don't you ladies get that coffee...I'm sure you have a lot to talk about."

"You sure?" Katia asked Andrew.

"Go ahead...I'm sure I'll find something to keep me entertained." he smiled.

Maureen, Cynthia and Katia went down to the hotel restaurant and ordered some tea and pastries.

"So last time we were supposed to see each other, you and Paul never showed up. I know you were sick, but did anything happen between you two?" Cynthia asked.

Maureen and Cynthia smiled as Katia told them about the conversation she had with Paul that day.

"So he admitted he still has feelings for you...I knew he did. You two had something so sweet while you lived in Liverpool." Cynthia remarked.

Katia half smiled.

"You don't seem happy about what he said." Maureen said.

"I just can't shake the feeling that Jane is still on Paul's mind...and in his heart. He just seemed...disappointed when he made the comment about not needing to push Jane away as if he wanted her to be closer to him. What do you think? Am I over analyzing?"

Cynthia looked at Maureen and then back at Katia.

"What is it? Do you know something and you don't want to tell me?"

"Ummm..." Cynthia hesitated.

"What is it? Katia questioned anxiously.

"Well...some months ago, John may have mentioned something about Jane and Paul."

"Okay."

"Kat, keep in mind this was before you were even back in our lives."

"Okay." Katia repeated.

"Well...there was one night while the boys were drinking at the house. Paul got stinkin' drunk and confessed to John how much he was hurting that Jane seemed to prefer acting and her career over their relationship. I mean, Paul has made the time despite all the chaos surrounding the group, to fly down for a weekend or for a few days on holiday and she just doesn't seem to take the time to just be with him. In her mind, if she is working, Paul needs to respect that and understand that she can't stop everything at the drop of a hat just because he wants her to." Cynthia said.

"But while we were at the Bahamas, Jane showed up wanting to spend her holiday there with Paul and according to Paul, he sent her away." Katia countered.

"It was most likely because you were there." Cynthia replied.

"And to all this, what do you feel for Paul?" Maureen asked.

"I don't know. I left Paul as my neighbor...as my friend...my boyfriend...and then didn't live through the transition he had to Beatle Paul....it may not make sense but Paul grew up without me being next to him...and I did too. So now there's this missing piece...this piece I got to know about him through the media and not based on personal experience with him. So I love the guy I left in Liverpool...because I got to know him, but part of me feels like I don't know Paul all that much now."

After a pause, Maureen spoke up.

"Kat...you may want to rationalize loving someone, but you are not supposed to have everything figured out in order to convince yourself that you should love someone. Just...be careful, but have fun. Listen, you have this man who is telling you he has feelings for you...who the hell cares what his name is! He has feelings for you. Plain and simple. Treat him as you did when you first met him. See him in his environment, let him bring you into it. Let him fill you in on that missing piece that you're struggling to find. He's the only one that can do it."

"Thank you Maureen. Your're right...I am rationalizing something that can't be rational. You're not the first person who tells me this."

They went back to the room to wait on the boys and found George and Andrew already in the room.

"Hi!" Katia said going up to George and giving him a hug. "Where are the others?"

"They'll be here in a few minutes." he smiled as he greeted Maureen and Cynthia.

A few minutes later, there was a knock on the door. Andrew went ahead and opened it. When the boys came in, each one was holding a bouquet of flowers in their hand.

"Hello girls." John smiled as he went over to Cynthia and gave her the flowers. Ringo did the same for Maureen and then Paul came over to Katia and handed her the bouquet of flowers he had in his hand.

"I've missed you." He said as he hugged Katia.

"Me too." Katia smiled during the embrace. "Thank you for the flowers. They're beautiful. You remembered Peruvian Lilies were my favorite."

"Yes! Let me tell ya, it's not as easy as I thought to find them here." he laughed.

"Paul...always the charmer!" George remarked.

"Looks like that charm rubbed off on John and Ritchie." Maureen said.

"Well we weren't going to allow him to make us look bad." John replied.

"Yeah, we couldn't have that." Ringo added.

"Well it was a lovely gesture." Katia said as she set the flowers down on the bed.

"Not to change the conversation here, but anybody else hungry?" Andrew asked. "The food on the plane is long gone and I'm starting to see in black and white here."

Everyone laughed and agreed that they should head out to get some lunch. As everyone piled out of the room, Paul asked Katia if he could talk to her for a second.

"We'll catch up." Paul said to the others. "I'm glad you liked the flowers." Paul started. "I'm so happy you're finally here."

"I am too." Katia said "You know...it's been a while since anybody's given me flowers..."

"Has it?"

"Yeah."

After a long pause, Katia began feeling a little shy. Paul was looking at her but wouldn't say anything.

"Ummm...how's the filming going?" She asked.

"It just got better." Paul replied without taking his eyes off of her.

Katia found herself looking down at Paul's shoes. She could feel her face getting hot and she knew she was blushing. Katia felt Paul's hand on her chin as he tilted it so she'd look up at him. He smiled sweetly.

"I've been thinking a lot about you...about us...I'm really glad you're here."

"I'm glad I'm here too." Katia said softly. "Ummm...maybe we should head out...everyone's probably wondering where we are." Katia said pointing to the room door.

Paul chuckled. "Sure, let's go."

***

"What time did they want us to meet them at the lobby?" Katia yelled through the bathroom door as she finished putting on her skirt.

"You have 10 minutes, Kat!" Andrew answered back.

"Okay, I'm ready!" Katia said as she walked out of the bathroom. "I just need to put on my new boots." she smiled as she began looking through the shopping bags that were in the corner.

After lunch, Katia, Maureen and Cynthia had gone shopping and Katia had picked up a few things.

"Is that skirt new too?" Andrew asked.

"Yes...it's a little shorter than I normally wear, but Maureen said it's how everyone is wearing them."

"It looks good." Andrew smiled.

"Thanks...I figured since we were going to a club tonight, it'd be appropriate."

"I don't think anyone's going to complain about its inappropriateness!" Andrew laughed.

"Oh shut up!" she laughed as she finished zipping up the boots.

"Ready?" Andrew asked.

"Yes." Katia said following Andrew out of the room.

By the time Katia and Andrew got to the lobby, everyone was already there. It was evident by their appearance and their behavior that the boys had been smoking. They could not control their giggling and although Katia found it entertaining at first, she soon realized that being sober when they were high had it's drawbacks- half of the things they found funny didn't make any sense to her. When they got to the club, they were taken to a table in the back. Neil took drink orders and Katia asked for a scotch on the rocks.

"Going hard tonight?" Andrew questioned.

"Relax...I learned my lesson. I'm not planning on getting drunk...I just want to get into the atmosphere and have a good time."

With Cynthia and Maureen there, the behavior of the Beatles was quite different from what Katia had seen at the Bahamas. Here, the girls that approached the boys were quickly dismissed from the table. They were all very polite, and the truth was that most approached George and Paul, but none of the girls stayed for more than a few minutes. It was a cozier atmosphere than what Katia had seen at the Bahamas and she rather enjoyed it. The more she thought about it though, she realized that when it was just her, the boys didn't seem to care if they were seen with other women, but with Cynthia and Maureen there, even Paul and George were on their best behavior. Was it because they knew Katia wouldn't say anything to the girls to spare them their feelings? Or maybe Cynthia and Maureen knew what went on with their husbands while they weren't there but just chose not to speak of it. Perhaps by denying it, it didn't become a reality for them. It was with that thought that Katia realized she was the one who was in denial. Paul was already committed to Jane and she was denying it so it wouldn't become a reality for her. Without realizing it, Katia's mood took a turn. She suddenly found herself upset, not only with herself, but with Paul for having led her on while still with Jane.

"I'm going to the bar." Katia whispered to Andrew.

"What?" He turned to look at her.

"I'm going to get another drink." she said as she began to stand up.

Andrew pulled her back down. "What's going on, Kat? You still haven't finished the one in front of you?"

Katia looked at Andrew and grabbed the glass. She gulped it down and put it back on the table.

"I'm going to get another drink." she repeated as she stood up and began walking away from the table.

Andrew immediately followed her to the bar, calling after her.

"Scotch on the rocks, please." Katia said to the bartender.

"What the hell, Kat!" Andrew said as he reached her.

"Make that two." She said to the bartender.

"Talk to me!" Andrew insisted.

Katia felt tears in her eyes. "I'm just like them...like those girl..."

"What are you talking about?"

"Like those girls that throw themselves at the Beatles...I'm just one of them. I know Paul has Jane and I'm still...hopeful...he'll leave her...I don't even consider Jane in all of this...where are my morals, Andrew? What if it was Cynthia or Maureen."

"Kat..." Andrew seemed frustrated, but took a deep breath before continuing. "Kat, you have got to get your shit together! Honestly...stop revolving your life around Paul! Just stop! He doesn't seem to be having much trouble in living his life without Jane...and you have nothing to do with that. Kat...I know you still have feelings for Paul and you're concerned about Jane...but frankly, if Paul doesn't care about her feelings or the commitment he has to her...then why would you? On top of that, didn't you say that Maureen and Cynthia were encouraging your relationship with Paul this afternoon?"

"Yes...but...I...what do I do, Andrew?"

"Just live...enjoy this experience without wondering about Paul...do what you want...enjoy what you do...stop analyzing everything. I hate seeing you like this...I don't like that Paul can have such influence over you."

"Me either."

The drinks arrived and Andrew handed one to Katia. "How about you just enjoy tonight, okay?"

"I like that. Cheers to that!" She smiled.

"Bottoms up!"

As they walked back to the table, Andrew took Katia's hand. "Dance with me."

"Okay." Katia smiled.

They danced for a few songs and Katia managed to regain control of herself before heading back to the table. Her control lasted only a few minutes as she saw a pretty brunette pull up a chair next to Paul. For the next hour, Katia glanced their way and for every minute the brunette continued to talk and laugh with Paul, the more Katia became jealous of her. She tried to ignore it by having more drinks and asking Andrew to dance, but despite her best efforts, she kept looking over in Paul's direction. Near the end of the night, Maureen suggested they trade dancing partners, so she ended up dancing with Andrew, Cynthia with Ringo and Katia with John.

"So...I see you've been hitting the alcohol pretty hard tonight, Kat."

"Thought I couldn't keep up with you Lennon?"

"Kat, you couldn't keep up with me if you tried." He laughed.

"You're most likely right."

"This wouldn't have anything to do with that bird at the table, would it?" John asked.

Katia rolled her eyes. "Can't a girl just have some fun without being questioned?"

"You're right...what was I thinking." John said smiling.

Katia knew John didn't believe her. The truth was that Paul had ignored Katia most of the night and she had to admit that most of the alcohol she had drank that night was to block out this fact. After the first song, Maureen asked if they were switching dance partners as a slow song began.

"One more song." Cynthia said. "Ritchie's such a great dancer and John has two left feet!" she laughed.

"Hey!" John remarked. "I'll show you two left feet, woman!" John said to Cynthia. "C'mon, Kat...let's show them what we can do!" he smiled.

She laughed as John brought her close to him. Katia thought John wasn't a bad dancer and could actually lead, but after having danced with Ringo before, she knew exactly what Cynthia meant.

"What do you think, Kat? Should I borrow someone's right foot?" John said softly into Katia's ear.

"Not at all...you're great on the dance floor." Katia replied.

"I'm even better in the bedroom."

"John Lennon!"

He burst out in such a contagious laugh that she couldn't help but join him.

"You're terrible!" she said as she playfully hit him on the arm just as the song was ending.

They left the club shortly after. Katia half expected for the brunette girl to come back with Paul, but he said goodbye to her and she stayed behind. By the time they reached the hotel, Katia could feel she was still slightly drunk, but her motor skills were still working. John, Cynthia, Ringo, Maureen, George and Neil got off the elevator one floor below Katia, Paul, Andrew and Mal. As they walked to their room, Paul gently grabbed Katia by the arm and stopped her.

"Can I talk to you?" Paul asked her.

Andrew stopped to check on Katia. She looked at him and told him to go on ahead. He and Mal walked down the hall and Katia saw each of them go into their respective room. Looking at Paul, she noticed the high of the beginning of the night had been replaced by tired eyes.

"Come 'ead. We can talk in my room." he said as he searched for the key and walked her to the room.

Katia found herself standing inside Paul's room.

"Have a seat, love."

She nodded and sat in an armchair while Paul grabbed a bottle of water and handed her another.

"Thanks." she replied taking it, but didn't bother to open it.

"Did you have a good time tonight?" he asked casually.

"Yeah...You?"

"Me too."

There was a long silence. Paul set the water bottle down, kicked off his shoes and started unbuttoning his shirt.

"I should probably get going..." Katia said setting her water bottle next to the armchair. "It's getting late." she continued as she began heading to the door. Paul stopped her before she reached it, however.

"No...wait." he said as he pinned her ever so gently against the wall.

Katia inhaled sharply in surprise; she looked up at him.

"Don't go just yet...we haven't even talked."

"What did you want to talk about?" Katia asked nervously.

"Tonight."

"What about it?" She asked.

Paul looked at Katia and stroked the side of her face with the back of his hand.

"I didn't even get to dance with you." he continued.

"I guess we were both busy tonight."

Paul slowly began leaning in. He kissed Katia on the cheek and whispered in a rough voice, "I hated seeing you dancing with John. I was bloody jealous when I saw him pull you close to him." As he said that, he grabbed Katia by the waist. "Did he hold you like this?" He asked as he pulled her closer to him. "Or maybe more like this?" He asked again, bringing their bodies together so they touched.

"Paul..."

"Did he make you feel like this? Did your breath get heavy and your heart start racing like it's doing now? Did you make him want to kiss you like you are making me want to kiss you?"

"Paul...please stop." Katia said trying to push him away, but feeling his resistance as she did.

"I've been wanting to have you like this since I saw you this morning. I've been wanting to kiss you again since that day at the pool."

Katia tried pushing him away, but he grabbed both her hands and placed them against the wall.

"Shh...just let me kiss you and I'll let you go if you want. Please." He said looking deeply into her eyes.

"No...I--" but she stopped short as Paul placed his lips over hers and sweetly kissed her.

It wasn't a passionate kiss or an aggressive one, but the sweetest of kisses. She tried resisting, but felt herself involuntarily responding to it.

"I knew you weren't indifferent." Paul whispered as he nuzzled her neck and started kissing it.

Katia let it happen for a few moments until she realized what was going on.

"No...I can't." she said as she tried pulling away from Paul's grasp. He released her hands and looked at Katia startled.

"I have to go." she said flustered.

"Why?" Paul questioned.

"I...I just can't stay here. Please." she pleaded.

Paul looked confused. He turned around and ran his fingers through his hair. He sighed before taking a drink of his water. He turned around and looked at Katia, who was still a bit troubled by what had just happened.

"C'mon...I'll walk you to your room." he said as he buttoned his shirt.

When they got to the door of Katia's hotel room, Paul smiled at her sweetly.

"Kat, I'm never going to do anything you don't want. You don't have to worry about that. I care too much about you to do that. I just wanted to kiss you...that's all...just kiss you goodnight." he continued as he softly brushed his lips against hers."Have a goodnight, Kat."

"Goodnight." Katia said struggling to get the door open and realized it was locked. Paul laughed softly and knocked on the door. Andrew opened it after a few seconds.

"I return her safe and sound, mate. Goodnight." Paul waved and walked back down the hallway.
